EducationAltruistic Behavior In An Examination Hall---a Sin? by lanxlot(op): 6:29am On Nov 06, 2014
people's behavior defer, it manifest also in examination setting. while a person sitting close to you may want to offer an assistance, ask some other a question and this is what will greet ur eardrum "I don't talk in an examination hall". these set of people see talking and helping a person answer some questions in an exam condition as an aberration, a deviation from what is right and a sin. but some other persons On d other end of d spectrum will gladly help.undermining the risk. yes they will help even without extracting money Or some other benefit from d person helped. is it that bad? a friend of mine said yes. afterall it goes against the ethics governing behavior in an examination hall. but consider this situation. you are about to write an exam, a core course actually and by random luck you discover that the person sitting next to you is in her finals. she carried over the course. ofcourse you are Well prepared for the exam, you read your materials and notes. but not so with her, she like some students Went through past questions. Its explicit from her facial appearance when she saw the questions. Its objective, you Went through your work, in no time you are done. looking at her working, you discover she hasn't done a thing. Its a core course fore heavens sake you mutter. but here is someone beside you apparently stranded. you know the implications, if she fails the course(an extention), a year extra, plus payment of school-fees and borrowing of courses aside the stress. some persons may consider it a greater sin not to offer an assistance. is it a sin to help her out, what would you have done if u were in this situation, is it morally wrong, is it against conscience? what's your take in this issue?

SportsRe: Fifa’s Releases 23-man List For Ballon D’or 2014 by lanxlot(m): 1:18am On Nov 06, 2014
oluwaveeboy:
Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo , the current
holder of the Ballon d'Or award, and four-time
winner and Barcelona playmaker Lionel Messi are
among Fifa's 23-man shortlist for this year's
honour.
There was, however, no place among the
nominees for Luis Suarez, Europe's joint top
goalscorer last season.
The list, which was compiled by Fifa's Football
Committee and France Football, will be cut down
to three finalists in January.
Ronaldo is hot favourite to complete a hat-trick,
having clinched the award last year and back in
2008.
All of the 23 players named, however, ply their
trade in Europe, for eight different clubs. Real
Madrid and Bayern Munich both have six players,
while Barca have four.
There are five representatives from the Premier
League, with Chelsea boasting three: Diego
Costa, Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard, who
has been included for the third straight year.
Suarez, despite scoring 31 Premier League goals
last season for Liverpool before making a big
summer move to Barcelona, has been overlooked
completely.
The Uruguayan made his return from a four-
month ban for biting an opponent at the World
Cup in the weekend's El Clasico.
And there is a clause in the voting regulations for
the Ballon d'or which references "overall
behaviour", with Suarez's deemed to warrant his
absence.
See the full list:
Ballon d'Or shortlist: Gareth Bale (Wales), Karim
Benzema (France), Diego Costa (Spain), Thibaut
Courtois (Belgium), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal),
Angel Di Maria (Argentina), Mario Goetze
(Germany), Eden Hazard (Belgium), Zlatan
Ibrahimovic (Sweden), Andres Iniesta (Spain),
Toni Kroos (Germany), Philipp Lahm (Germany),
Javier Mascherano (Argentina), Lionel Messi
(Argentina), Thomas Mueller (Germany), Manuel
Neuer (Germany), Neymar (Brazil), Paul Pogba
(France), Sergio Ramos (Spain), Arjen Robben
(Netherlands), James Rodriguez (Colombia),
Bastian Schweinsteiger (Germany), Yaya Toure
(Cote d'Ivoire).
Coach of the year shortlist: Carlo Ancelotti
(Italy/Real Madrid CF), Antonio Conte (Italy/
Juventus FC/Italy national team), Pep Guardiola
(Spain/FC Bayern Munich), Juergen Klinsmann
(Germany/ USA national team), Joachim Loew
(Germany/Germany national team), Jose
Mourinho (Portugal/Chelsea FC), Manuel
Pellegrini (Chile/Manchester City FC), Alejandro
Sabella (Argentina/Argentina national team),
Diego Simeone (Argentina/Atletico Madrid), Louis
van Gaal (Netherlands/Netherlands national
team/Manchester United FC).

