I don't know if this is wickedness or just a ploy to make more money...A Nigeria lady from Portharcourt, Rivers state named Shyne Anyanwu took to Facebook this morning on the incident she faced today.. She posted on Facebook that she bought meatpie and on eating it, she found that it wasn't actually meat pie, rather it was filled with beans. And I started wondering if the seller thought she asked for beans pie. Here is what she wrote on Facebook " I can't laugh alone, bought beans pie in the name of fish pie, what is this country turning into? After people will complain that Aba sells fake stuff, port Harcourt people una well done" "Aba people una still dey learn work, port Harcourt, I dey hail una" See more @ www.sundayjoe.com/2017/05/lady-finds-beans-in-meatpie-she-bought.html

This news just came in and I decided to share it, a man known as Marco Antoine (photo above) is to be sentenced fully to ten years imprisonment due to his unforgivable crime committed. He was said to have tricked ten fully grown women to have sex with him, in a disguise that they were doing an audition for special roles in a pornographic movie. According to what a court in Kansas said, that the accused Marco Antonio has so many identities online, some of which include him being a photographer, a videographer, and a talent manager. He also said he worked for a fictitious pornographic production company (like play boy asia) just to lure the women in and have sex with them promising them thousands of dollars to appear in a film that doesn’t exist. When the women involved complained about them not being paid, Antonio blackmails them by sending images of their sexual activities to their bosses and other people of importance to them, so they won’t go further. According to independent news, there was an incident where he promised one of the women involved a thousand dollars ($1000, about 775 pounds), for each shoot she participated in, and when it was time for payment, he told her he was going to sell her sexual images, if she didn’t have sex with him again. What led to his arrest was him promising ten other women between five hundred and fifty thousand dollars to one million, five hundred thousand dollars to have sex with him. He pleaded guilty to one of the accusations and the court will sentence him to ten years imprisonment, and he also has to pay all his victims compensation (the amount has not been agreed upon). He also has other fraudulent activities in the past, like when he was a wedding photographer, he usually collects advance payments for his photography services and fails to show up for the event. Some people don't just know when to quit, do they? I am talking about potential businessmen who never give up no matter the circumstances facing their business. There are times when one has to let go of that business or the business environment and relocate to a new one for personal growth and financial growth. In this article, I will be listing what must happen before someone into business decides to leave. It may interest you that it isn't always that if a business isn't working out as expected that one should leave it and jump into another investment, the problem may be from the individual directly himself and not from the business. Some factors may affect that, factors like. FACTORS THAT AFFECT FAILURE OF BUSINESS (INDIVIDUAL PROBLEMS) 1. NOT MANAGING THE BUSINESS PROPERLY: it may be that you are not managing the business properly and to me, businesses are like lovers, if you do not mange them properly, there is a 90% chance of them giving up on you. So if that is the problem, fix it as quick as possible. 2. NOT EMPLOYING THE RIGHT WORKERS: just last week, I posted an article on 'businesses that one can venture into as a student' and I listed about 15 of them, which has been helpful to a lot of people who took their time to read it carefully. In that article, most of the businesses I listed requires that you employ someone you can trust, the same with the keke napep business for those who don't want to ride it themselves, and slme employees treat business that is not theirs anyhow, because they believe the loss is not on them. So if that is the case, then you also have to fix that. 3. UNNECESSARY IN THE PRICE OF YOUR PRODUCTS: What consumers want is a place where they can get what they want at an affordable price and if your price is not good enough for them, you may end up loosing your customers. 4. CONSUMING YOUR OWN PRODUCTS: let me give you an instance of these, I believe I talked about it when I was writing on how to 'start a provision store in Nigeria', but I will tell it again here, there was a provision store that whenever I go to get something as a consumer, I find that the owner of the shop and the children always feast on the product in the shop, either they take nutri milk today or viju milk tomorrow, and it got so consistent that they couldn't keep up with it again. Even If you are so tempted to eat it, make sure the quantity taken doesn't affect your business. 5. TREATING YOUR CUSTOMERS WRONGLY: you may be wondering that "is there a special way customers have to be treated?" Of course, there is a special way. How you relate with them sometimes determine if they would patronise you next time, that's why if most companies want to employ staffs, they first of all ask about your human relationship, how well you interact with other people. So if you are lagging on that, work on it. But all the ones listed above are for those whose businesses are still good to go but just need some little adjustments for it to function properly, the main aim of this article is for one to know when to stop a business and start another one. WHEN TO QUIT A BUSINESS Quitting is not a good quality of a business man but there are times when you just have to let go, in a moment, I would be listing some of them and you should watch out for them, so when you see that it starts occurring, you can invest in another business quickly. 