i meant that the screening we all know is always aftet one has been admitted not bfor admission.

The normal criteria is more than o level n jamb but that is after admission.I cant say for now cos unilag have never done pre-admission screening bfor that i know bout. But he shuld get his original jamb result ready and probably any means of ID that he partook in d last concluded exam.


Birth cert. n state of origin cert too can be in place.

Morning.The school knows bout that too so the screening period would be adjusted to the time o level result will be out.

So i finished from LAUTECH but i insisted my younger brother must go to a federal university at least if we cant afford to study abroad. U.I was few steps away from home, OAU strikes a lot so we decided on UNILAG. With this whole jamb and no post utme stuff, i decided to find out from someone at the school. My contact told me it was viRtually impossible to study any engineering course in UNILAG without Further mathematics. He even shared with me that he was also a victim of the same issue years ago and he resulted in studying chemistry.. House he is passionate about Chemical Engineering... Advice Please..................

Your brother should go n retake o level now including f/maths and all results must be made in one sitting.

Malpractice is constant though but at least people will see the value of their effort in the exam than seeing score that one will be like "who owns this result?"

Is it possible for jamb to allow student do their CBT exam in soul of their choice. Students who pick Unibadan should be allowed to write their utme at UI same will apply to those who picked Unilag. So there won't be much talk about poor logistics.

Some might say what if the person who wants to apply is staying at Kaduna. My reply will be, during post utme candidates traveled all the way from far distance to write post utme at Ibadan and Lagos.

My take on this

PPT should be restored but if it cant be then this should be carried out for CBT


1) A week proper check of CBT center and provision of power supply.
2) Employment of Professional IT personnel
3) Daily check and test run of the computer used with a day interval
4) Duration of JAMB examination should be extended,a month isn't too bad,we'll just assume itz waec or neco.

nah...i disagree cos the new method doesn't state that supplementary list should not be given.You know after Jamb myt hv shortlisted candidate the school too has it cut off and those deficient of d cut off might be offered another course thru same supplementary.

From Jamb's website you can find that they said the point grading won't favour students, which means they are not using it, as long as you have c6 and above in your 5 important subjects, your o'level result is very useful. Also, from what you posted...Jamb also said no other screening like oral or test should be conducted by universities. The screening is only verifying waec and jamb results, and other things. So, there's no stress on Waec. They are not using the point method, therefore it can't increase special centres. [/email]

Big up to the minister for making education accessible for all irrespective of ur status having masses interests at heart considering economy plight of this nation ensuring no more extortions by these institutions, milking the populace dry in educating them. But the big question is, can jamb live up to expectation making sure lopsidedness is no more in their conducts as regards to yearly worrisome comments by candidates against this body? Only time will tell..

Depending on JAMB at first instance is a big mistake and now on the o level i the biggest of all.Now miracle centers will increase thr price and most ppl will be coming for screening with all As.I think JAMB and FG have something fishy and itz surely a crooked way.The dumb modality wateva is total mistake...JAMB should be sent packing or else they came bck to PPT.

GUIDELINES FOR ADMISSIONS INTO TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS IN NIGERIA

Sequel to the recent workshop convened by the
honourable minister of education on the modalities for
admissions into tertiary institutions in Nigeria, the
federal government hereby approves the following
guidelines for admissions:

1. presentation of the lists of candidates who qualify
for screening into individual based on the stipulated
guidelines by JAMB (find hereby enclosed);

2. screening should not demand for another test in
any form either written, oral or electronic;

3. candidates are to present their senior school
certificate examination (SSCE) results/Advance Level
(AL) results for verification and clearing purposes;

4. WAEC, NECO, NABTEB results or equivalent are
acceptable as matriculation requirements;
