Of course they hope that most people will go and not stay. There was a time that it was not this hard, that was when Nigeria's economy was good and people went and came back.
The embassy even gives visas knowing that some of those will stay. The reason being that they have a quota to meet in letting people into the US, people they know will become citizen in the future. They know the power of diversity, so they want immigrants, they just don't want too many from one country or region. Because that's how balance is maintained. They prefer to get the smartest ones, but they also give some opportunities to people that are not so smart.
Bluntemperor: GBAM! Good question for the American Envoy and their Embassies in Nigeria!
You cannot use the word "emigrants". Emigrant means "a person who leaves their own country in order to settle permanently in another."
So if they came back and never had intentions to stay, they are not emigrants.
Qoko: Was 50,000 granted the visa? Cos my brother and 2 daughters went and returned with their 2022 visa, not every emigrants has the mind to Japastic.
My guy, we are talking about someone wey japa from Nigeria to US and then coming back to Nigeria, or just sending money back home to buy up properties and starting business in Nigeria, in naira.
Yes you can pay your bills and still save. You have to be smart with your money and not get sucked into the system of spending money you don't have.
Yes, that's how it is in the US. And if I move from Colorado to Texas or any other state, I just need to go get the ID or drivers license and I will become a resident of that state and I can enjoy every rights in that state.
Even though it's clear that I'm originally from Nigeria, nobody can deny me anything once I get the ID or drivers license of the state. And if anybody does, then they are breaking the law, and I have a great chance of winning in court and being compensate.
uuzba: Well some basic rules must be agreed to before unity will work. 1. We are all of different tribes. So nobody should speak his tribe language when we unit. We must all speak English. 2. No tribe mus feel that he is the one superior to other tribes. 3. Anywhere a person is born, that is the person's state of origin. 4. Any tribe can buy land, live and marry in any part of the country.
Make you look at salaries abroad before you talk o! Even driving Uber for US you can be making easily 1.5 million naira a week. Yes a week. Maybe your government can pay comparable salaries if they stop stealing, but I'm sure they don't want to stop stealing.
I believe that Nigeria can be great, but it will require unity. When we are united, we will do great things.
Bluntemperor: Beautiful you- you nailed it with your analysis! Imagine a Medical Doctor takes 8- years or a Consultant -that takes over 12- yrs to become capable,so some Nigerians in their shops or one room office,or living apartments may not understand the gravity of Japa Syndrome now! The best approach,is for the government ( Federal and States) should devise a means of tackling this menace, from the Global perspectives - not from a lay man point of view! • A State in Nigeria can even set the ball rolling by given a Wage, Salaries and Allowances, a good Working Environment,Housing, etc - comparable to what is obtainable abroad,as a starting point!
Example could be that you're going for a boxing match, a UFC fight, a golf tournament, a Beyonce concert, a soccer game, a 90th birthday celebration of your grandfather who lives in America.
These events have a date, so that forces them to make a decision on time, and that moves your application to the front.
What una need to do is to unite. When united, you defeat all. Nigeria would be very strong, if they were united. But lack of unity, na him make country be as e be. No be white man do una, na una do unaself.
uuzba: This our Naira that doesn't have value. You will package N1200 (one thousand, two hundred naira) before white man will give you only $1 (one dollar). And we think that is normal? Why not, I give you ONE naira, you give me ONE dollar in exchange? Why must my own be so worthless? Untop of all that, they will gather N23 billion Naira from Nigerians and REJECT their visa again. So you go and sell the whole regions of Nigeria, gather another money and give them... then they reject that visa again. Wetin remain to sell give white man for visa fees?
The same nanny for developed country will be richer than most of your doctors in Nigerian in less than 1 year. He or she will be able to buy up lands in the village and start a business, while most of those that stayed will still be struggling.
My point is that you should not make fun of those that travel out and get jobs like nanny, because if they are smart, they will grow from there into something bigger and better.
Mrfeel: There is no lie in what I said , I repeat every land occupied by people now is as a result of conquest during the migration era , stronger tribes conquered weaker tribes took over their lands some merged with the stronger ethnic groups to become one people this is the history of humans
About land grabbers taking away my land , likee I said , if they are strong enough and smart enough to take away the land I bought with evidence to prove it in court that the land belongs to me , then I will accept it as one of those things amongst humans nature nothing new
I don't claim Christianity, I was born into a Christian family but as I grew older I realize all religions just like traditions including Christianity are nothing but human made norms values and taboos made by smart people to mentally countrol others who are not as smart as them and to also help unite those set of people to see themselves as one people under same beliefs and practices
Kog45: Oga Charles,it seems you are not getting this discourse…the man icon4s is one of the leading Osimehn baba here and he threw a question “can we compare Osimehn with Yekini now and from individual’s contributions so far, nothing like disrespecting Osimehn.
Fact Osimehn will prefer to win Afcon and lead Nigeria to WC than missing out and win all time Nigeria highest goal scorer.Whether we like it or not Osimehn will soon be all time GOAT of Nigeria football cuz @24 he has the time.
Marjoribanks: At 22 years (1986) where was Yekini! At 22 years Oshimen was already one of the best strikers in the world (AFON and World Cup qualifiers highest goal scorer) but missed the AFCON through injuries. At 20 years, Oshimen already had AFCON bronze.
At 24 years, he has achieved what Yekini could only dreamed of! At this stage of Yekini's life he can't lace Oshimen's shoe. And what Oshimen will achieve in the future will only be a pipe dream for Yekini.
Marjoribanks: Yekini won just one AFCON and failed to score in both Semi finals and finals of that AFCON win. Yekini statpaded teams like Ethiopia, Gabon etc. Yekini has just one tap in World cup goal. Missed a sitter against ten men Italy. Abeg rest! Many watched Yekini live here ooo.
Oshimen is just 24 years old and has not even been to any AFCON as a starter yet. Please rest all this talk! He was the highest goal scorer at the World cup qualification. Unfortunate to lose out on away goal rule against Ghana without most of our top midfielders available for that game. Please rest all this full potential crap. He still has 3 to 4 AFCONs to go.
charlesemeka85: yes of course. He is already tagged as one of the best strikers in the world currently and winning the Apoty will elevate he’s status more
Not winning a major trophy with Nigeria can’t and won’t rob him of he’s achievements
The Kyiv mayor, Vitali Klitschko, said at least two people were killed in the Ukrainian capital after Russia launched an attack using drones and missiles. Ukrainian air defence systems shot down at least 20 missiles heading for the city from different directions.
A drone attack hit an airport in Russia’s western Pskov region, setting military aircraft ablaze in what appeared to be the largest series of strikes on Russian soil since the war began.
Maybe find an app that can listen to audio and translate for you, before you open mouth dey talk.
Westerhoffe: I'm sure he didn't say what you quoted and posted up there. The man died in a plane crash. No report yet of someone being responsible for the crash. So him saying he'll find those responsible is like saying the attack was planned.
Putin's video regarding Prigozhin's death. He praises Prigozhin and Wagner, sends his condolences for relatives and vows to find those who are responsible for his death
What the person you replied to is saying is that the West is more free, the media try to show it like it is, but any media in Russia that tries that will go to jail. So West media is more trustworthy I think.
"That’s why for us, his not coming is the best solution." - South Africa Deputy President Paul Mashatile about Putin's attendance of the BRICS summit in August.
South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has asked the Kremlin to send Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to the event. "We realize that we are tied by the Rome Statute, but we cannot invite someone and then have him arrested <...> - Mr. Mashatile said.
Russia rejected the South African President's proposal to send a delegation headed by Lavrov to the BRICS summit instead of Putin.
