There is a new way some people have devised to clean you out of your personal effects in your office.This happened in my office last week.

Modus operandi
An elderly man approaches your Admin Officer in your office,claiming to be a chair repairer who wants to make ends meet.
He tells you he can repair your bad chairs for free in exchange for a recommendation to your General Services Dept at the H/O to be enlisted as one of your vendors.
He starts repairing the chairs with an eye on your personal property i.e. ipad,tablet,phones,wristwatches,wallet etc.
When you relax your guard,he picks your stuff and quickly goes to the next table,knowing that you are too busy to immediately notice that your stuff is missing.
He cleans the other table and approaches the Admin Officer that he would be back the next day to 'finish' the work and leaves a fake phone number to reach him on should his request of being enlisted as a vendor is approved
He disappears into thin air and cannot be traced
You are happy your 'dead' chairs have been re-shaped
No need to buy new ones cos you have saved cost.
He is happy he has cleaned you out while you bear the brunt.
By the time you notice,he is long gone.
An Ipad and a wristwatch of my colleagues(he can't explain to his wife how the wristwatch,a 7-yr anniversary gift is nowhere to be found) go missing
You call the number,but of course it doesn't exist.
