University of Nnamdi Azikiwe , Awka took to their Facebook page to congratulate over 6000  who convoked today. Also inviting everyone again for the Award of Post Graduate and Honourary degrees at the Convocation Arena, Friday 23/3/2018 by 11am. According to them "Great and eminent Nigerians will storm the University of all times tomorrow"

Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil has begun the sale of online application forms for admission into the 6th Regular Course of degree programme  will commence on Monday 19th March, 2018 and end on Sunday the 24th June, 2018.  Admission into the Academy is open to both male and female Nigerians of good character.



METHOD OF APPLICATION

All interested Applicants are advised to go to the Nigeria Police Academy’s Website: www.polac.edu.ng in order to obtain or generate Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) Code.  The RRR code obtained can be used to make payment of N3,000.00 through any commercial Bank Branch in Nigeria. Applicants must, in addition, apply through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board [JAMB] as well as sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).  Candidates need not select the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil as a University of choice in the JAMB form.  However, only candidates who obtained the minimum UTME scores of 180 which is the Academy’s Cut-off mark in JAMB and purchased the Academy online Application Form will be eligible to sit for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Examination.

SUBMISSIONS OF APPLICATIONS

 Applications are to be submitted online. On submission of the applications, candidates are required to download Acknowledgement Form. Only candidates who meet the cut-off mark will be enabled to download and print their examination cards.

ADMISSIONS REQIUREMENTS

 The following are the admission requirements:

a.   Candidates seeking admission into the Academy must be Nigerian citizens and must be between 17 and 22 years of age, and must have a height of not less than 1.67 Metres (5 Feet 6 Inches) if male, and 1.62 Metres (5 Feet 4 Inches) if female. In addition, male candidates must have an expanded chest size of not less than 86cm (34 Inches for those between 21 and 22 years of age). All candidates must be free from any physical deformity or mental disability

b.  Candidates must have obtained a minimum of SIX (6) credits at the Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) conducted by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), the National Examinations Council (NECO) or the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) at not more than 2 sittings. All Candidates must also have a credit pass in English Language and Mathematics as well as subjects relevant to the candidate’s chosen course of study in the Academy.

c.   Candidates must also obtain satisfactory scores in both the written examination and the interview and must pass physical and psychological tests of fitness.



d.   SSCE STATEMENT OF RESULTS OR CERTIFICATES RELATING TO EXAMINATIONS TAKEN BEFORE 2014 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

SELECTION EXAMINATION DATE, CONDITIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  The Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil Selection Examination, may be Computer Based Test (CBT) or Pencil and Paper.  The examination shall comprise of a General Paper (Section A) which is compulsory for all candidates.  It will cover areas such as general knowledge and current affairs, English Language and Mathematics.  Other sections are to be selected according to candidate’s Faculty of choice.  It will be conducted on Saturday the 14th July, 2018. Only candidates who meet the Academy’s cut-off mark of 180 in UTME and above will be eligible to sit for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Examination at the 19 designated Centres. The list of Centres is in the Academy Website.  Eligible candidates are to bring along to the examination venue their Acknowledgement Form, Examination Card, current JAMB Result Slip and two Postcard size photographs (3.5x5 Inches) which should show only from the chest upwards.  At the back of each of the two Postcard size photographs, the candidates must write their name, State of origin, Examination Centre and signature.

Only candidates who are successful in the Selection Examination will be invited for the Nigeria Police Academy Selection Board screening and interview. The list of successful candidates will be published on our website and in some national newspapers.

NATURE AND DURATION OF COURSE

Candidates admitted into the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil degree course will undergo a combined Academic and Police training for a minimum period of Five (5) Years leading to Bachelor’s degrees and commission into the Nigeria Police Force as Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

Kingsley Ahachie emerges 2016/2017 UNIZIK Overall Best Graduating Student
Mr. Kingsley Chibueze Ahachie from the department of Electrical Engineering has clinched the highly coveted Nnamdi Azikiwe University Overall Best Graduating Student for the 2016/2017 academic session with the CGPA of 4.84.

This was announced yesterday at the Presentation of Prizes to the Best Graduating Students of various departments and faculties held at the University auditorium. (Details later...)
Meanwhile, the Minister of Transportation, H.E Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is billed to deliver the Convocation lecture today by 1pm at the University Auditorium.

Report reaching us  from Unizik official facebook page has it that about 500 top Chinese companies will storm Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka in May in a bid to recruit graduands from the Confucius institute.

This was announced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph E. Ahaneku, FAS during pre convocation press briefing to mark the 12th Convocation of the institution.

Prof. Ahaneku explained that the University has already started counting her blessings from the establishment of Confucius Institute in the institution. He further disclosed that over 200 UNIZIK students are currently in China on scholarship.

The Vice-Chancellor also disclosed that as part of the "hands-on" being preached by the university, the department of Industrial Production Engineering of the University has commenced production of six plastics items including cups, bowls and trays.

He also stated that the institution through its women cooperative society had started the production of quality bread and other confectioneries.

According to him, these conscious efforts are to further project the institution as an entrepreneurial university.

“Time has come to demonstrate our capabilities and skills to help students embrace the 21st century research that will launch them into the society after graduation.

“It was not rocket science. You do not talk science if you do not practice it.

“The items are produced using local materials and the machines used have been adjudged to be the best in the Western African Sub-region,” Ahaneku said.

He said the institution had also opened its doors to expose its students on three key areas of `agro-preneur, entrepreneur and trans-preneur’.

“For instance, the institution has widened its teaching to study German, Spanish and Chinese languages and has begun collaboration to establish Igbo classes in institutions of foreign partners.

“The only thing that will help us as an institution is to define our areas of strength,” he said.

He said that total of 7,731 graduands would be awarded with various degrees while 54 graduands would be awarded with first class certificates.

Ahaneku said the institution would also confer honorary degrees on some distinguished Nigerians namely Sen. Ben Ndi Obi, Alhaji Sani Zango Daura, and Chief Jacob Wood, a Chinese business administrator based in Nigeria.

Meanwhile, the interdenominational service billed to kick start the convocation ceremonies held yesterday at the University auditorium. This will be preceded today by the presentation of prizes to the Best Graduating Students at the University auditorium by 12 noon.
