Your ignorance is what made you to believe that fraudulent map.

The shorelines in Rivers State and Bayelsa state including Delta is not same as Lagos state.

Because the criminals wanted to steal in trillions with this project, they never told you that coastal areas in the aforementioned States are peoples ancestral homes. It is not exactly what you have in Lagos state.

Are you going to uproot those people from their swampy villages with mangrove forests and creeks because of coastal highway?

Travel and see, that is part of education.
Since you have failed to name the locations where this fraudulent road will pass through, then begin to think now and ask Thièfnubu your criminally minded uncle serious questions about this project. grin grin
Dude is an ignoramus
That map is the map of the existing road infrastructure. You can see it is not following the coast and splits at Benin

1. The road will connect all the 7 ports in Nigeria together

2. The road will serve as alternative to lagos-ibadan expreway.

3. All major cities in South West and South South will be connected together.

4. The 700 kilometer road is not entirely new as there many federal roads within it so it served as way of repairing the bad federal roads

5. The coastal road will have rail, this will assist the new refineries to easily move their products.

1. How will the road connect 7 ports in Nigeria?

2. How can it serve as alternative to Lagos-Ibadan Expressway when it's a coastal road. Is Ibadan a coastal town?

3. Major cities how? Ibadan, Abeokuta, Akure, Ado-Ekiti, Osogbo, Benin, PH, Uyo are major cities of SW and SS. How will these road connect these cities? Are they previously unconnected?

4. How is it not new when it is supposed to be a coastal highway. Is there an existing coastal highway?

5. Refineries are better served with pipelines connecting them to depots and ports not rail lines.

Conclusion: It's obvious you don't know what you're talking about.

P.S. Your map is a map of the existing road linking south west with south south and south east. It shows your ignorance that you mistook that for the coastal highway.

Same as Bayern. They have not lost at home in the UCL this season. So it's the same thing. The only thing that will make Madrid qualify ahead of Bayern is the UCL spirit that has always been with them, nothing more.
Madrid are a better team than Bayern
That much is obvious from the pattern of progression of both teams in this competition this season.

This tariff review is in conformity with our policy thrust of maintaining a subsidized pricing regime in the short run, with a transition plan to achieve a full cost-reflective tariff over a period of, let us say three years." - Nigeria's Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu.

It looks scary but what the Honourable Minister is trying to do is actually what should be done. I understand the emotions and his non-elegant way of explaining things (an example: asking people to switch off freezers to save energy cost), but the path he is taking is the right one. Many do not pay electricity bills in Nigeria even as they complain of no electricity. So, besides reflective tariff, we must ensure we also improve collections.

Our challenge as a nation is how to make the rich pay their fair share. In America (feel free to attack me for bringing comparison), those in the cities pay more for phone bills than those in the rural areas. Their model is that if you do not subsidize the low density rural areas with the revenue from the high density city areas, no person can afford rural telephony.

If you apply that in Nigeria, Eti Osa LGA cannot be on the same rate as Epe on electricity rates, just like Oriendu Market Ovim traders cannot pay the same rate as Ariaria Aba traders. It is our lack of the use of data that makes our governance system inefficient.

I just want to caution the Honourable Minister, you cannot phase out electricity tariff; it would be a bad policy. What you can do is to phase out all for commercial customers, modulate for some residential customers especially in rural areas, but sustain subsidy for industrial customers to make them globally competitive as energy is a huge component of production.

For industrial customers, if a $100m subsidy helps to improve output by $15 billion, when you tax that output and activity associated with it, you can recover that $100m. But if a high tariff makes their products so expensive that the only option is Chinese products, Nigeria loses. Always remember that whenever Nigerian Customs beats annual revenue targets on import duties, we are de-industrializing Nigeria; reverse that for us

Sorry about that but for Chelsea and PSG, it still stands. That means they could be defeated at Bernabeu. I replace the error with Barcelona beating Real Madrid 2-0 at Bernabeu semifinal UCL in 2011 and also Mancity beating Real Madrid 2-1 both home and away in the UCL of 2020. So Madrid can be defeated at Bernabeu.
Is there any team that can't be defeated at home?

