Designer, Maryam Elisha the CEO of Rikaotobyme designs has described her celebrity client Ibinabo Fiberesima as a very pleasant client with no ‘drama at all’!

This is coming days after Mercy Aigbe called out the designer for embarrassing her by giving out a dress belonging to a bride out of greed.

According to Mercy, the designer failed to inform them that the outfit was a custom made dress ordered by a bride, instead, she had given her the clothe for her shoot, putting her in a very difficult and embarrassing situation.

Maryam Elisha had not responded or reacted to the post until yesterday when she posted some photos of actress Ibinabo Fiberesima wearing her designs.

A fan had reacted to the photos, congratulating Ibinabo on getting her own dress unlike the bride, another follower had complimented Ibinabo’s look and the designs…


Reacting to the comments, Rika had replied that not only is Ibinabo beautiful, she is also very pleasant to work with and has no drama at all.

Could this mean that Mercy on the other hand is a drama queen? Especially after she hinted she would be a long legal actions against the designer and also collect damages!

Nollywood Actor, Femi Adebayo has pulled together a strong cast for a sequel to his Popular comedy movie, Jelili.

The movie is directed by Desmond Elliot, Produced by Femi Adebayo and features a strong cast of Nollywood Veterans and comedians.

Reasons To Expect More Bloodshed – Herdsmen Warn

The MACBAN VP also accused the Benue Governor of refusing to meet their demands for grazing lands which they can rent.
The National Vice President of Miyetti Allah Cattle Herders Association (MACBAN), Husaini Yusuf Bosso has said that there will be more bloodshed in Benue state if the anti-grazing law is not scrapped.

According to Sun News, Bosso said that the Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom flouted international agreement that created a grazing route from Niger to the eastern part of Nigeria.

The MACBAN VP also accused the Benue Governor of refusing to meet their demands for grazing lands which they can rent.

Bosso also said “We, the association wrote a letter to him, even met him. We told him that this law cannot work. We told them that there is an international cattle route from Niger to Eastern Nigeria. He said he will not allow cattle to pass through Benue state even if it is the cattle route.

"We told him that if he wants to implement that law, he must provide a land for us to rent. He did not provide any land for cattle herders. They have been in that state even before colonial days and co-existing peacefully. We advised him and he refused to listen to us. We are not against that law but he has to provide a land for these people before implementing such a law. If there is no land, there is a problem.”

“The land guards that he introduced who we all know as the civilian Joint Task Force, they are inflicting pain on the Fulani herdsmen. They attack and seize their animals. They drag them to the nearest police station where huge amount of money is collected before they are granted bail. This is the cause of this problem. If you attack a cattle herder and collect his cattle, he has no choice but to attack.

“The law is saying that herdsmen should not pass through the state even if it’s a route to another area. In the past , if there was damage by the cattle , we had ways to settle the matter. When you damage a farm, you have to beg the owner , if they refuse, you pay for the damages. This has worked for us for years till Benue State decided to implement the anti-grazing law. We have challenged the law in court and till court decides which way forward, Governor Ortom will be held responsible for any further bloodshed,” he added.

Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom has said that the anti-grazing law will not be scrapped.

The Governor also said that no amount of violence and killings will make him repeal the law.

This is coming as the Secretary-General of MACBAN, Usman Ngelzerma called for the modification of the law, for the sake of peace in the Benue state.

DPR seals 6 filling stations, enforces N145 per litre in Anambra

The affected filling stations were located in Awka, the capital city, Onitsha the commercial town and neighbouring Nkpor and Obosi.
The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) has seal off 6 fuel stations in Anambra for allegedly hoarding and selling petrol above the official pump price of N145 per litre.

NAN reports that Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) sold between N220 to N240 per litre in Awka and most parts of Anambra at outlets owned by major and independent marketers.

The DPR also enforced the government approved pump price of N145 per litre by supervising the dispensing of over 16,000 litres of PMS to customers in the state.

Speaking on their field operation in Anambra, Mr Callistus Obodoechina of the Retail Outlets and marketing Unit, DPR Enugu office said the enforcement would continue until marketers complied.

Obodoechina said the reasons for sealing the filling stations include selling product above the approved pump price, refusal to revert to normal rate. alleged involvement in diversion and hoarding of products.

“In line with the resolve of DPR to ensure that Nigerians especially PMS user buy the product at the government approved pump price, we have intensified monitoring here in Anambra.

“Our aim is to ensure that every marketer who has products sells at the normal price and make that there is no hoarding and diversion.

“In two days we have supervised the sale of over 16, 000 litres of PMS to the public at N145 and the sense of relief clear on the faces of people.

“We also sealed six filling stations that refused to revert immediately on the excuse that the director or technician was not around and those who hoarded or diverted products."

The official said it was unfortunate that marketers in the state had continued to cheat customers in spite of the government pronouncement on the situation.

