Hi, thank for d write up. My sister is preparing for the test but she is scared and complain dat she hardly hear what thy are saying in d aspect of listening which is really putting fear in her, she wl be writing d test in Ibadan. Hw can she overcome d listening aspect and ace d test?

So guys,we all know how important IELTS is to immigration whether,its for Canada,Australia ,New Zealand etc.And,the benchmark for those who are not aware is, a band 8777 in Listening,Reading,Writing and Speaking respectively.Now,its not enough to say 'oh i have been an English student for the past 12 years",I am a graduate ,I schooled abroad etc and therefore ,IELTS will definitely be a walk over.Wrong! IELTS is a test of the English Language and competency no doubt but,it goes beyond that. You need to understand the nitty gritty of how the exam is set,what the examiners are looking out for,the examiners favourite and of course,the marking scheme for each module.

Sadly,the IELTS RESULT can NOT be combined,i mean the modules.So,it behooves on you,the candidate to get a minimum of the aforementioned scores in one sitting or kiss your hard earned money goodbye!

I have written the exams in Ibadan and,i scored an 8.5,9,8,7.5 across these modules twice.The first time, my listening was a 7.5.In fact,i had a hunch that it was going to turn out that way because i am not a huge fan of maps but,the second time around i was ready for it.

Today, i can confidently tell you that the exam does NOT scare me and i make bold my claim .To anyone who has written the exams but did not get the desired scores,do not relent.Practice with a lot of factors in mind.

For the listening ,always try to block out distractions by staring only at your booklet and keeping your pencil poised and ready.It keeps you in tune with the speaker.For Reading ,time management is key because,we are dealing with lengthy paragraphs that are usually verbose.With writing and speaking,following instructions for each of the tasks will serve you will.I can be reached for more useful,tested tips.
Of course,one can not exhaustively conduct a posthumous on the IELTS Exams but,you can be ready for the next one and aim to ace it!
