Babalegba:
Lol Japan intervened in the market to save the yen about six weeks ago. Why didn't they leave everything to market forces
That's not a negation of the free economy. Investors are being driven to offload the yen due to a yawning gulf in interest rates between Japan and the United States. The US Central Bank cut interest rates thereby affecting the Japanese market.
Saving jobs and keeping the financial system and banks' credit rantings is the economic and monetary decision of their central bank, not the political echelon

Free Economy has a different definition and has nothing to do with cessation of social welfare and subsidies.

Bibi Netanyahu has proved that it exists.

Read how he successfully liberated Israel’s economy, which helped turn it into a global powerhouse of technological innovation.

Tinubu failed Practical Economics 209 and Applied Statistics 208.
President Tinubu needs to bring back Iweala and Adesanya to engage in International Monetary politics and local reorientation policy.
Iweala should go back to Finance while Adesanya go back to Agriculture.

Because it is far better

Great anthem indeed. Here it is:

Nigeria we hail thee,
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,
Nigerians all, and are proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.

O God of all creation,
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may shall be blessed.

One good thing from BAT
(In other areas he remains cllueless!)😆
They are complaining and you still quoted the wrong Anthem.

Asaba is the state capital, it is impossible to carve out the capital into another state of a different region.

Enugu was the Capital of Anambra State when Enugu State was created with Enugu as the Capital of the new State while Anambra State got a new Capital from scratch.

That was the Window dressing

The Main Message was

(d) for the purposes of administration, each group of provinces shall, subject to the authority of the Head of the National Military Government
be under the general direction and control of a Military Governor appointed by the Head of the National Military Government;
How can you claim this was window dressing when resource control wasn't abolished and every instrument of regional governance was intact? Regional structures were retained.
Politics › Re: The Sentence That Ended Regionalism In Nigeria by LadyExcellency: 4:57pm On Jun 09, 2024
TimeManager:
Military never works with the Constitution, whenever the military takes over, the Constitution becomes suspended immediately. Aguiyi ironsi immediately suspended the constitution, and political parties and cultural associations were also suspended. Nobody can ever rewrite history. Go and read the speeches of Aguiyi Ironsi on Jan 18, 1966 and Feb 21, 1966. A Part of his speech says " Nigerians want an end to regionalism and activities that lead to tribal consciousness and sectional interests must give way to an era of national unity". Decree 34 took away the autonomy of the regions while they merely existed on paper.

-Kiss the truth!
It was rewritten there as plain as white that the constitution of each region remains for the time being. Can't you read? It will interest you that I am not taking a side than looking into the gazetted decrees and not political or biased news publications.

You want someone to spoon-fed you like baby. The decree withdraw all regional government functions to federal government and you are still asking senseless question.
And the constitutions of regional governments and resource control were still in place and not abolished. So what does that imply?

He took away their power and also kept their constitution. Does that make sense to you?
The Constitution is the supreme document of any State from where every power is derived until abolished or suspended. As such, he didn't end regionalism because resource control was still in place at the time.

When you take away their power...what do you call that?

You think people are Mumu like IPOB members wey Nnamdi Kanu dey feed nonsense on radio Biafra.
From what I am reading from the thread you don’t have logical arguments, you have reductive arguments.

Secondly, you shouldn't be rash and brutish if you will ever prove a point. I can also be another mother to you, may have taught you in college or mentored your siblings in some multinationals. You don't throw words indiscriminately at someone who never attacked you. This is my advice as an older adult to you.
Politics › Re: The Sentence That Ended Regionalism In Nigeria by LadyExcellency: 4:22pm On Jun 09, 2024
Aguiyi Ironsi kept the constitutions of different regions and hence kept the core governing principles of the regions

Politics › Re: The Sentence That Ended Regionalism In Nigeria by LadyExcellency: 4:15pm On Jun 09, 2024
Even from what was posted. Ajuiyi Ironsi still retained and didn't abolish the constitutions of each region.

In government, the Constitution is supreme.

Wage award is not the main obstacle to salary increases. Adding N30,000 to lower-income earners doesn't mean you add the same to professors. Some will get N200000 added to theirs based on grade level in the service.

But this Hamas get liver sha, Israel that defeated league of arab nations na e small Hamas want to confront
That is what it takes to fight a war of annihilation. One thing is to promise to wipe off an ethnic group and the second one is to attempt it. Hamas and by extension the Arabs went too far.

It is either the whole world is erased or Israel is allowed to live in peace.

Which care?

Who doesn't know that Heritage Bank has been having issues?

Who doesn't know that the NDIC is mandated by Law to pay depositors of failed banks up to #5m of their deposit?

Tell me one thing Obi said here that's new?

Obi is a confirmed surreptitious person, a deceitful person just trying to pretend to love Nigerians more than others.

We're still waiting for his statement on the killing of 5 soldiers in Aba last week.
What is new from his opinion is that Peter Obi wants them (depositors) to be paid in full instead of N5 million. Most businesses and SMEs have up to N100 million in that bank and what next? They will file for bankruptcy and more hardships.

Most of your criticism of Peter Obi is filled with bitterness and aggression because Tinubu is a failure and secondly these stem from tribalism and clannishness.

Tinubu got 8m+ votes while Atiku and Obi combined got 12m+.
Was this pre-planned by the system for this eventual outcome?

Bro, at 60k minimum wage, the cost of commodities will increase significantly, workers will be laid off, and people will suffer. NLC is misguided
Have you ever worked in civil or public service? Do you know how the present economic situation is biting the workers?

Starvation wage is worse than inflation. It breeds corruption and nonproductivity.

Stop forming opinions on subjects you know nothing about.

Where do Nigerian workers see money for Salah or Is Akintola giving Muslim workers grants to celebrate Salah?