Also speaking, Mr Uyinme Akpan, an official of DPR deplored a situation where marketers return to the exploitative ways soon after the DPR enforcement team left their filling stations.

Akpan warned that such practice would be met with strict application of the law and advised them to either sell at the approved rate or don’t sell at all.

He assured customers in Anambra of continued protection of the DPR and encouraged them to report defiant marketers for appropriate actions.

Meanwhile customers in Anambra have commended the DPR for its mitigating role and called for a more robust enforcement through deployment of more teams to the state.

Mr Chris Nduka said Anambra was so big that one team of DPR enforcers cannot create the desired effect because of the attitude of marketers who were bent on ripping off their customers.

“The federal government iis doing well through the activities of DPR but it is not enough, the agency should be beefed up with manpower to effectively manage te situation,” he said.

Two kidnappers nabbed in Ajah, Lagos, while escaping with their victim

The Nigeria Police, Lagos State Command, arrested two notorious Kidnappers, yesterday, 10th of January, 2018, at about 9:43pm, at Elemoro, Ajah.

The criminals met their waterloo while escaping with their victim, one Mrs Mildred Mbajiorgu.

The tight security network emplaced in Lagos state by the Command Commissioner of Police, CP. Edgal Imohimi, did the magic as the Divisional Police Officer, Elemoro tapped into it to get the suspects arrested.

According to the DPO, SP Mohammed Shehu Limawa, he received a distress call from a lady who told him that she heard the voice of a woman crying for help in a dark blue Gulf 3 car.

She also gave the registration number of the car as KRD 845 EC. The DPO quickly alerted one of the Anti crime patrol teams along the route taken by the Kidnappers and instructed the policemen to slow down traffic to about 20km per hour.

The hoodlums ran into the gridlock and were arrested by the policemen who were in the waiting for them. The victim was rescued and taken to the hospital to treat the injury inflicted on her forehead by the dare devils using the butt of a locally made pistol.

Meanwhile the suspects by names, Igwe Sunday, age 28years and Chukwuemeka Bright, 21 years together with the locally made pistol recovered from them has been handed over to the operatives of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation.

N5m worth of goods destroyed while manager was watching Chelsea vs Arsenal match

A Cotonou boat carrying goods worth over N5 million, capsized at the Bonny Jetty, today in Rivers State.

According to reports, the boat arrived Bonny Jetty at about 6pm yesterday and it's manager left his duty post to a beer palour to watch football match, leaving the goods inside with no order to unload the boat.

Women Are Their Own Worst Enemies? Case Study Of Toke Makinwa's Experience

Taking a good look at Toke Makinwa’s experience at popular Lagos restaurant, Crossroads.

A brief recount in case you missed it: Toke had gone to the restaurant with her friend for a few drinks. On getting there, they were met by a waiter who proceeded to take them to a table. Now, the table in question had apparently been reserved for guests of a woman (for the purpose of this story, we’ll call her Woman X) who was seated at a nearby table. Woman X made an attempt to stop the waiter from putting them on the supposedly reserved table but he wasn’t having any of it and he had good reasons not to. The table had been on hold for hours and Woman X’s guests didn’t look like they were showing up.

The right thing to do would be to perhaps take up your grouse with the restaurant’s management but no, madam had other plans. Woman X was so intent on embarrassing Toke and her friend that she went over and literally ordered them to get up. She proceeded to call a “super man” on them who then took up the embarrassment from where she stopped.

At the risk of sounding arrogant, I dare say that I’m very sure Woman X would have been more willing to give up the table – which she, by the way, had no real claims to – if Toke and her friend were men.

It’s easier (and even right) to cry fire and brimstone on the establishment and the disgustingly stupid man who made it his duty to ensure that Toke and his friend do not get attended to for over 2 hours, but women like Woman X – and there are plenty of them – who enable the disgustingly stupid man are the reason the line ‘women are their own worst enemies’ exists. The reason it might seem like there is any truth to it.

At work, in our families and our social lives, the first reaction most women have when another woman is introduced into the equation is to see her as competition. It’s almost like there’s an inherent need to prove that we’re better than the next woman.

And competition is not necessarily a bad thing. As long as it’s inspiring you to do better for you and you’re not hurting yourself or anyone in the process, competition is healthy. I’ve seen women improve on their general well being and aim for a better lifestyle because they do not want to be “left behind” by their women peers. So competition, when kept under control, is healthy.

But control, this particular one seems to elude most women. I’d like to think that they do not know how to go about exercising it but the sad truth is they simply do not care to. They perceive every woman as a threat and go the extra mile to put her down, even if it means enabling men like the disgustingly stupid man in Toke’s story, and inadvertently perpetuating sexism which will somehow at some point, also affect them.

So yeah, maybe women are truly their own worst enemies.

