I am a student major in accounting. This July, I was diagnosed with kidney stone, the doctor suggested I take the surgery and have a rest for 1 year because of my poor health condition. Then I found this would create a big problem for me because I am in the old program of accounting and I have already taken several courses in this program. Accounting 101 will stop being offered after 1 year, which means graduation will be a problem for me.

I am writing this email to ask if there is any chance I can take one of the new program courses of Accounting 101 as a substitute instead. If so, what kind of process will I need to go through? If you can help me on this matter, it would be really appreciated.
