Some cash(shouldn't exceed 10USD and bank statement. Sometimes debit cards. henricson: Please guys, what does one use to show proof of funds I asked at port of entry? I presume school fees receipt for first semester at least and cash? |

Thanks much henricson: I'll answer based on my experience. She can use investment accounts as part of home tie in addition to hubby. I used my treasury bills since I have no land at moment, and didn't have documents to prove that of my dad. But she still needs to have an account showing readily available funds which she will use to sponsor her program. If salary accounts of hubby and herself is sufficient, she can use that and add hubby as co sponsor.
Secondly, if you are to terminate, funds should be present having inflow and outflow for at 6months I think.
Thirdly, she needs her passport original and photocopy to go do upfront medicals, she'll be given a paper to upload for online application or submit for paper application.
Lastly, I also got the co op work permit thing from Humber college, she can apply when she gets the visa and is in Canada. This is what I plan to do also. But in her application she should upload the acceptance letter showing mandatory co op work permit as a proof for work requirement for study. She should also fill this in her questionnaire.
I hope this helps... I stand corrected on any information given so fat |

Hi gurus, Kindly assist with this: Graduated with a B.SC in Computer Science 2003. Yet to have any Post Graduate qualification, she has worked for over 13years in Financial Institutions, with over 11 years in the Bank as a Business Development Manager. She is 36, married with a 2 year old daughter. Has travel history(US and UK). Both her and hubby have properties(on mortgage though).plan to take daughter along.
Was able to get Admission into Humber college within 2 weeks of application to study PGC Global Business Management.
Now, talking about putting docs together for the study permit, starting from the Bank statement, being a self sponsor plus husband a co sponsor they currently have their funds in investment accounts and not current account. Though their current accounts are transactional in that they receive salaries as inflows and also withdraw(outflows)
Q1- Can the investment account statements be used for the study permit application or they"'ll need to terminate into current account Q2 - If they have to terminate, how long are the funds expected to be in their current accounts before they can print the statements? Q3-Whats the process for upfront medicals? Is there a specific form to be printed and taken along to the hospital? She live in Lagos. Q4 - Humber has asked she applies for a co-op work permit alongside student permit, at what stage will she do this?
Kindly assist with these enquiries and advise generally considering her profile.
Thank you. |

Hi Henricson, thank you. Another plea to assist with your email if you don't mind... henricson: From what I saw on my correspondence letter, I think this stated on the study permit issued at point of entry. Co op work permit should also have been stated in your application, with an uploaded document showing it as a requirement. |

Congrats again. henricson: Guys please l have never booked a flight overseas before, so finding it difficult. For those who traveled from Lagos to Toronto, please how did you guys get a cheap flight that didn't require a transit visa? I'm looking up flights in December, and don't know what I am to look for. |

How has interactions with the natives been? Being a French speaking City.. SirVal94: Landing Gist
Hi all!!! I safely arrived Montreal Canada three days ago. I flew Lufthansa from Lagos to Frankfurt (6 hours 30 mins), and Air Canada from Frankfurt to Montreal (7 hours 30 mins). Both flights were very smooth. At POE, I was asked why I am resuming late. I told the immigration officer that I had a visa delay, he further asked if my university is aware of my resuming late, I showed him a letter from my professor, saying he is still willing to accommodate me in his lab and allow me resume the term. When he saw the letter, he said "good, good, we are good". After that he issued my study permit. So for some of you just issued study visa, you may want to ask for a letter from from institution, permitting you to resume late.
Before exiting the airport, you'll pass through another immigration check. Those akpo people search my luggage, and collected my milk and milo . But no wahala, they can have the milk so far I enter their country. You will be asked to declare what items are in your luggage. You have to very truthful. If I was not truthful, I would have been fined, that is a very bad way of entering Canada. Don't bring meat and meat products.
Canada is simply beautiful. Canadians treat you with respect and are always ready to help you, at least that is what I have experienced so far.
For those still hoping and waiting, God go do am for you. |