Why I was absent at Mercy Aigbe’s 40th birthday – Lanre Gentry
Although star actress, Mercy Aigbe, is going through a rough patch in her marriage, it did not stop her estranged husband, Lanre Gentry, from wishing her a happy birthday via his Instagram handle.

He said in the post, “Today, you are @40. Even though we are fighting I still say happy birthday to you because you are still my wife and my children mother as I use to call you ones again happy birthday to you Mercy Aigbe Gentry. Long life and God bless you (sic).”

“The main reason I was not at her birthday party was that I was not in Nigeria on that day. I traveled to Dubai and I returned on Wednesday. Despite the fact that I was not in the country, I bought her a birthday cake and other gifts I would not want to mention because it is an issue between husband and wife,” he said.

While reacting to the news that his wife has started following him on Instagram again, Gentry, said he did not notice when she ‘unfollowed’ him on the micro-blogging site in the first place on account of his numerous followers. He also insisted that he had no problem with his wife.

He said, “Mercy and I are not fighting. We talk every day. I know that in the birthday wish I sent to her via Instagram, I wrote that we are still fighting but what I actually meant was not a real fight but the normal lovers’ quarrel. I am a very peaceful person and I don’t like fighting, most times, I compare myself to water which has no enemy.

Lady jailed for attempting to sell her set of twins for N350,000

A Katsina State Senior Magistrates’ Court has sentenced to 10 months in jail, Salima Lawal, who was arrested for attempting to sell her 32-day-old twins for N350,000 in December 2017. .

The court, however, gave her an option of N10,000 fine. In his judgment on Wednesday evening, the presiding magistrate, Nuradeen El-Laden, explained that he gave Lawal a light sentence in view of the health of the twins and that of the mother herself.

He noted that a woman attempting to sell her children might have been battling abject poverty. El-Laden noted that the convict and her babies had spent a number of days in the prison custody, adding that Lawal had shown remorse for her action.

Two brothers arrested for serial rape using Uber taxi

Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested two Brothers Paul Jibunor ‘m’ 23 and Nkoenye Jibunor ‘m’ 28, for serial rape and robbery.

The two men were arrested on the 31st of December 2017 following a report from one Ijeoma, who complaint at Ojodu Abiodun Division that she was picked in a taxi by three men on 29/12/17 from Fela shrine Oregun Lagos to Iwo street Ojodu Abiodun on an agreed fees only for the men to forcefully dragged her down and have unlawful carnal knowledge of her after which they dispossessed her of her belongings.

She stated further that she sighted the three men at Adebayo area of Ojodu and was able to recognize them. .

Upon her report, the DPO Ojodu Abiodun Sp Bamidele Job detailed detectives to the area where two of the suspects were arrested while the third one escaped. On interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime.

When a once sweet relationship goes sour; then something is wrong somewhere. In that light, if the information made available to Headofasocials is to go by; then the two power house in Ogun state politics; former Governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba and incumbent Governor Ibikunle Amosun are at loggerheads over who governs the rocky state in 2019.
It would be recalled that Aremo Osoba was instrumental to the emergence of Amosin in 2011, despite kicking against him at first, but adopted him due to the pressure from party chieftains. Amosun scooped the party's ticket and eventually emerged as Governor. From that moment, he kicked against his benefactor, striking out all he promised the former Governor. This led to the bad blood between them.

As we are gearing up for the general elections next year, fresh political banters are beginning to emerge from different quarters over who succeeds Amosun at the Oke-moson Government house. Gov. Amosun is yet unveiled his anointed candidate as many fingers points towards his chief of staff, Chief Tolu Odebiyi.

The only headache Amosun has is the ambition of Senator Olamilekan Adeola known as Yayi an Ogun State born Lagos based politician, who is currently representing Lagos West at the Upper National Assembly. The fear of Yayi is the beginning of wisdom as he has the charisma and financial muscle to contest as Governor of Ogun in 2019. If Amosun had his way, he would never want an active politician like Yayi, who knows politics like the back of his hand succeed him. The reason is because if Senator Yayi emerges as Governor of Ogun, He would automatically take over the Amosun grass-root structure which would render him useless after his tenure as Governor; or leading to him fading off into oblivion politically.

According to a close source who divulged that; ''Governor Amosun and Aremo Osoba have renewed their rivalry politically. Ever since Osoba endorsed Yayi and pledged his support for the senator as the next Governorship flagbearer for APC, Amosun and Osoba don't see eye to eye since then. Things have fallen apart between them as the centre can no longer hold. Only God can intervene in the lingering crisis and if not quickly addressed, it might wreck havoc as the house divided against itself cannot stand''.

Adesua Etomi is the Nigerian female actor that has had the most share of the spotlights in 2017 and the reasons are there for all to see.

