The Senator elect ensured victory in all the 19 pooling units within the ward leaving no stone unturned for his political party.

The 'O To Ope' slogan is now the new tone within the environs of ilorin as more result from the senator's 4 LGAs (Ilorin East, Ilorin South, Ilorin West and Asa) showed APC to be leading for both the Governorship and House of assembly.

So far out of the 52 wards in the Kwara Central senatorial zone, results from the 10 wards released so far showed that APC is leading in all the 10wards released so far. A total of 16,630 has been counted for APC governorship result with PDP recording 7,328. Currently, APC is leading by a margin of 69% to PDP 31%.

In Asa local government where the PDP gubernatorial candidate hails from, APC is leading in all the 3/17 wards results that has been collated so far with clear indication of APC leading with a wider margin compared to the President/Senatorial election result.

Indeed, the 'O To Ge' and 'O To Ope' slogan will go down in history as one of the strongest political move in Nigeria and kwara specifically.

Politics / Inec Confirm Oloriegbe; Apc Aspirant For The '19 Kwara Central Senatorial Electi by kwararedcard: 10:36am On Oct 17, 2018
THE National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has endorsed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) form 'C01' containing the Candidate biodata of Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe. The form was submitted some few hours ago at the Abuja's secretariat of the party.

With this development, Oloriegbe has been officially confirmed the Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate of the APC. He will attempt to dislodge the incumbent who is also the President of the Senate Dr Bukola Saraki in the 2019 General Elections.

The election of Oloriegbe has received wide acceptance from members of the constituency especially those who felt the incumbent (Saraki) has failed to churn in the much needed dividends of democracy to the people. Already, Oloriegbe has declared his emergence as a victory for the people, his Co contestants and the nation's burgeoning democracy. But he nevertheless believed that until the victory at the polls it was not yet 'uhuru'.

The APC Senatorial Candidate praised the top echelons of the party for their transparency and uprightness organising a formidable primary election where there was neither a victor nor a vanquished. He therefore urged all the members of the constituency to give him a chance to give them robust legislation at the Red Chambers, "by trooping out to cast their votes for Oloriegbe and the APC, our great party."

Politics / Oloriegbe Commends Esinrogunjo For Exhibiting Sportsmanship In The Primaries; by kwararedcard: 12:19pm On Oct 08, 2018
The Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2019 General Elections, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe has expressed his unalloyed gratitude and appreciation to the APC party leaders, elders, faithful members and the good people of his constituency over his victory at the recently conducted Primary Elections of the party.

Oloriegbe, a Medical Practitioner of note and a former Majority Leader of Kwara State House of Assembly, had the highest number of required majority votes to beat other aspirants in the keenly contested polls.

But in his humble manner and an exemplary display of heart of affection, Oloriegbe extended his warm affection to all the contestants in the said election particularly Comrade Musibaudeen Esinrongujo who was magnanimous in conceeding defeat even before the formal announcement of results of the election. He thanked them for putting up good spirits of sportsmanship before, during and after the elections.

Oloriegbe, who described his ambition as people driven and a desire to lead members of his constituency to their next level of socio-political and economic growth, said the journey was yet to be over.

He therefore solicited for the supports of "all my colleagues in our quests to change the fortune of our people for better" during the election proper.

"In life, we need to make a significant input ensuring that the future of our people is not jeopardized. It is not going to be a one man show, it has to be a collective effort. All our people should come together now to restore our values, heritage and rescue our future and those of all our children from the canals by ensuring true and sustainable development.

"I appreciate all my people, supporters and even those who support other aspirants. The future is brighter if we will all make today a reality. We can make it with Allah on our side."

The APC candidate appreciated the members of the National Working Committee of the party for their quintessential modalities leading to the successful conduct of the Primary Election just as he gave kudos to all the leaders of the party at the State, Local Government Areas (LGAs) and the wards level for their ingenuity at the organization and execution of the polls.

