In reality, Wedding party produced by Kemi Adetiba is the highest grossing Nollywood wood film if you consider the exchange rates at the times of production.

Wedding party produced in 2016 made N452million when exchange rate was about N390 per dollar. That gives us about $1.2 m dollars.

On the other hand, Funke Akindele's Children of Judah grossed N1B ( latest figure as at yesterday 5th January 2024) which in dollar terms is about $833k dollars (1 $= N1200)

Wow Mr lagbaja you dey nl

The burden of debt. Future oil has already been used to take loans that are being wasted as we speak.
Even Ghana too used their precious cocoa to take loans.

We have graduated from selling raw material as they are available to selling them in advance and spending wasrefully plus lavishly.

Properties / The Discos by LagosSuperStar: 9:52am On Jan 16
What is the relationship between a Disco abdicating its responsibility by refusing to provide transformers for its customers and payment of cost reflective tariffs? In strict economic terms, the transformer is a fixed asset of the Disco. No serious business concern waits on its customers to provide fixed asset.

If you're blaming the customers for inability of Disco to provide transformers then why blame the customers for also bypassing. It is a simple case of getting back the money they put into the DISCOs in the name of transformer purchase.

However, the fact is that the idea of customers providing transformers and footing the cost of repairs is a relic of the PHCN days when customers took over responsibility of govt since the govt became irresponsible.

The DISCOs simply inherited that mindset and have sustained it ever since. It will interest you to know that even during the days of NITEL, customers hardly foot the bill of repairs but corrupt PHCN which birthed the DISCOs will not lift a finger until money was paid.

So instead of writing an apologia to cover the incompetence and inefficiency of the Discos, you should rather advocate for them to live up to the terms of their contracts which is free prepaid metering. They have even ultimately failed in that as well such that customers now pay for their own meters

Romance / Why Do Notherners Do This? by LagosSuperStar: 10:26am On Jan 15
Why do northerners marry girls under 18?
Is that maybe that's the perfect age to get a girl into the family line.
According to old tradition in Africa, the man marries the before 20 and he is given a farm. The parents are also responsible for the young couples.

But this is a new world, and modernity has proven why religion is weak in most aspects. I wonder why girls below 15 are given out as wives.