I hereby include ahmed musa as the 24th member in the list, I may consider including mikel obi come january in other that the finalist becomes 4

Everyday, musicians are made. Many come but
more go quicker than the lot that came. For a lucky
few, their star shines so bright you think it will
outlive a single night. Sadly, that’s never the case
with these ones. You wait and wait and wait sitting
out all night wishing on the star that might never
come. Suffice to say their purpose has been
achieved because you never forget that there was a
star that once shone.
By label, they can be termed one-hit wonders but
here at TX, we’re simply wondering what’s
happened with these industry acts.

1. AY.COM
Born on November 25, 1985 in Lagos, Nigeria,
Ayoola Johnson a.k.a AY.Com established himself
as a hip-hop star. He successfully amassed an
impressive fan base with the release of Pass Me
Your Love reaching as high as number one on the
Nigerian Music Charts and later going platinum
with millions of downloads online. Many critics
praised the work, noting that such tracks showed a
more genuine, reflective side to the singer.

PoliticsRe: 5 Strongest Armies In Africa by lanxlot(m): 11:18pm On Nov 04, 2014
[quote author=mikron post=27734101]2. Algeria
Algerian military is made up of modern army, navy and air force. Frontline personnel number more 120,000 active personnel, which is well-equipped and it has nearly 2,000 armored fighting vehicles at its disposal. Algeria also has the added benefit of its own oil reserves, allowing it to use its own fuel to power tanks, aircraft carriers, naval vessels, and more. Algeria continues to be among the African countries with the best military power.

3. Ethiopia
Ethiopia has the third strongest military on the African continent as a result of both their large population and their long independence from colonization. As a landlocked country, it has focused its resources on building its army and air force to an impressive degree. With a population of 38 million people, 24 million of the citizens are considered to be fit for active service. Ethiopia reportedly had around 182,500 personnel in their ground forces and a further 3,000 air force personnel.

4. South Africa
The country has got what it takes to be among the top countries in Africa strong enough to be recognized. South Africa uses its very advanced army for pacification and international cooperation. Its aircraft and naval vessels are especially well-equipped with the latest technology, and though the country has less than 88,000 active front-line personnel and 17,000 active reserve personnel, it has the capabilities and manpower for much more.

5. Nigeria
Nigeria has the second largest army by number of troops on the continent, but due to political instability and lack of equipment it has been ranked just the 5th strongest country in Africa. The country has more than 1,400 armoured vehicles, 360 tanks, and 6,000 logistical vehicles at its disposal, as well as nearly 300 aircraft and 25 high-powered naval vessels. The army has been criticised for their heavy-handed manner in dealing with civilians during anti- Boko Haram operation in the North East. The previous year Nigeria occupied the 4th place.

PoliticsRe: I’m The Only One Who Can Defeat Jonathan, Says Okorocha by lanxlot(m): 10:52pm On Nov 04, 2014
chibecanglobal:
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo
State has said if the All Progressives
Congress (APC) is serious about
wresting power from the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP), it should
field him as its presidential
standard-bearer.
He said he could dislodge the
President Goodluck Jonathan-led
Federal Government.
Speaking yesterday at a rally
organised by a northern group, the
Arewa Peoples Grand Coalition, to
urge him to pick the nomination and
expression of interest forms,
Okorocha said of all the APC
presidential aspirants, he had a
better chance to defeat the PDP
candidate.
He said this was because none of
the aspirants had ever provided free
education, stressing that he had,
over the years, provided free
education in parts of the country,
“and I will provide it all over the
nation if I become the President.”
Okorocha visited the Emir of Zazzau,
Alhaji Shehu Idris and inaugurated
the Rochas free secondary school
education in Zaria.
The governor, who spoke in Hausa
and English languages, asked the
crowd whom they would vote for if
he was fielded against a PDP
candidate, and they shouted:
“Okorocha! Okorocha! Okorocha!
He said: “There is need for a change
in Nigeria. It is a must and it must
happen. The change has become
necessary.
”I believe that if I fly the flag of APC,
I will bring victory to the party. I am
the only one who can defeat PDP
without struggle. No PDP candidate
can face me in other parts of the
country. We don’t have problem with
PDP, our problem is how to choose
the candidate who can defeat it.
”I am a leader. Leaders are never
satisfied until things get better. The
country is not doing well. Our
problem in this country is hunger.
My first four years, if elected as the
President, will be years of radical
transformation.
“On the day of my swearing-in as
the President, we shall sing the old
national anthem, which says “though
tribe and tongue may differ, in
brotherhood we stand”.