Yes o, no point at all. But we deal with facts, just that Nigerians hardly deal with facts. The arguments they were having is how so difficult to win at Bernabeu which has been clarified that Tuchel hasn't lost at Bernabeu but has actually won there.
The point of discussion was not whether he qualified after winning there, but whether anyone can win at Bernabeu.
You're just cherrypicking. Madrid have an impressive home record in this season's champions league. They are unbeaten at home.
Besides that, they have lost only once. So to use 2022 stat as basis for making claims shows your limited knowledge of the dynamics of football
Politics / Re: Landmark: Peter Obi Is inciting S/Easterners Against Tinubu - Umahi (vid, Pix) by Kukutenla: 6:55pm On May 01
emkz:
What Peter Obi is trying to do is politics of populism. He realizes that the social media mob is sympathetic to the Landmark CEO who encroached on government land, and he decided to initiate a Twitter rant yesterday condemning the project.

To tell you how dangerous it is, some people are now asking investors not to invest in Lagos and a dangerous ethnic dimension has entered the conversation.

Landmark is one of several businesses and why are other businesses silent?

Looking at what was demolished, see picture below; please how does that amount to $200million investment? Quantity surveyors and valuers, please give a fair assessment of the value of that swimming pool and temporary shanties.

While I think Umahi went too far in saying Peter Obi is inciting Igbos, I think it is important for Peter Obi to inform himself of the implications of some of his submissions in the public arena. Nigeria is too fragile to play this ethnic game because of elections.

What many are reading is him fighting for his brother's investment, whipping up mob sentiments and misrepresenting facts.

Until now, Landmark has not proved to the social media that they own the land. They are saying shift the project away so I can illegally stay on the land. That is the illegality Peter Obi supports.

Apparently, the most expensive asset there is the swimming pool.

From the internet, the cost of a swimming pool is as follows;

Let's say each gazebo costs ₦500,000. There are about twenty of them there. That works out to about ₦10,000,000. I see three buildings. Let's put them at the cost of ₦20,000,000 each. Assuming the swimming pool costs ₦80,000,000 to build + ₦10,000,000 for gazebos and ₦60,000,000 for building, that works out to ₦150,000,000. Using an exchange rate of USD$1 = ₦1,263.273; that works out to USD$120,000. Okay, let's use the exchange rate of the naira to the dollar as at six years ago, since the CEO of Landmark claimed it was a six year investment. Obviously, prices were way cheaper then, but let us still use today's prices. That ₦150,000,000 works out to about USD$450,000 using an exchange rate of ₦333 to the dollar which obtained as at six years ago. Experts can argue for inflation and price fluctuations.

Clearly, the costing shows that the investment demolished is between 0.225% to 0.06% of the $200m investment claimed by the Landmark CEO. Of course, many bought it and ran with it.

At this time, the Landmark CEO owes the government an apology and owes the mob on social media an apology for misleading the public through social media.

At least you spoke a bit to the issue on ground because it sits well with your bias of attacking your paymasters political opponents.

I hope you'll maintain the same energy when the shoe is on the other foot

Arise News may need to explain if their interest is for the public good or they are seeking to protect their client.

The angst against the project by Arise News journalists and aspiring journalists is reminiscent of the same Arise News supporting Emefiele's manipulating of the naira to scuttle someone's ambition. It also reminds us of their proprietor attacking the presidential candidate of one party to interfere in elections because the candidate refused to attend his PR debates in his station for PDP or allow himself to be interviewed by his obviously biased media outlet.

Let us also remember that this same Arise News did not give any media coverage to the arrest of Godwin Emefiele, who is from the same area as the owner of Arise News. The running mate of the candidate in the PDP also came from the same area.

The sudden posturing for public probity is suspect.

Arise News, what is your interest in this matter? Did this guy pay you for PR against the government?

It's still going to be 50-50 at Bernabeu. Judging from the past three seasons, Madrid do better away than home. They get beating at home and win away. Against City last 2 seasons, Against Chelsea that same season, against PSG that same season, all their losses were home and winnings were away. Since the home-away advantage was removed, it's like home advantages have ceased to count.
Wrong!! City won at home 4-3 while Madrid beat them 3-1 at the bernabeu

Politics / Re: FG Completes And Switch On Zungeru Hydro Power Plant , Adds 624 MW To Grid by Kukutenla: 2:15pm On May 01
nairalanda1:

Money is important, along with structual issues

You got to start by allowing the companies charge a cost reflective tarrifs, AND you got to enforce the law on corruption and illegal connections.

