Education / Re: What Is The Effect Of Eating Holy Communion Without Being Baptized by LaiveNg: 3:26pm On Jan 07, 2018
There are different doctrines regarding the communion table, but Jesus himself did not specify who should participate in the communion and who should not. For example, in JOHN 6 vs 53, Jesus was like speaking to everyone... ("If you do not eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you..."wink. He didn't make any specification.
.
Paul's letter to the church in Corinth has always been the anchor point of most churches which has consequently brought about the restrictions placed on the communion table. In 1 Corinthians 11 vs 21, Paul's instruction was to avoid eating the communion in an unworthy manner where some get full and drunk without waiting for other brethren. Paul wasn't referring to the baptized or unbaptized, sinners or righteous, but to whoever takes the communion in such manner as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 11 vs .21.
The instruction from Apostle Paul is simple: wait for one another during communion (1 Cor. 11 vs 33 and 34)

Programming / Re: To Create Individual Profile For New Users Or Not by LaiveNg: 8:53pm On Jan 06, 2018
olasesi:

In fact, one can have a general edit page for all users, just as nairaland does. But the profiles are different and individual.
I can't try to implement such a design because I think it won't be efficient and the main purpose of PHP as a language for building dynamic sites will be rendered almost useless.
.
Also, there will definitely be some performance issues when total users hit tens of thousands up to even millions... For example, with this design, NL with over 1.5 million users will potentially have 1.5 million files, each file for a user... Wow! To me it's worthless!
.
However, i think this design pattern will be suitable for strictly non-database-driven applications...

Hahaha... That's far from NL's design... If you wish to have something uniquely beautiful that you'll be proud of, then name the features you need, and leave the rest to me. All it takes is time... 07014509524

An excellently wrong idea! What happens when you want your users to edit their profiles? You create separate edit_profile.php for each of them, right? WRONG!

Programming / What Is Your Favourite PHP Framework And Why? by LaiveNg: 7:33am On Dec 18, 2017
Hello, world! As a web developer, it becomes very necessary to use a good framework in order to meet up with deadlines stipulated by clients. Learning a new framework, however, is not always a piece of cake, but mastering a framework makes building web applications a "sweet" experience!
.
There are lots of PHP frameworks, both popular and the budding ones. Some are:
.
Codeigniter
Laravel
Yii
CakePHP
Symfony
.
Now, out of these listed frameworks, which of them is your favourite and why? Please give convincing reasons!

Education / Re: 2018 UTME THREAD FOR SCIENCE JAMBITES by LaiveNg: 9:49pm On Dec 16, 2017
See, if you truely want to pass your UTME, then you don't need to primarily focus on past questions! Just get the syllabuses. The sylabuses will guide you on where to study and where to skip. With this method, (and of course with GOD), i was able to score 279 during my time, meanwhile my friends who were busy with ast questions never crossed 200. I am not boasting, because I heard someone scored 380!
.
Study your books, that's where you'll get the knowledge to answer past questions in the first place! Stop "referencing" just to answer questions here. Start READING!

Programming / I Need A Job: I'm A PHP/MYSQL Web Developer by LaiveNg: 8:59pm On Nov 19, 2017
Hello, awake human! I am a part-time web developer currently based in Cross River state. I have skills mainly in PHP and MySQL, but dislike the use of frameworks. I write plain OOP code. If you've seen any script somewhere that you'll like to have, kindly contact me through 07014509524 and I'll be glad to render my services to you at an affordable rate.
.
I am still trying to build a portfolio of my projects. Currently, i am working on a classified script which i hope to make open source.
.
P.S. Kindly don't contact me for any script that requires an online payment integration. But for any other script, let me know and we'll talk about it.

Join us on nct.com.ng... You'll learn a lot. And of course you can learn it with your mini laptop.
Education / Re: 8 Skills Every Nigerian Student Needs To Survive In Campus by LaiveNg: 7:44am On Nov 15, 2017
Learn at least one of the following skills, not within campus, but even before your admission. They'll help you:
1. Programming / Web Development: No matter your field of study, learning this skill will go a long way to helping you acquire good problem-solving skills while still making money.
.
2. Blogging: Write engaging blog posts about your field of study and monetize your blog. No matter your department, there will always be something to blog on.
.
3. Graphics Design: When you make yourself recognized as a graphics designer, you'll always get some jobs within campus and hostels. I don't need to tell you how.
.
4. Photography: Students love taking photographs; and whenever there is any departmental events, you'll be among the first persons your colleagues will need.

