Now consider this scenario, am Aliko Dangote, a Nigerian Company and I would like to interact with my Nigerian users or consumers. So I decide to place targeted ads around the web. http://innovativecritic..com.ng/2016/02/nigerians-are-lossing-billions-in.html So I take $1 billion and give it too American companies Google or Facebook because most Nigerians are using foreign based internet services and platforms with a few exceptions like nairaland, lindaikeji and i.aweola.org. Now these services like Google take 50% of this cash as theirs and give the remaining 50% to the Nigerian publishers i.e the owners of blogs and YouTube creators. While services like Facebook take the whole $1 billion provide the ads to Nigerian users on Instagram and Facebook. Amazing right, well not yet. Think about how many Nigerian companies from Telecommunications to daily consumable goods like close-up have paid these American companies for the attention of the Nigerian audience. |

As stated in an article here http://innovativecritic..com.ng/2016/02/nigerian-commonadsense.html Heres the scenario; with the dollar getting stronger due to the decline in oil prices, its becoming more expensive for the companies that are interested in the Nigerian market to place ads. E.g If it cost you $25=N5000 (at $1 to N200) for 1000 Facebook likes, it will now cost you the equivalent of N7,500(at $1 to N300) for the same 1000 Facebook likes at $25. So you see, if Online Ads were traded in Naira, it will be better for the advertiser but there not they are traded in dollars. Read here for the solution: http://innovativecritic..com.ng |
Read More & Comment Here: http://innovativecritic..com.ng Today evryone or someone you know is aspiring to be a professional musician. It hass become the order of the day for almost every nigerian youth. But hiw significant is this industry, can we sell our music products i.e tracks and albums to the chinese or the american or even the europeans. The answer to that question is generally yes and no. Lets consider a case study of D'banj a legendary musician, he took the industry to where it is today alongside other well known artist but he also foresaw the future, that we have reached a domestic saturation level; an oversupply of music tracks to the market. Thus the only growth aviable will be if we take our tracks outside. That's the future every aspiring musician most face. There is only so far a commercial hit can take you as an artist. In the long run if we are able to collaborate with more foreign acts, then i think the industry can artist our economy grow. |
Read More Here: http://innovativecritic..com.ng With all the talk going on about common sense, i think its fair to bring to light how important it is for Nigerians to have our own independent Advertisement company. Like a previous article written in the post (http://innovativecritic..com.ng/2016/02/nigerians-are-lossing-billions-in.html) which highlighted how much we may be losing to foreign companies. Think about it for a second. You own a Nigerian company and you want to advertise to Nigerians why then should you have to contact foreign or Americans to assist you. The answer is simple we are yet to establish our own Legit Advertisement company for online platforms just like Google Adsword and Adsense. Wouldn't it be nice if I created a blog and applied for ''Nigerian Adsense''. Such that Nigerian Adsense is an online advertising company offering Advertisement Services to companies like MTN Nigeria and Other Nigerian and foreign companies interested in the Nigerian audience. Thus when a Nigerian or Foreign company provides $1 million for ads targeting the Nigerian audience such funds will be in circulation in the Nigerian economy. With more than 10,000 active Nigerian Publishers and a population that will over take America's population in the year 2050; I think this is something we should take seriously So who is ready to take up this opportunity. |

Fellow writers on Nairaland and beyond, Please how can we make money via amazon or even on nairaland for our work. We write wonderful tales, stories or novels and yet we have bills to pay. How do we make money from writing, please if you have kindly tell us here. For I seriously believe we have wonderful writers that are far better than Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, but due to the inability to market or promote our work, they are seemly still in the Dark. God Help us Great African Writer |
Sometimes all what SME's need is free Marketing and Advertisements not always finance in cash form. If more banks and institutions can assist SME broadcast their services it would make the SMEs live longer. People just queue in banks for ever, what if there was a small screen in the banking hall to advertise the services an SME has to offer Or their was a small screen in all the public transports so as you sit in it you are enlighten about a new indegenous product or service. It will go far if marketing is free and easy to access for all SME's in the country AWESOMEOLANREWAJU Web and Motion graphics Designer www.aweola.com |

this issue is getting to much media. I think them eastern people should site Delta state as an example. How united are the inhabitants if Delta state, hence how united will them people of Biafra be? Follow the data, dont just take actions. |
So the meaning of Nigeria has been on debate over the past week as various articles emerged pertaining to the origin and meaning of the noun Nigeria. We were named by Lord Lugards wife. Some say the meaning of this Nigeria is Land of darkness others say its a shorten form of Nigger Area. So the question is if we ever decided in this generation to change this multi ethnic country's name, what will we call ourselves? I think WAZOBIA is a good start . My fellow WAZOBIANS!!! ![]() With modern technology we can actually cast survey's to find out with name the populace finds the most befitting. |