Collectively we can realize the Kwara of our Dreams

Oloriegbe Ibrahim Dr - Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate, APC.

Politics / Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe Wins Kwara Central APC Senatorial Primaries by kwararedcard: 11:11am On Oct 08, 2018
I have just received a call from the venue of our Primary Polls confirming my election as the Kwara Central Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of 2019 General Elections.

I give glory to Almighty Allah for churning out this victory to our side. Besides, I congratulate all my co aspirants for putting up a very, very hard-fought campaign. We indeed owe them a major debt of gratitude for their willingness and show of maturity to render selfless services to our constituency and her people.

I congratulate our great party, the APC for the smooth conduct of the elections and give kudos to all the members of the National Central Committee for doing a yeoman's job in this respect. Much appreciation is accorded members of our state's executive, down the pecking order of the party hierarchy. We salute the courage of all the delegates and we declare them the Heroes and heroines of the recorded success.

Now is the time for us all in this constituency to bind the wounds of division and get together as a people of great vision and unblemished candour.

To all the APC leaders both local and national, I say it is time for us to come together as one united people. I therefore pledge to every members of Kwara Central Senatorial District my core mandate that I will be Senator for all if given the opportunity to serve them at the Red Chambers.

For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I am reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so that we can work together and collectively salvage our people from age long deprivation and avoidable servitude.

Our call for support should not be viewed as a campaign, but rather be seen as an incredible and great movement made up of thousands of hard-working men and women, who love their constituency and want a better, brighter future for themselves and for their families.

It is a movement comprised of the aborigines and non natives but who are domiciled here. These great people are from all races, religions, backgrounds and beliefs but who are desirous of better future for the constituency.

Working together will assist us all to upstage those milking our collective commonwealth and put us on the great path of beginning the urgent task of rebuilding our electoral block and renew the Kwara Central dream.

I've spent my entire life and career looking at the untapped potential in projects and in people in many parts of the world. That is now what I want to do for our constituency if given a chance to serve them.

It is going to be a beautiful thing because every single members of the constituency will have the opportunity to realise his or her fullest potential. The forgotten men and women of our political zone will be consciously remembered for an egalitarian society.

We are going to fix our metropolis and rebuild our highways, bridges, neighbourhoods, schools and hospitals. We're going to rebuild our moribund infrastructure, and make it by the way, second to none constituency in Kwara state. We will in the process put thousands of our people to work as we rebuild it.

We will also take care of our aged ones. Our aged ones are incredible people. We will embark upon a project that will alleviate their poverty without necessarily traumatising them. Besides, We have a great economic plan in stock for everybody especially our teeming youths. No dream is too big and no challenge is too great.

There is nothing we want for our future that is beyond our reach. Kwara Central will no longer settle for anything less than the best. We must reclaim our stolen destiny. We will seek common ground, not hostility. Partnership, not conflict.

I love this constituency and I will give my very best to its socio-political and economic growth. Collectively we can rescue our today for a brighter future for our children. We count on you all for the overall victory at the D-day.

Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe Dr.

Politics / Saraki’ll Not Retain Kwara Senate Seat For PDP — Dr. Oloriegbe by kwararedcard: 3:52pm On Sep 28, 2018
Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe is an aspirant for Kwara Central Senatorial District, the seat Senate President, Bukola Saraki, won in 2015 on the platform of the APC. In this interview, Oloriegbe, who is a medical doctor like Saraki, said Kwara will be liberated by the progressives in 2019. Excerpts:

What informed your aspiration to represent Kwara Central in the senate?

