I hope u guys remember that some of us can't update our infinix hot note. If u have been able to successfully do this kindly upload the cwm backup of your fone so that we can flash. Atleast if only for us to be able to use the OTG feature. Thank you.

Thanks for the great job u r doing on AndroidVillaz, however as we await a custom rom from you for the ihotnote, kindly let the cusrom UI be dark in color unlike the common whitish color of most lollipop roms.
It's not a demand though but a plea. Thanks bro.

Solution is to unroot your phone if you're rooted, Revert back to stock recovery if you have Cwm recovery installed and/or reinstall any system app(s) you might have uninstalled.

So best thing is to update as soon as you get your device before starting your root and custom ROM adventure.

It might be the stock recovery vs cwm. Thanks for the reply... How do I revert to stock recovery? Or I can just chill till custom roms start showing up for this fone.

Since the update is failing on some of these devices, can anyone with a successful update upload and post a link to download the cwm backup? Please?

I downloaded the update, but when trying to upgrade, after it goes off,it writes error.
Did u pass thru that?

This same thing happened to me... Have u gotten a fix? Did u change your launcher? Cos that's maybe what I'm thinking caused it.

Hello people, I tried installing the OTA update on ihotnote but every time it failed. It will download but whenever it boot to recovery to update, it will fail. Anybody faced this issue? Pls what is the solution?

Pls who has done the 13 mb system update that's being rolled out? I saw it this morning but the version's name has tecno A1 in it.
Also I've heard some people's phone were bricked after installing the update. Pls anybody will real info on this? Infinix Hot

@Lanreallenjay: I'm almost through with the downloads of the recover.img and s5 minimalist ics files, but I have some questions.
Will I copy all the files contained in the s5 minimalist ics files into the scatter file folder before I Flash (that is after replacing the boot image with the one downloaded @ dropbox.com)?
If yes is the answer, will I select all the files contained in the SP Flash tool when I load the Scatter file?

you are not using Sp flash tool for it o... you flash it through CWM recovery... just replace the boot image inside the minimalist zip with the one I sent you and put the zip in the root folder of your sd card... boot to recovery,select flash zip from SD card... flash zip.

i let my p9 battery drained to 1%, when i got home i connected it straight to my laptop, then i noticed it wasnt coming on or showing any sign of charging. i have charged the phone for over 3hrs now with direct socket. i have tried all the suggestions above related to this problem like the screen of death problems.but bot still powering on. please help

I am 90% sure the solution to that issue is for you to change the rom of your phone... something is wrong with it... you either get another working n7 rom or get a custom rom.

Okay, try reseting your network settings... You'll do that in settings-networksettings - more - mobilenetworks- access point names- press options and click on reset to default. If it doesn't work, do a factory reset to your phone.

davodyguy: someone should pls help. My N7 Seems not to work on 3g. Anytime the H sign appears, it will not connect unless the E sign appears. I changed location yet to no avail. on other phone, the 3g works well with same etisalat Sim. what can I do? 2g is slower.

Have u tried using another network 3G on it? If not try that n let's know wa'sup

battouh: My niece’s Tecno N7 falls in the category of the variant with factory defects. I know this since after rooting and installing a Custom ROM the screen is unresponsive rendering the phone unusable. Unfortunately I didn’t do any nandroid backups…How do I rectify this problem to make it work well again please? The instructions by xquigee above don't seem to work for me guyzzz...My niece's so sweet yet so desperate? Which custom rom did you install?

Under 4.0.4 firmware download s5 minimalist ics(its the first on it list)
Go here, https://www.dropbox.com/s/wtkmw7kq1bafmyg/boot.img
Download the boot image and replace the one in the s5 minimalist ics with it.
Flash the rom.
You can use any rom under the 4.0.4 firmware but you have to change the boot.img with the one I'm sending to you. I've tested the s5 minimalist and its stable...

I'll very much want to appreciate rekeson for his attentive support to me while trying to get microfire 3.2 to work, unfortunately it's still not working for me and I'm still trying it though (maybe I'm still doing something wrong), but I've tried all options as rekeson himself can assert to.
Maybe paulabdeel can give us the link to the jellybean 4.2.2 he is using and then we'll give that also a try. Thanks so much for your efforts @paulabdeel and @rekeson. You guys are awesome.

paulabdeel: My friend, I am not a signpost. I bricked my phone over 30 times trying this out. I dont want anyone to go through that. I will waste my bandwidth unless people are interested. Google is your friend, do the search yourself if you feel I am too slow. I posted about the already well tested 4.1 several days back and nobody has shown interest. I am not a guru. I just want to share at my own pace. It is not the link that is important but the work around.

paulabdeel: At last Jelly Bean for Tecno N7. I successfully ported JB 4.1 on N7 yesterday. I have been using it since then, stable and good for every day use so far. rekeson will give further information on this. By His grace, 4.2 will be here in a couple of weeks.
