I was forced to shake my head while going through the annual salaries for the job offers. The highest paid is 3.5 million. WTF?? That's less than 300k per month. A bus or truck driver can make far more than this in a month. Our professors deserve better salary than this meager pay na.

Where's the salary? Govt needs to ensure these organisations publish the salary for jobs they advertise.

The government needs to pass a law requiring organisations (with over 50 employees) to publicly publish salary range for every job advertised.

When did the UK breakup? Are we reading the same news? The leaders signed an agreement doesn't translate to them being sovereign countries yet. They still have a long way to go. Also it wont be the first time they'll call for a referendum.

That is the truth of europe and UK. As long as you dont live in major cities where the cost of living is insane. Even UK single people can save £500-£700 every month. That is 15m saved yearly.
Although For those with children, it is tougher to save that much.

You have made so many points which are very correct. I have had friends and acquaintances who left because of these issues. And honestly, these are some of the things I had in mind, hence wanting to leave.

I’m unmarried though, and that has been a disadvantage. I could have sent her as student elsewhere while I accompany her as dependent leading to a smooth transition.

Also about UK, from my research, the only viable course I can do there may be nursing so I can meet up with the new salary threshold, it’s on my list but quite expensive and time consuming.

The discrimination in schools and in career is quite obvious here. In one of the Afro groups I belong to, several mothers always complain about how their kids are treated at school and other adults complain bitterly also about workplace subtle harassment etc.

I prefer to be in a place where I can express myself confidently and if possible grow to the acme of my career, and where my kids and family would be welcomed and mostly happy. These are some considerations why I want to leave if possible and it must be to an English speaking country.

Language is the soul and key to any country. It’s usually underrated but I know better now.

My advise is learn french pass the exam and go to canada via french Permanent residency. Do your research on this.

Better workers rights and protection laws need to be made and enforced.

All job advertisements must list the salary range.

Contract staffing should only be used for up to six months and non-renewable. After six months, the said staff must be given a permanent contract with the employer directly.

Minimum wage needs to be replaced with a living wage agreed to by the government and each states' worker/labour union and reviewed yearly.

Most of these salaries, even if you don't touch it for one year, can't even rent you a one bedroom flat in Lagos. That's how inflation has torn through our system.

Yes there is inflation but please don't discourage people. One bedroom flat on parts of Alimosho and Ifako-ijaiye LGA or Ikorodu goes for 600-800k annually. That is around 50-60k monthly. 200k monthly salary is a blessing to some people out there earning far less.