1. WHEN THE COMPETITION BECOMES SO UNHEALTHY: There are some competitions that are stupidly unhealthy, how will you be in a place where you are selling a product and there are 20 other people selling the same products close to you and you are probably at the middle. When the competition starts becoming so unhealthy, the people patronising you may reduce drastically, like in my area which starting with just one provision store but now has up to 30. Before I get to the first provision store that opened , I will pass up to 10 others. Tell me why i shouldn't stop at any of them to purchase and I will tell you why sun can't roast a cow..lol. 2. BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT DOESN'T SUPPORT YOUR BUSINESS: in any business setting, the environment matters a lot, for example, you are not expected to 'start a cyber cafe business' where people can't see it, in the business like cyber cafe, one is meant to start it if possible by the major road,. Sonia your business environment doesn't support it, then change it. 3. WHEN THE BUSINESS DOESN'T INTEREST YOU ANYMORE: If you notice that you are no longer enjoying the business, due to one reason or another, maybe it is because the profit ks declining drastically or what have you, then you should flee as quick as possible else, you will end up waiting and wasting a lot of time that you should have used to invest in another business. As students in school mainly higher institutions, many people face a lot of hard times and the likes of it, due to lack of enough finances to take care of their daily need in school. Most times, the money sent to students by their parents or relatives are not usually enough, so some involve themselves in social vices like stealing or bullying others to claim what is not theirs in form of cultism, robbery and so on. Today I won’t be writing about the wrong ways to get money as students neither would I encourage anyone to involve him/ herself in stealing, rather I would be writing about different businesses that one can get involved in as students and make cool cash while meeting up with his usual day to day school activities. Businesses for students in higher institutions come in different forms, depend on the one you decide to pick because in this article, I would be listing just 15 of them so there can be a wide range of choice for you to make and how to go about them, if you wish to know. 15 BUSINESSES THAT STUDENTS CAN INVOLVE THEMSELVES IN This economic recession we are facing right now in Nigeria is not making people smile these days and it hits students more, well, students that depend mainly on parents’ money though, but it can be ended today, once you can find one of these to lay your hands upon to do. They are; BLOGGING: I started with blogging because I am into it myself, since from my 100 level. The fun thing about blogging especially for those that love writing is that it is very interesting. You write stuffs that people wants to read and people interested in such topic comments on it and it brings about a discussion or conflict among people and with that going on, you are making your money in the process. Many students run from blogging because they believe it takes most of your study hours, but blogging isn’t really that way…the fact that you see linda ikeji blog or bella naija blog or laila’s blog posting up to 30 different post in a day doesn’t mean you would do the same. In blogging as a student, you need to discover what you love writing about most, is it about fashion, is it about technology, entertainment and so on, just something that you know that even if someone wake you up from a deep sleep, you can easily write about them. Then try to drive traffic to your blog from social media platforms. Which won’t be difficult to do especially for students in this generation where social media is life to. Once that is done, the next step is to register to different advert networks, I know of a few like Google Adsense, Bidvertiser, Chitika and so on, you can check online for some more on that. Another misconception about blogging that people make is that one has to do it every day that is not true. You can decide to post just one very long post in a week then promote it online, or two or three, whichever you can do and still have time to study well and would be convenient for you. Note that blogging business is sweet for those who enjoy writing. If you don’t enjoy writing like I do, then blogging is not for you, and also as student try not to dedicate all your time on it, you get paid by ad networks by the amount of people that view their adverts on your site and not by the number of post you make available on your site. Without wasting any more time on this, let me move further to the next which is; YOUTUBE BUSINESS: One thing I love about the youtube business is that, anyone can go into it and it is very easy to make money through it as students provided one uses the right strategies. Videos communicates faster than write-ups. You can decide to start your own youtube page which is very easy to do, then know what your page is all about. You can decide to post videos on comedy, News updates, Talk shows and so on, just know what it should be about, because if you post comedy today, and tomorrow you post videos on talk shows, it would be very difficult for you to have a target audience, maybe your family members can be your target audience though, then drive people to your page the same way blogging works by doing it through social media or telling a lot of people about your YouTube page and what they can find there. Now I’m sure you are waiting for the money making part already, let your mind be at rest, it is coming now. The best and the one I advice most people to do when trying to make money through their youtube videos is through Adsense, the approval is very quick and they have two ways of paying their publishers, one is Cost Per Click (CPC) and the other is Cost per Impression (CPM), Cost per click works in a way that when people watch the video you post online and clicks on the adverts that displays on the video, whether it is by mistake or intentionally, a percentage of money goes into your adsense account, while cost per impression is the money you get when people just view the adverts on your site without clicking it, the last I heard was that they pay $1 for 1000 persons that views it, so imagine you can make your video reach out to 1 million persons, that means you make $1000 which when exchanged in Nigerian currency now (using N300 per dollar), you have N300,000 sitting down in your room in schools and going for your normal lectures and smiling hard. You can decide to post a video of you pursuing your dog or a video of your dog pursuing you, it doesn’t really matter, as far as a lot of people are watching your video, your money keeps falling in. PRINTING: Students prints a lot of documents, especially in their final year when they are doing their projects and other things, on can seize that great opportunity to make money from that, you can decide to buy the printer, preferably the three-in-one so you can scan, print, and even photocopy. Before I proceed any further, I would like to give a short story of how one of my roommate used this business to sustain himself all through the days in school, what he did then was that he used his year one in school to understand how that business would work out in school, with his N15,000, he got one printer, where he started running the business in his hall of residence, making people around aware that he was printing. As time went on, he had more and more customers