I am concerned about the situation of Kwara Central; socially and economically. As you can see from my curriculum vitae and my background, I am a medical doctor and I have practiced here in Ilorin and other parts of Nigeria. I had privilege and opportunity to be part of government of this state when I was elected as a member of the House of Assembly. Before then, and during the time, I was aware of how the state was, particularly Ilorin Emirate communities. The life of the youths of today is not like the one we had in the 60s and 70s when we were brought up on the premise of our values and heritage under Islam; which is not only a religion, but a way of life. Why we lost the values is because in the last 15 years, we have not had leaders who understand the values and imbibed and practiced same. I said 15 years because before then, we didn’t know anything about cultism, youth restiveness, vandalism and area boys.

Secondly, you also see our women around the town begging for money. Ilorin used to be a hard working environment, but the political leadership has changed it because there is no true development. The Ilorin I knew while growing up was the one that gave value to both Islamic and western education because we started attending Qur’anic schools in Ilorin at age three where we learned the tenets of life, but that has been eroded by those that do not go through the system and have rendered everybody lazy, making them to want to get rich quick without working.

And how is our resources being utilised? I have had opportunity to work in many countries. I just returned from Liberia where I went to help them put their malaria programme in shape. Kwara is number five in terms of revenue generation, but no development to match it. Our social amenities are zero with nothing in our primary and secondary schools.

I attended a community school and I was able to compete with my mates at the university. Our education has been bastardised that some of the graduates we turn out in the state are not employable. I just established a firm in Ilorin for my people to benefit from, but I discovered that 70 per cent of those who applied are not employable.

I am not vying for an executive position, but a legislative one so as so facilitate some of what we need in the state. I am not contesting because I want to enrich myself and I can prove it because I don’t have anything I want to spend money on; all my children have graduated.

Why did you choose APC to vie for the senate seat?

I got elected as a Member of the Kwara State House of Assembly on the platform of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) between 1999 and 2003; and you may also wish to know that in 2011, I was the senatorial candidate of the ACN and people of Ilorin voted for me massively and I won the election; but I was not declared the winner and I went to court to challenge it because during that period, the vote from within the urban area was about 40 per cent but only 20 per cent were said to have turned out in rural areas which could not be justified with the reality on ground. I have always been a progressive and I have been consistent. There are other parties, but I believe in the manifesto of the APC and in the performance of the President of Nigeria because of his integrity.

I happened to be an adult during his time as a military head of state, I knew what happened then and what is happening now and I believe that the platform I could use to pursue my ambition is APC; and people of Ilorin also want change because they demonstrated it during last year’s local government elections. I am presenting myself for the job so as to be the person who will facilitate the change that the people are yearning for.

How do you see APC’s chances at the national level and in Kwara state in particular in 2019?

God gives power to who He wishes. The will of God will prevail, but let me add here that God does not support the oppressors. The people of Nigeria know who their oppressors are and have seen what is happening. Has PDP changed? The answer is no. The so called rebranding of PDP is being done by former looters who feel bad about the situation now; those who need to get power back to continue with the looting and those who lost privileges and want to get same back. The true people and the progressives are the ones who are still in APC. Kwarans demonstrated that they wanted change since last year and those who remained in PDP are opportunists.

In my view, APC will still win. Remember that Buhari has always won elections in Northern Nigeria, and with the defections, APC is getting more support in the South South and South East. Look at those defecting in the North, they are mostly those who are not popular at home. Some senators who defected cannot go back to their constituencies since then because many of them cannot win elections on their own. They won in 2015 because majority of them rode on the influence of Buhari. APC is much stronger and will win.

How do you think the issue of personal interest can be solved among the progressives in Kwara in order to take power from the current leadership?

I agree that ambition always beclouds reasoning…I was a victim of such in 2015, but I can say that lessons have been learnt from what happened in 2014, because then, there was an opportunity like this when progressives came together but could not manage it. During the rebirth of the APC in Kwara State after the defections, we agreed that everybody’s ambition is subsumed within the objective of the party and the main objective is to liberate Kwara, win Government of Kwara and deliver Kwara for President Muhammadu Buhari because there is only one seat for every position we are vying for and whoever gets it should be supported by all; I subscribe to that.