Her role in Mo Abudu’s “The Wedding Party” was the springboard of her unprecedented fame, from featuring in blockbusters to Nigeria’s most trending Wedding proposal photo with BankyW then having a high societal wedding in South Africa to cap off a successful year. Undoubtedly, her sensational wedding to BankyW eclipsed that of Stephanie Linus’ bug who got wedded in France.

This piece is not from an authority but just an opinion of one who has seen trends.

NO Baby Bump Photos if Possible: Realistically, it doesn’t seem possible but it’s doable. In as much as her fans love to keep up with her daily life, she needs to understand the thin line for privacy. The goof BankyW made on their honeymoon is pardonable as it can pass for an oversight but such instance are not needed in the future. I’m sure she can see how intolerable Nigerians are just with the case of MTVBase‘ Stephanie Coker.

Internet NEVER forgets: This clause is valid till eternity Adesuwa, pay attention to it. The world only sees what you show them and that’s why you should rather show them more of your works as an artist in 2018. Feed them what you’ll smile at when it makes news on Instablog and not one you’ll have to defend. We don’t need to know anything more about BankyW than we already have, you’ll only give preying eyes on how to snatch him. Taking a cue from Richard Mofe-Damijo will be helpful. WhatsApp will stop working on many smartphones from Jan 1

WhatsApp is about to stop working on a range of old smartphones, meaning owners will have to buy newer gadgets if they want to continue using the chat app to the best of its capabilities.

On New Year’s Day, WhatsApp will ‘remove support’ for a number of devices – which updated versions of the software can no longer be installed on them.

This means owners of these clapped out gizmos won’t be able to enjoy new features or plugs for security holes which are often introduced in updates.

From January 1, 2018, anyone still using phones which run BlackBerry OS, BlackBerry 10 or Windows Phone 8.0 will no longer be able to update their WhatsApp software.

In a blog post, WhatsApp wrote: “While these mobile devices have been an important part of our story, they don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. “This was a tough decision for us to make, but the right one in order to give people better ways to keep in touch with friends, family, and loved ones using WhatsApp. “If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android, iPhone, or Windows Phone.” Last year, WhatsApp dropped its support for Nokia Symbian S60 phones. It will do the same for Nokia S40 handsets on December 31 2018 and then devices running Android 2.3.7 and older after 1 February, 2020.

A lawyer recently wrote to WhatsApp, calling on it to stop people from using the middle finger emoji.

The sensitive solicitor claimed the emoji constitutes an ‘obscene, lewd gesture’ – which is an offence in India.

Actress, Yewande Adekoya alleged with credit card fraud in the US.

Popular Yoruba actress, Yewande Adekoya has reportedly been placed under house arrest in the United States of America for crimes related to credit card scam and bank transfer fraud.

The actress, who became popular with the film, Kudi Klepto was said to have foolishly fallen prey to some Nigerians in Atlanta Georgia who made use of her bank accounts for fraudulent fund transfer.



The award-winning actress, who is married to actor and movie producer, Abiodun Thomas, is ordered to home arrest and instructed to surrender her passport while investigations are still ongoing.

"Her account was used to make some fraudulent transfers in the United States and she was arrested for questioning. This is no new practice among some Nigerian actors and their foreign fraudulent promoters who use them for such crimes and they get huge cuts from such deals,” a source revealed to Kemiashefonlovehaven in Atlanta, US.

The actress, who travelled to the US in October 2017 for the Oodua Image Awards in Houston Texas, hasn’t returned to Nigeria since then. She is said to have stayed back to shoot a film before the criminal act was committed. Married to actor and movie producer, Abiodun Thomas, the “Iyawo Adedigba” actress is still keeping her social media accounts especially Instagram, active.

No regrets being mean to Project Fame’s contestants – Uncle Ben

MTN Project Fame’s coach, Ben Ogbeiwi, popularly known as Uncle Ben, said he has no plans to change his approach in the academy.

Uncle Ben, who is known as the strict and no-nonsense teacher at the reality show, told Sunday Scoop, “Learning about music is serious education. I am sure you once had a teacher who was mean to you; do you still remember him? I am sure you do. I didn’t learn in a mediocre style. A lot of people want to be praised for what they didn’t achieve. I won’t allow that. If dignity is not in the industry, there is no way we will have any form of credibility. If you don’t learn properly, there is no way you can excel. If people think I am mean because I am trying to teach my students, it is okay. But regardless of what people say, I will not change my style. Every time I say I want to leave Project Fame, they beg me to stay.”

According to him also, adults are the most difficult people to train and he prefers working with children.

On why winners of reality shows struggle in the music industry, he stated, “Musicians who didn’t get into the music industry via competitions find it easy to relate to DJs, OAPs, and bloggers. But for those who won competitions, it is a different story. People are always after the money they collected from the reality shows because they want to take their share.”
