EventsTrimming Your Wedding Guest List by LaHeiress(op): 11:26pm On Dec 11, 2014
TRIMMING YOUR WEDDING GUEST LIST

Each time you add a name to your invitation list, you are increasing your budget significantly. It's not just the catering costs, but also the extra centerpieces, souvenirs, rentals etc.

- Don't invite anyone you haven't talked to in five years
- Don't feel obligated to let single people bring a date.
- Avoid feeling pressured to invite all your work colleagues.
- And don't let your friends bring their children.
- You can also decide to eliminate categories like "relatives more distant than first or second cousins".

Like they say, it's easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. After the wedding, you can apologise to the people you "failed" to invite. So control your crowd by limiting the invitations you send out. For example, don't publicise your wedding on social media like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram if you aren't ready for a large crowd. No BBM broadcasts as well. Bulk SMS? Use with discretion; the inexpensive nature of this platform may get you carried away into sending to more people than you intended.

All in all, you simply want to eliminate unnecessary people at your wedding. Your special day should be witnessed by people who know and care about the couple, not people who are there just to fill their hungry stomachs.

EventsThe Wedding Rehearsal by LaHeiress(op): 4:59pm On Dec 11, 2014
THE WEDDING REHEARSAL

Your wedding is a big production - we're not telling you something you don't already know. While there are no trial runs for the marriage, the COUPLE gets at least one trial run for the wedding itself.

Who, what, where and when?

WHO: For the rehearsal itself, only people who have any kind of role need to be invited. That includes the best man, groomsmen, ushers, ring bearers, flower girls, the bridesmaids, anyone reading or singing during the ceremony, the officiant (probably), and of course, the radiant bride and her groom. If key players are missing from the rehearsal, this may increase the likelihood for something to go wrong on the wedding day.I

WHAT: A wedding rehearsal is just like any other rehearsal of an event or performance; it's an opportunity for the wedding party to congregate and walk through the ceremony as it will occur on the day of the wedding. The wedding officiant will act as director, and lead you through. From the procession of the flower girls, the arrival of the bride, the walk down the aisle by the father-of-the-bride, to the vows that you will have to recite.

WHERE: The optimum place to hold your rehearsal would be the actual location of your wedding ceremony, but be sure that whatever location you choose, you have enough space for all the guests to move around comfortably and go through the motions.

WHEN: Some couples choose to have the rehearsals a week before but I will suggest one or two days before the wedding as children as well as adults can be forgetful.

EventsWhat If You Cant Afford A Wedding Planner? by LaHeiress(op): 9:50am On Dec 05, 2014
WHAT IF YOU CANNOT AFFORD A WEDDING PLANNER?

We understand that not everyone may be able to afford or hire a "full-service" wedding consultant to plan the entire wedding. But have you considered hiring a professional "wedding coordinator" for your wedding day management? A coordinator is responsible for ensuring that your big day runs smoothly and timely. You can plan for all the beautiful things in the world for your wedding day, but if it does not run smoothly, it can be a disaster.

However, if you enjoy planning and want to do it yourself, by all means, go for it!  But do yourself a favor on your special day. La' Heiress recommends that you leave the coordinating and details in the hands of  a capable, professional wedding consultant by considering a “Wedding Day Coordinator"

ADVANTAGES
- YOU CAN WORK WITH YOUR OWN VENDORS, WE ONLY BRING THEM TOGETHER AND CONVEY OUR CLIENT'S WANTS TO THEM.
- IT TAKES THE STRESS TOTALLY OFF YOU ON YOUR WEDDING DAY.
- IT IS CHEAPER THAN HIRING AN EVENT PLANNER, (look for one that offers a variety of packages).
- AT LA' HEIRESS OUR PACKAGE COMES WITH 5 FREE USHERS AND FREE FACIALS FOR THE BRIDE "or" A FREE WEBSITE.

" Team work makes the dream work" - La' Heiress.

EventsThe Emergency Bridal Kit by LaHeiress(op): 8:41am On Dec 03, 2014
THE EMERGENCY BRIDAL KIT
This is the secret to why big society weddings never have any PUBLIC mishap. (If you have seen the movied titled, "the wedding planner", then you will understand why I used the word PUBLIC).
It is a bag packed with those useful things everyone seems to want on the day of the big event, but no one remembers to bring. The emergency kit is for everyone at the party but mainly the couple. Apart from a wedding planner having these things, the chief bridesmaid and the bestman should also have some of these things on the event day.

Some of these things includes:
Umbrella
Sewing kit
Makeup kit
Safety pins and office pins
First aid kit (pain relievers, aspirin, etc)
Hair brush
Breath mints
Perfume (travel size)
A portable mirror
A pack of safety razors
Whitw chalk ( used in getting last minute stains on a white dress)
Extra earring hooks
Sanitary pads... Just to name a few.

EventsTips On Throwing A Surprise Party by LaHeiress(op): 8:47am On Nov 29, 2014
TIPS ON THROWING A SURPRISE PARTY.
A few days ago, my fiance (still feels strange saying that) threw an awesome surprise birthday/proposal party. And I had absolutely no clue about it. And that's where the inspiration for this came from.

1. When throwing a Surprise party, it’s always important to appoint a time much earlier, so that even if anyone is late twenty minutes, it won’t ruin the surprise.  Make sure you are very clear about it being a SURPRISE, and tell everyone a few times what time they need to be at the surprise area.

2. Make sure that no clues (obvious and less obvious) are left lying around that the Surprisee may find out about. For example, if you send e-mails to people about the surprise party, and there’s a chance the Surprisee might see them, ERASE them!

3. Sometimes, children don’t know how to hold a secret. It’s best not to tell the little ones weeks before (you might want tell them on the day itself or a few hours beforehand) or not tell them at all.

4. Don’t forget to film and photograph the surprise moments!

5. This may seem obvious, but it’s best to invite people the Surprisee likes. Don’t invite EVERYONE the Surprisee knows just to make it a huge party; it’s best to invite all the people the Surprisee is fond of.

We hope you find this helpful.

EventsRe: Ideas For Moms 60th Birthday by LaHeiress(f): 11:51pm On Nov 25, 2014
So a client of mine consulted me for ideas for her mother's 60th birthday and thought i should share with y'all..

One creative idea is to seek inspiration from the year in which the guest of honor was born! For example, if your mother was born in 1951, give her a 50s-themed party.

1.Set the scene. When you're planning a 60th birthday party based on the year or decade in which the guest of honor was born, it will be important to really set the scene for the event. To do this, incorporate music, clothing, hairstyles, and food from that era. Search online and check out old tv shows and movies set in that decade to get a feel of how to decorate and dress. You can also download music from that era to remind the guest of honor of their childhood. For example, host your party at an old diner.

2.Add personal touches. One of the most thoughtful 60th birthday party ideas you can do is to make a slideshow of family photos, vacations, and other important memories to play during the 60th birthday party. While you dig through the photos, you might even find a baby picture of the guest of honor that you can blow up to put on the 60th birthday cake or even use to create personalized favors!

3. Other ideas for the 60th birthday party can include making everyone at the party (or anyone who feels comfortable) to tell a funny story about the guest of honor

4. If you can and I repeat, only if you can, try to get some old school mates probably from her secondary school or the university. (You can ask her friends or spouse). This will blow her mind. Luckily for me, both parents attended the same secondary school, so I can ask my dad for numbers without my mum knowing  and vice versa *winks*