and he got enough money to purchase another printer which he placed in another hall of residence and someone there to run it for him and he is to pay the person a percentage of whatever he made in a week, when he was in his final year (400 level), his printing printing was in the whole 10 hall of residence in the school. Because of how business oriented he was, he was made the president of Business Administration Department. Isn’t that wonderful? I am sure that by now, an idea must have sparked in your head. You can start the business with so little and gain so much, but in case you are not interested in this type of business, here is another you can try; TUTORIAL AND LECTURING: Here I’m not talking about the one where you apply for a job as a lecturer, it won’t even happen because you are still a student. Some students know a particular thing that others want to learn by all means and are willing to pay to learn it, let me take an instance of an engineering student who knows autocad, orion, staadpro and the likes and is need of cash. Your knowledge is enough to earn you cash. When most engineering student leave school to look for a job, the company usually ask them if they know either one of these softwares, one can teach them these at a fee. When I was learning staadpro then, the tutor collected N1000 each from each student and we are 70 in a class, so totally, per lecture, he collected N70,000. You can imagine how much the man is making, but it might not be on a software, it can be on other stuffs you want to lecture them on. Like in my previous article and the subsequent ones I will write, I will always say that in this economic crisis that we are currently facing in our country Nigeria, business investment is the best way to live comfortably and I’m not talking about the kind of investment that only brings three square meals to your table daily, I am talking about the kind of one that you will even have more than enough to start a new investment. Previously also, I have written loads of businesses that one can go into without any sweat, they were not written from personal thoughts, rather they were written as a result of research taken over the years. Some of them requires very low capital to start up while some others requires a whole lot of money to start. Today I will be writing about a very interesting topic, one that so many people going into investment or those fully into it fall victim of in this present days. That is ‘when investment becomes sin-vestment’. You may be a little confused about the term sin-vestment, well, let your mind be at rest. We are all familiar with the term investment. Investment means different things to different people, I did an interview involving several people asking what investment mean to them and each and every one of them had a lot of things to them. To me, investment is simply placing a certain amount of money hoping to have more money in the future that is capital + profit. Any investment that doesn’t have profit is bad investment and can be as a result of sin-vestment. WHAT IS SIN-VESTMENT? Sin-vestment is simply a term used when one is not investing right. Many are victims of this, but don’t even know that they are doing that. But I will show you some sin-vestment, so if you want to start a business investment or you are running one, you can easily stop it or avoid it. 5 SIN-VESTMENTS THAT ONE SHOULD TAKE NOTE OF 1. INVESTING IN THE WRONG BUSINESS: This is very common especially to new investors, many people invest in the wrong type of business, they enter into such business because they ‘feel’ it is lucrative when they watch it from afar or they see people like dangote succeeding in sugar business and boom, they also want to jump into such. This may work for some people as investment, but may not work for others. Also what I mean by ‘wrong business’ is that business that you think is for you, but cannot be run by you, because you know almost nothing about it. How can you get out of this? The only way one can get out of this sin-vestment is by doing what you are passionate about, invest in what you want to see. You shouldn’t invest in fish farming business as a new investor without knowing anything about it (you might do it later), but first do what you love and what you are passionate about, then as you are doing that, you can start developing your skill in the other business, find out vital information about the business and groom yourself in it. Once that is completed, you can now invest in the business. This is because while developing your skills on the business and finding vital information about it, the passion for such business comes naturally and with so much joy you would invest in it. But note that if after sometime of that and you don’t still find anything nice in it (not talking about the profit alone though), then you should totally quit. 2. INVESTING IN THE WRONG PLACE: The place you place your investment matters very well, like in this present days, you can’t say you would start buying shares and other stocks, your money would only get stuck if that is done. But the place I mean majorly is the location, like when I wrote about ‘starting a lucrative cyber café business in Nigeria’, I made mention that if you locate you café in a place where nobody knows it is there, you will end up finishing your own data and that won’t be nice, doesn’t go for only café, other businesses too. Like land, land can be very very lucrative when you invest properly in it. You can’t invest in a land that is deep into the bush and the period that the place would get developed is the next 20 to 30 years in a fast track investment, lest you would only use the returns during your retirement. 3. NOT THINKING INNOVATION: The major cause why businesses growing at first later have a very big plunge downward is because of lack of innovation. Innovation goes a long way in the development or maintenance of any business in the fact that it keeps you in the business and it makes you a step ahead of your competitors. When some people go into business they usually don’t consider this. Just imagine you are running a dry cleaning business in your area probably and you have been running it for quite some time, later you found out that you are not the only one doing it in your area, there are like five other people doing the same dry cleaning business. The only way to live above that is to innovate. You may decide to transport their clothes to their houses instead of allowing them to come down to your place to collect it, or you look for another way to make your dry cleaning process much faster. And another thing innovation does for you apart from keeping you in business is to maintain your customers. So try to innovate in any business you find yourself, so that you won’t sin-vest.
