MadamExcellency: I am an associate lecturer. You can't teach students by blackmail. How on earth will students learn by imagination and theory alone?
We need the equipment, computers, hardwares, consumables and practical demonstrations to teach our students.
Nigerian Students can do well in paperwork but fail in practical demonstration because our government fail to equip the schools. No.wonder @ associate lecturer. Can I buy you lunch why we discuss I share all.your political views. We can discuss on.a range of topics. I disagree with a part of.your.comment and maintain my.stance |

Our desire to create cash crops hubs (CCHubs) in different geopolitical zones of Nigeria took us on a sojourn to Iyanomo village (Ovian East LG) in Edo state.
The cocoa pods pix in the accompanying picture is a sample of cocoa harvest from the village without use of any chemical fertilizer.
We had a very fruitful discussions with the elders & youths representative of the village & they are ready to accommodate us by earmarking 1,000 acres of virgin tropical rain forest for our CCHub project.
The villagers grow cocoa, oil-palm & banana/plantain in commercially.
The advantages of this location are:
✔️Accommodating host ✔️Cheap farmland ✔️Cheap labour ✔️No theft (nobody steals farm produce in this village) ✔️Easy accessibility directly on Benin-Lagos expressway (40 min drive from Ring road, Benin)
The site shall be one of our CCHub-Cocoa (CocoaVillage) & oil-palm.
If you are a farmer from Edo state & you plan to retire back home, this location is very good.
Let's farm together & may God bless our hustles.

Agriculture › Re: Creating A Sustainable Banana And Sugarcane Value Chain In Nigeria by kunleweb: 1:07pm On Dec 10, 2018 |
Flobiotech: Many developed countries are reaping the fruit of their research finding, some of these findings are being transferred to developing countries through training but are yet to be implemented and utilized. A large scale farmers need thousands of planting materials for establishment, these materials can be obtained easily from Tissue Culturing technique in laboratory. These materials being so tender pass through 2 stages of hardening in a shade house before transferring to farmers. During these processes jobs are created. Value chain in banana and sugar cane are 1. laboratory to generate in vitro plantlets 2. primary and secondary hardening 3. cultivation on the farm 4. marketing of produce to consumers or industry Banana is expensive because we do not have large farmers cultivating it unlike plantain. Also banana consumption in Nigeria is low because it is costly. Banana is being seen as a good source of income from selling local and from exporting. The health benefit of banana are enormous, it is a good source of fibre, contains good level of protein, contains amino acid tryptophan which helps in brain function, contains potassium which helps maintain blood pressure and keep sodium on blood pressure at minimal (we know we get sodium from common salts from all kinds of cooked and processed food we consume), So we need to balance this with potassium.
Sugar cane can be used in the industry to produce all kinds of sugar, sucrose, glucose etc, iceing sugar. Even ethanol and biogas. In India, a sugar cane industry supplies electricity to surrounding villages. Big |

writerights: See, leave party out of this. We don't have to be economical with the truth because it causes us pain. I'm an undergraduate of one of the best universities in Nigeria and I can tell you that man knows what he's saying. Tell me what you studied in school and how you've contributed anything meaningful to the body of knowledge and impacted lives. Many of us who try to, against all odds, do so painstakingly on our own accord. The system has failed us and it needs urgent revival. It is evident in the daily running of Nigeria at all level, even in your immediate family. I don't care what party anyone belongs too, to hell with all of them but let's be rational in our thoughts.
This present day Nigeria can't ever move forward if we only subscribe to leaders who provide us with sugarcoated words. While this man himself has contributed immensely to the failure of the system and should be out rightly condemned, I do think he still made his point. God bless.you |
