Good thinking. Boarding schools were good up to early 1980s. Thereafter things turn haywire. If you send your child to be a boarder today, you have done him/her a great disservice. He/she will pick up all and everything bad - drugs, crooked thinking like homosexualism, alcohol abuse, religious fanaticism etc.

80s was pure. 90s was sane to some extent. I will never counsel anyone to send their kids to one.

I meet up with my old schoolmates every month. Most were borders, I wasn't. I chose to go to the school because I wanted to be a border and get away from home but my parent's weren't having it because they had my siblings' fees to pay too. I swear if I had the knowledge I now have I might have sold one of them to pay the boarding fees! My mates have this camaraderie which I'd envy if not for their complete regard and acceptance of me.

I vote boarding, in a good school. Your children will learn to stand on their own feet and will build life long relationships that will benefit them and you.

I agree. There's this grit that exboarders can survive even a nuclear holocaust. That terrible confidence to stare death even in the eyes. The question should is are you financially inclined to send your ward to a good boarding school. Forget those pple saying cultism, stubbornness etc. There re good boarding school around where you send ur ward to and would send them over and over again. Na money kill am. Not those local govt boarding school.

I disagree. My dad was a first class top level banker who sent all his kids to the most expensive boarding schools of our days. Till today, I regret going to boarding school though there were many disadvantages. Yes it builds academia for example, I'm called spirit by my friends for m study and researching skills where I can study for 6-8hours with just snacks in front of me with little distraction. The character moulding of the experience is one of the areas I have issues with. The formative years of an individuals character is very important and this is where damage is done more than oft. There's a lot more demerits time won't permit me to share.

Myself and every member of my family went to boarding school. I remained a pure individual till today with super sharp intuition and have recorded many successes in life virtue of some of the skills I learned thru my boarding ( not just school ) experiences.



Allow me discourage you from ever sending your kids to boarding school please. I can't type much. Its something I'll never ever ever do with any of my kids
