Politics › Re: Those From West Are Still Ignorant On River Niger by Kyase(m): 9:38pm On May 20, 2020
junketer:
I still don't understand why the yorubas keep jumping into every thread to list the disadvantages of igbos leaving nigeria for biafra. Can someone explain it to me? Igbos want to leave, you are against that. Igbos remain in nigeria, you are against that. Igbos talk about being president, you are against that. Igbos don't talk about being president, you are against that too. I mean, what's with all these?
na love cheesy cheesy
The point is River Niger is already international waterway, The Niger Basin has been governed by a series of agreements in the post-colonial era, one of the already established treaties is "the integral parts of the Niger River, should be open to international traffic, with equal treatment for nationals of all states regarding tolls. The Niger River Commission was also tasked with ensuring the safety and control of navigation and facilitating the movement of vessels." this hasn't been implemented because we are still in one nation , if every regions decide to go their separate ways, know that this is one area east and north will come together, River Niger channel is more important to north, because that's the only river from ocean that transverse to northern states, unlike east with Imo River with shortest route to the sea, north leaders know this, expect few Yorubas that chosen to be ignorant because it will favour Igbos which is more closer to the sea than the north, but the fact they can't change, the already existing treaties than govern Niger Basin Authority, we are still in one nation, that's main reason east and north are reluctant on dredging and maintaining River Niger, mind you
the Lower Niger has been dredged twice, first in 1958 by NEDECO and secondly by a consortium of LCHF/Westminster Dredging Company, in 1978 from Baro through Lokoja to Onitsha, Onya to Warri/Port Harcourt. Due to lack of maintenance, the entire dredged channel has silted up. If Nigeria cease to exist the channel will be fully dredge and maintain to accommodate bigger vessels, it's an international route and nobody will block any of the members of NBA from using, that's if Nigeria cease to exist. Your social media ranting, twisting and fabricating stories to suit your narratives can't change the fact that River Niger is an international waterway, I'm fully aware Imo River with the shortest route from the east to Sea is not yet international. waterway, but till then.
weya southwest come talk una own.....
this is the most sensible reply since this landlock campaign start...op bravo

senatordave1:
Late brigadier wellington was the first commissioned officer of the Nigerian army.he was commissioned 2 months before aguiyi ironsi and ademulegun were commissioned.I think his no was NA1 and WA1.he was senior to ironsi by a few months just as buhari was senior to ibb and abacha and they never overtook him in rank.how did ironsi become a major general before wellington? As the most senior officer in Nigerian army, the British general was supposes to handover to him when they left.what really happened? Oga metaphysical, you will be needed here.

this is a question for financial experts. who would have taught Kano is as poor as it is today. it used to be one of the biggest cities in west Africa. so something must have gone wrong with enugu too.

one thing am certain about is that, the guys at NBS would not be stupid to release false and arbitrary result, because we have too many people in the country that would burst their bubble.
time will tell
Politics › Re: Who developed Lagos Ports: Myth Busted. by Kyase(m): 7:04pm On May 18, 2020
Maadoo:
I even thought you were smart. In trying to dismiss the effort of those developing Lagos, you also didn't or couldn't prove that yorubas developed Lagos.

Who were the ruling elites before independence at the federal level and in Lagos? The colonial masters. Hence they employed the manpower from all tribes to which igbos were heavily represented. Resources were contribute by all region to the federal purse, and of-course, Lagos was the capital of Nigeria and as a British colony, enjoyed unlimited developmental attention.

Even at that, In 1954, there was no lekki, there was no Gbagada, there was no Ajao estate, there was no Ajah, there was no Amuwo odofin, there was no Ago palace way, there was no gowon estate, there was no Buckner in Okota. There are so many places not that we’re never there. Was it the white man that developed it? The Lagos the white man left at independence is not the same as what it is today except you mean, Lagos hasn’t change since the Whitman left. The real developers of Lagos aside government projects, are the individual real estate developer, converting slums, farmland and settlements to prime real estate quaters, either for commercial or residential use. The industrialist, company Onwers, market man and women keeping the economy running and of course oil money from niger delta oiling there pocket of the government, which it uses to support for roads, water, electricity Development and other amenities.

Nigeria had her independence in 1960 and oil boom started in 1970. Cocoa money only developed Ibadan. Third mainland bridge was oil money, cocoa money started OAU in ibadan before moving to its permanent site in Ile ife with A single building serving as the vice chancellors building but now converted to faculty of agriculture. That was the only building constructed with cocoa money. The rest was oil money. 3rd mainland bridge is oil money.

The East was controlled by the Eastern tribes with Enugu as it’s capital, West by majorly the yorubas with Ibadan as it’s capital. The same way igbos migrated to Lagos is the same way majority yorubas migrated to Lagos.

If you want to talk of Yoruba development. Talk of Ibadan and stop trying to steal or downplay other people’s effort.

Ibadan is your shame, deal with it .
Remove that last line then you nailed it........
now make i see who go dispute this fact....... grin grin

You are this and that, are all audio statistics. Ask your people in the board of the NBS how the result was arrived at. Go to the NBS website to see those their board.

How come you are the only ones disputing the result? My advice, you should step up! That is why they release those stats in the first place. All the best!
hmmm, i dont have problem with the stats entirely, i only have question on that south east and benue vs kogi........ every other one is believable

Let them continue playing victim! That would not stop the fact that they are the poorest in southern Nigeria. The north central should have also done well for themselves if not the instability in their region.