Thanks much henricson: A week is still too early. Depending on the program you applied for, it could take months to get response from the school. When I applied for mine, I applied for fall program 2018 (September) in January 2018, but I was wait listed, so I quickly applied for winter 2019 (January) and summer 2019 (may) programs in case I don't get September 2018 admission. I got admitted for January 2019 on may 31, 2018. Later on in July, I got a mail for a seat in September 2018 if I was still interested. I had to decline cause there wouldn't be enough time to process visa.
Admission could take months, so be patient. I would advise you apply for other schools or sessions in same school so you don't lose either ways. I wish you all the best.
Forget about medical and police report until you have gotten admission. Police report is valid for 3 months so it might expire before you even get admitted and apply for visa Medicals is valid for a year though. |

Congrats. henricson: I'm Henricson, the guy that always asked so many questions on part 14. I want to appreciate frankboh, jnjuwa, lagos2canna, infact everybody. You guys are too much.
School: Humber college Program: Post graduate certificate Course: Project management Online application submitted on September 12, 2018 Biometrics done on September 21st, 2018 Medicals passed October 10, 2018 Passport request October 11, 2018.
My application status is still on background check.
Documents submitted: All cic documents SOP 2 and half pages Birth certificate Resume SSCE certificate NYSC Statement of results for bsc in banking and finance, and MBA. Original certificate still in process. Bsc was 2008, MBA 2012 Transcript for bsc, just sent that of MBA the day before yesterday. Proof of finance: My dad's acct of a little over 3m, pension statement of almost 5m & sponsorship letter, My uncle who is a citizen and co sponsor just attached his employment letter showing how much he earns (no acct statement or fund transfer, he works for government of Nunavut though), citizenship certificate and sponsorship letter. First semester School fees receipt (8,095.50 cad) and invoice I had treasury bills of 1.1m and also pension of 400k plus, didn't submit SOA. Employment letter, no letter of introduction from company Company ID Up front medical done on July 31, 2018 Police report done August 15, 2018
I had no landed properties document though I am a first son to my dad, but his houses have no full documentation which I didn't have the time to purse.
I decided to put my full details for those who still doubt it's impossible for post graduate diplomas or certificate applications to get approval. Funny enough I even have a masters. And I'm 31 Secondly, I work in customer care telecommunications, and stated in my sop that I wish to change career path to project management to avail myself with abounding project management jobs in telecommunication. So career path change is possible. Lastly, based on what I have seen here I wouldn't say I have strong home ties, I just stated in sop that I needed to better myself as a first son to be able to take care of my parents and 4 other siblings.
If my application was disserted here, truth is I would be told not a tight application . But I did my best based on what little I had available and relied on God to perfect everything, and I strongly believed... Thank you Jesus. I wouldn't lie I didn't fast and pray, but I prayed fervently.
I just did a implant hardware removal surgery for a tibia fracture I had in an automobile accident last year. Have to walk with crutches for at least 3-6weeks until holes left by screws have healed considerably, but that won't stop me from bursting into vfs on Monday.
BTW... For those who have done ppr, hope I can get my passport back before Friday on 26/10/2018 as I'm to resume work on Sunday being 28/10/2018.
Please forgive my long epistle, I'm so happy. For all trv hopefuls, don't give up. I'm a living testimony. |

Hi all, Kindly advise! I graduated with B.Sc Computer Science some 15 years ago. Work experience has been in Business development/marketing/sale/financial planning, spanning about 13 years. I'm yet to have a 2nd degree and I just applied to a college in Canada to study a 2 year graduate certificate course in Global Business Management. I'm I likely to be granted study permit? |

Linzo: Yes! Its true that degree applicant's are more favor in getting TRV due to the study duration, however, having obtained Bsc already in home country may raises some eyeball but that shouldn't deter you from applying. Try construct a good SOP emphasize the fact that accounting education wasn't your career part but rather pure Accounting, try explain how your former institution force you into education, that you have stood up to take your future in your hands now, and how your previous knowledge and study experience will help you excel in your chosen career. Just look for more good reason for second bachelor degree and have at least five bullet points to buttress your reasons.
Getting a master's degree offer in Canada if you're not a 2:1 holder may pose a bit difficulty for you, so degree will be best for you because you will be given 2yrs of study while HND holder are normally given 3yrs of study. Move on with your plans and pray for Gods favor |
