Yeah ..if u buy a stock very low ,its possible to chop dividend and lil capital appreciation ..u just have to do your home work .But if u buy @moderate/high price you can either go what you want [if u re not on a longterm ]

Some people on long-term believe in re-investing their dividends yr to yr , while some just want to chop divi and cap appre , also some just want cap appre ..u just have to stick to what will work best for u

Imagine what someone who bought Tigerbrands at less N1.2 and sold above N3 made within this short period. Or the attractive dividends beign churned out by the likes of GTB etc. The truth is that the more the prices drop, the bigger the dividend yield. Buy fundamentally strong stocks and don't mind noise makers like Peterichy who is fast becoming PeterPoory!