I know!
But the method that is been introduced is for quick analysis.... the only difference is 1 or 0 point(s).....
I disagree bro... Try 72 degree celcius. Nice tips though.
Education / Re: 27 Coll./uni. Life Hacks You Won't Acquire In A Lecture Hall by LaiveNg: 6:39am On Nov 14, 2017
Pridestorm:
sorry I Made a mistake.... is 32 not 28... you can use it for personal assumption, and
there's always a difference of 1 or 0 points
I think this is wrong... To convert from Celcius to Fahrenheit, just multiply the given value by 180 and divide by 100. Finally add 32 to the answer you get... Easy right? So, converting 5 degree Centigrade to Fahrenheit gives:
.
(5 x 180) / 100 = 9
Now, add 32 to the answer:
9 + 32 = 41 Degree Fahrenheit

Go for MLS (Medical Lab Science). After graduation, you don't need to wait on government. You could set up a mini diagnostics centre for yourself. I believe you'll make some money to help you solve your financial needs.
.
I decided to go for Public Health since I am a type that dislikes looking at dirty human wastes like feaces, sputum, etc. Otherwise I like Medical Lab Science...

Learn PHP bro... Majority of web scripts you see around are built with PHP. For example, the great web software like WORDPRESS, JOOMLA, DRUPAL etc are all built using the power of PHP. It is a powerful and easy to learn scripting language. Trust me, you'll enjoy learning PHP...

Programming / Re: Php Mysql Login Problem Please Help by LaiveNg: 7:59am On Nov 09, 2017
You'll need some database tables bro... One table will store all students along with their serial numbers or whatever means of unique identification.
.
You'll also need a table to store your generated pins, with a field that will be a boolean, say true/false, or 1 / 0. Etc. The field will be set to a default of false, indicating that a particular pin has not been used. If it turns true, it means the pin has been used and can not be re-used.
.
you'll as well need another table that will contain the uploaded results/grades of all your students.
.
Then depending on your competence level, you'll need another table for all your subjects plus the student id that's taking that subject plus the result id for that subject.
.
The SQL query to get results displayed will make use of JOINS and you said you're good at MYSQL.
.
I am a part-time PHP-MySQL developer. You can hire me if you're not confident with all these.

Education / Re: JAMB Delists 72 CBT Centres by LaiveNg: 6:55am On Nov 09, 2017
Sincerely, the level of extortion was way too much. Imagine UNIBRIGHT CBT centre charging candidates N500 separately for taking passports. And the passports were taken with a mobile phone; non-printable. You either pay this additional fee or you leave... This was made known to candidates after they've paid N8,500 for the main purpose of registration, which made the total cost of processing the form about N10,000.
.
The owner of the centre even went as far as telling candidates to pay an optional N10,000 if they would like to take the exam in his centre, claiming that he could decide who is posted where.
.
I just looked at him anticipating that Oloyede would appear and give me the permission to slap the owner of that CBT centre multiple times.
Education / Re: The Difference Between Intelligence And Wisdom by LaiveNg: 2:54pm On Nov 02, 2017
Wisdom is applied knowledge. That's to say applying what you already know. A programmer is said to have wisdom if he is able to apply the programming concepts to build applications.
.
Intelligence is the ability to know! The potential of knowing. The capability of knowing. Again everyone may not understand the concepts of Algebra because they are not intelligent enough. Also someone may not understand the meaning of an Atom because they are not intelligent.
.
In summary, for an intelligent person, I think virtually anything can be understood with less effort, whereas for a wise person, any knowledge can be applied.
.
So someone who is intelligent may not be wise enough. They comprehend but can't apply their knowledge. However, a wise person can be intelligent and as well be able to apply their knowlege.
