EducationJAMB 2020: JAMB SUSPENDS USE OF NATIONAL IDENTITY NUMBER by lapo(op): 11:43am On Jan 11, 2020
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the use of the National Identification Number for registration for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME.

The registrar of JAMB, Ishaq Oloyede, who stated this while briefing journalists in Abuja on Saturday, said the move was to provide more time for candidates to get their national identification numbers.

He said the suspension was also to address the technical challenges experienced at some centres.

He asked candidates to disregard the use of NIN for the 2020 registration and strictly comply with other procedures for the registration. He however said that JAMB will consider the use of NIMC for 2021 exams.

The board last year said from 2020, candidates will register for its examinations with their national ID numbera to solve the challenges of multiple registration.

Train yourself to keep mind off food until you become used to not craving for food. I think it's largely psychological. And watch your diets too. Some foods digest quite easily.

Obviously, the poor woman is deeply frustrated. The husband can help stop her suffering by simply mending his ways. No good husband will be delighted seeing her wife going through this. However, the wife shouldn't have accosted the lady in the public or anywhere at all. It's a wrong approach.

PoliticsSeyi Makinde Remains The Oyo State Governor by lapo(op): 9:15pm On Nov 11, 2019
The judgement is unambiguous. The Appeal Court may have faulted the procedure adopted by the lower court (the Tribunal) in awarding victory to Governor Seyi MAKINDE, however, it gave a nod to the Tribunal judgement that Governor MAKINDE won the 9th March, 2019 gubernatorial election.
As it stands now, neither party needs approach the Supreme Court as there is no reason for doing so. Since the Appeal Court did not invalidate the lower court's judgement, the status quo remains and this serves the PDP well and makes going to the Supreme Court absolutely unnecessary.
And for the APC candidate, approaching the Supreme Court will amount to nothing since he has no judgement from the Appeal Court to take with him. As a matter of fact, as stated in judgement, the effluxion of time will not allow any court revisit the judgement at the Tribunal.
So, in effect, Governor Seyi Makinde remains the duly elected Executive Governor of Oyo State.

BusinessRe: This Is Why You Are Not Making Sales On Social Media by lapo(m): 10:33pm On Jul 14, 2019
Brooke60:
Many people come to me and complain about not making sales on Social Media despite the fact that they post almost every day. Even when you've found the perfect social media platform to engage your target audience, your marketing efforts may not be effective if none of them has heard of you before.

Below are some of the reasons you are not making sales:

1. Your Business is too *Salesy*: Visiting your page, what will I Find? Only your Products? Every time, come and buy. Did you put money in my account? Why can't I come to your page and be entertained, educated and informed while you are still selling your products? In short, your page must not be about your business alone.

2. No hashtag: Some online sellers don't make use of a hashtag, especially on Instagram. Using relevant, targeted hashtags on your posts and stories is still one of the best ways to get discovered by new audiences on Instagram. And this can translate into more engagement, more followers, and more customers for your business.

3. No Reviews: You need to post what people are saying about your business. It might be about fast delivery, about your customer service and even about the effectiveness of your products. Are you into fashion? Let people snap and send to you. Sometimes, you may have to tell your customer to say one or two things. Posting Reviews eliminates Scam from the mind of prospecting customers. They tend to trust you more and want to buy from you.

4. No Humanization: You need to humanize your business. Your business needs to feel what people are feeling. Is the Country sad about any event? Your business should also be sad (Post about it), is the country Happy? Your business must be happy. Did the country lose a match? Post about this. Is there an election? Pray for a successful one. Muslim Celebration? Celebrate your Muslim Customers. This should also be the same with all the public holidays in the calendar.

5. No Advert: This is so funny. Why won't you run sponsored ads? MTN, GLO, AIRTEL and even Banks are always running ads to stay in the face of their customers but you don't run ads for yours? How does it work? You should always have a monthly budget to run ads for your business. There are many competitors and you should always be ahead of them.
You did well. Kudos.

CelebritiesCOZA PASTOR: Simi, Adesua, Banky W And Their Sorry Messages To Busola Dakolo by lapo(op): 6:28am On Jun 30, 2019
Amidst the alleged rape controversy, I think it's proper to draw our attention to the way we commonly use the word 'sorry' which is supposed to be a very weighty word. The word sorry comes with a legal weight and whoever is using it must do so advisedly. In this country when someone coughs in front of you or hit their heads against the wall in your presence, you say sorry to them as if you caused their misfortune. Saying sorry means admission of guilt.
This is why it's necessary to point it out to Simi, Adesua and Banky W that they all goofed for saying sorry to Mrs. Busola Dakolo when they didn't have a hand in the alleged crime the COZA pastor is accused of.
Hear them:

Simi said, “I’m sorry this is even your truth at all. God bless you. You’re strong.”

Adesua Etomi said, “Busola, I am so sorry. My heart is with you. May healing from speaking the truth come and may it calm the storm within. You are so brave. I love you.”

“We are all here for you,” Davido said.

Banky W said, “This was so hard to watch. I am so sorry you went through this nightmare. But I am so proud of you for sharing your truth. You didn’t speak up for yourself alone, but for all the voiceless victims who have suffered similar horrors at the hands of predators like him. Sending love, light and support your way. We are standing by you and Timi Dakolo. God bless, protect and strengthen you. Stay strong. You are incredible.”

PoliticsNew Dawn In Oyo State: Governor Seyi Makinde Speaks On Immunity by lapo(op): 8:43pm On Jun 10, 2019
Corruption: I’ll Surrender My Immunity If Found Guilty, Says New Oyo state Governor.

BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORKJUN 10, 2019

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State says his administration will soon establish an anti-corruption agency in the state and that he is ready to give up his immunity if found guilty of any corrupt practices.

A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Taiwo Adisa, quoted the governor as saying this on Sunday during a two-day induction programme organised for members-elect of the 9th Oyo State House of Assembly.

He said the plan for the establishment of the agency was part of his administration’s readiness to fight graft.

He disclosed that the lawmakers would get a bill seeking to establish the Oyo State Anti-Corruption Agency immediately after the inauguration.

According to the statement, when the agency is established, it will be empowered to beam its searchlight on individuals and government institutions in the state.

Makinde expressed readiness to waive his immunity and appear before the agency if found wanting.

“The first Executive Bill we are bringing to you is for us to set up an Anti-Corruption Agency for Oyo State. And I will waive my immunity, if I am found not to be above board, to face that agency,” he stated.

The governor also promised to work with the state assembly to guarantee financial autonomy to local government administration.

On security, Makinde said his government was determined to make the state one of the safest in the country by coming up with measures to tame insecurity.

He disclosed that his government already had a blueprint on the security sector, adding that his colleagues in the South/West were also working in the same direction.

According to him, the decision to proscribe the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) a few days after taking office was borne out of the resolve to ensure that the state was not held to ransom by a few individuals.

He implored the members-elect to work towards a cordial relationship with the executive.

Makinde disclosed that his administration had four major areas to focus on, which included economy, agriculture, poverty alleviation and infrastructure development.

“We want to expand our economy and lift as many of our people as possible out of poverty.

“We want to use agriculture to expand the economy. It is not by just saying it; we have to see real action and most of our infrastructure will be made to target our economy and we need to work together on this,” the governor stated.