All put in the 2019 PwC report on power.

P.S

1.The arise news reports quotes the Financial derivatives company...which probably did the research and talked to people in the sector, because that is what they do essentially. They know what they talk about

2.Nairametrics did the same thing...research.

And no one is more expert than the stakeholders and operators in the nigerian electricity supply industry...NESI...who repeatedly state that the sector needs cost reflective tarrifs.

I took my time to read the two links. The following are obvious contradictions from the two.

1. Arise puts funding required $100bn over 20 years while nairametrics puts it at $100bn in 5 years based on Egypt's model.

2. Nairametrics put our energy need at 200GW while Arise puts it at 40GW.

3. Nairametrics puts installed generating capacity at 22GW while Arise article sums it as 12GW.

4. Nairametrics puts electricity access at 54% while Arise puts it at 20%.

I'm sure you'll agree that these are basic and fundamental parameters which have been wrongly computed and thus makes it difficult to agree with anything from the articles since they can't even agree on the numbers. It makes a joke of the so-called research.

That said, nairametrics seemed to adopt the Egyptian model in its submission which was solely govt driven and thus the question of pricing does not arise. The weakness in this model is that the energy mix and structure of both countries are different and so are the challenges facing them.

On the other hand, Arise identified pricing as a major concern but also identified other systemic issues which it concluded to be more fundamental and germane.

So, in your estimation, which of the two reports are we going with?
Politics / Re: FG Completes And Switch On Zungeru Hydro Power Plant , Adds 624 MW To Grid by Kukutenla: 10:14am On May 01
nairalanda1:

Well, Nairametrics says 100 bn over a vague no of years, Arise is more liberal :100bn dollars over 20 years.

Neither nairametrics nor Arise are experts in power sector.
Having 24/7 power is not just about money but technical and structural adjustments. If you think it's about money alone, then you fail to understand that the amount spent on power in the last 24 years is not reflected in our power situation.
How for example can we still be recording grid collapse after billions of dollars spent from 1999 till now? There are financial issues truly but they are not the main inhibitor to progress in our power sector.

The lesson here is that some of our politicians are often overrated.

With a visit to EFCC with at most four SANS, worst case scenario, he will sleep over and the granted bail the following day and rhereafet the case will go the way of the other ones.
Let's tell ourselves a bit of truth though.
Bello's case also has political undertone. He was fingered as the brain behind the plot to kick Ganduje out of office via the back door. That is why his case is still burning cause he knows he's bitten more than he can chew.
But that said, everyone who knows anything knows how corrupt the dude was while he held power. Thus it is a case of a goat marked for roasting going to take a bath in petrol.
The guy is guilty and has attracted the angst of powers that be with his foolish belligerence. I hope for the sake of those who suffered his ignominious rule for 8 years that he does not get left off the hook.

All these fools writing rubbish claiming rule of law
Where was their cry for rule of law when Yahaya Bello denied Kogi civil servants their monthly due?
Where was their rule of law cry when Bello turned elections to war with attendant bloodshed and rigging in broad daylight?
This kobo kobo activists and rule of law preachers conveniently forget that the siege was carried out in Abuja while the court that gave the order was a state high court whose jurisdiction does not extend to Abuja. The order is only valid within the jurisdiction of the court which is Kogi. They also tactically overlook the fact that a federal high Court with coordinate jurisdiction with the state high court and having territorial jurisdiction throughout the country including Abuja gave a warrant for Bello's arrest. They warrant is valid and extends throughout Nigeria including Kogi state.
So all these kobo kobo activists and journalists need to rest!! We know why they are shouting from the rooftops. It is because of where their bread is being buttered and it just shows how morally decrepit our critical civil society has become.

Er, that takes us up to probably 14000mw, of which we can transmit probably 7000 mw max, which goes down to 5000 Mw

Nigeria needs something like 33000 MW for everyone on the grid now, More than twice that for everyone on the grid plus those not on the grid.
Nigeria also has a lot of off grid solutions. Besides, what this shows is the falsehood of Nigeria needing $10bn for 10 years to get power right. Zungeru dam costs just $1.3bn at 650MW. Ten of such will give us power that will meet all our needs and that's just $10.3bn and anyone who knows anything about power knows that generation is the most expensive aspect of power supply. So how do you justify the $100bn claim?
