FBNH will never do such share reconstruction but I don't trust UBA much because they seems to always give peanuts to shareholders....Dont panic on FBNH but UBA am not sure and as regard UBA you should buy as much as you can if their price eventually reach 2.5naira......I don't have any idea about Skye Bank....Anything Ecobank should be a no no to any investors......Any investment in Ecobank is a useless investment.......
Thanks sir , make my money no go vanish inside this hungry bear again

Oga 9free, I feel you men...me sef had NEM for a while but dumped it a couple of months ago when I started to question the company's corporate governance.

your stock picks are spot on especially in regards to the banks. I think they are the cheapest in the market presently in regards to valuation. Uba's forward PE ratio is getting close to 2.5 times earnings. With this decline, we might see it below 2 soonest.
U re right sir , but someone mentioned shares reconstruction regarding thses banking stocks , the thing dey fear me cos i was a victim of oceanic /Ecobank 750k reduced to 44k ..
I beg anyone can enlightened us about the possiblities ... uba , skye ,fbnh etc
But the risk is worth taking sha
Thanks

If FBNH shld pay #1 as dividend next year, it means it is 12.83 % div yield. The question is, will they b able to pay it.
One nid to invest in div paying stock with @ least 12% div yield, now dat d market is not friendly.
Hmm .. 1 naira ke, they might not be able to ,i rem a year like that i think 2010
First bank declared 10k and bonus 1 for 10

Oga Sir, well as for me, am buying presently but in tranches as usual. When is a question of risk? How is matter of making it happened. So before or after is a matter of self-assessment and judgement that is not backed up by facts (sometimes). My advise is don't play a smart move by timing the market, it will come like a shock and caught so many people unaware!
I know its hard to time the market , at the same time we don't know when the bull will be coming back to town in full force ,cos for me its not easy to see my portfolio showing red anytime i see it
Bought some but its coming down the more , so i ws thinking maybe i should wait till jan or ? so that i can average down

Oil sales at $63 per barrel against it former price of $80 per barrel , and will soon fall to $45 per barrel, with lower demand of purchase from the global community. He that buy dollar at #150 per a dollar and sales at #180 or #200, can little be compare with him that sell his stock now , and buy the bigger amount of unit latter. Remember we are still in the bearish season four, heading to the grand papa of bearish season five. I will be glad to pick enough unit of Nestle, Seplat, 7up, Okomu oil, Oando, FBN, UBA, TRANSCORP, CUTIX, DANGOTE SUGAR and ASHAKA CEMENT, come next year at good junction, that's why if you are interested to join me, keep your money cash, do not leave your huge amount of money in stocks, before the drop in oil price, fear of general election and austerity measure will reduce the money to nothing. Cash is king for those that should wait for the proper time, come next year.
Well u might be correct , bear in mind that no one can time the market as well .. Either brearish season 5 or 10 ,general election , or austerity people will always buy and sell anytime . During june 12 ,Abacha era there was no war, so lets hope for a peaceful election
If you are for long time , i don't think u need to worry cos selling now is going to be a huge loss

@angelo, share buyback is as beneficial to the company itself as it is to the shareholders. Companies may use market downturn as an opportunity to buy back some of thier shares which will create an incentive for investors to have more confidence in them. Whether the buyback is for manipulative reasons or not, at least, making such announcement shows the company believes the stock is cheap. How does buyback affect the principle of FBN shares? Maybe they are waiting for it to get to 50 kobo before they buy as suggested by @carpenter. But I think Nigerian companies are scared of buying back their shares, even if the stocks get to 0.50

@All, those that are moping up banking stocks for long term should consider imminent share reconstruction in this sector. Some share reconstructions can be very beneficial (e.g. Stanbic) while some can be detrimental to investment portfolio (e.g ETI). This is not to scare anyone but to create awareness / reminder.

Note: I will be buying one or more banking stocks.
Sir i rem ETI , that was when they took over oceanic , has uba or fbnh , gtb had any share reconstruction recently?
I will be buying some next month

what of, if you will be the one to testify about what I have said, when that time come. it is only the insiders, those at the helm of their company affairs that knows about their company, most of the stock you think that are fundamental are not, many things we see in this country are only on paper and fake, not the truth fact of the company record. Main while, I still maintains that, the best time to buy is next year february and march.
Sir maybe u re part of the insiders ; grin u re saying it with authourity that feb and march is the best time to buy

Is it possible for anyone to time the market ?

If we're going to think in that line, In 2008, it crashed from 42naira. Between then and the time it slightly stabilized, it had lost some 75% in value.
The 2014 downtrend started at about 15naira, it's has lost about 40% of it's value so far; so technically, we still have about another 35% depreciation to go.

#5Naira in view grin
grin , Well anything is possible on NSE
Then what will be the priceof uba and skye ?
