‘We’re ready for Court action’ – Oyo govt defends sack of 33 Council bosses

Oyo State Government has said that the chairmen of the 33 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 35 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) were sacked because the election that led to their emergence was illegal.
Speaking with journalists in Ibadan on Friday, Chief Bisi Ilaka, the Chief of Staff to Gov. Seyi Makinde, justified the action of the state government.
Ilaka said that the local government election that was conducted by the last dispensation was illegal as it contravened court order.
He said, “The new administration in the state is committed to rewrite all the wrongs of the last administration.
”We have nothing to hide and this government is waiting for them to challenge the decision of this administration.”
He said the Seyi Makinde led government was ready to obey court orders that were valid.
”All security agencies have been informed about the development,” Ilaka added.

The PDP gubernatorial candidate Engr Seyi Makinde has said that the Ajimobi administration has no intention and will not pay the promised part payment of the outstanding gratuity and pension arrears to retired primary school teachers and local government Workers.

In a statement signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade on his behalf, a government that could deceive workers with uncompensated promotion for so long, a governor that could ask dying pensioners if they do not have successful children to take care of them, cannot keep a promise three days before an election.

Makinde was quoted as saying, ‘ No! Ajimobi has not done anything to secure the confidence of workers. He will not pay and Bayo Adelabu knows it. He wants to get your votes on saturday and design his own set of lies and excuses as to why they cannot pay’

They both have the Machiavellian mindset and enjoy working together in dubious enterprise as long as it works for their ambition

OYO 2019: WHY I SUPPORT MAKINDE - LANLEHIN

In the last few days, the idea of coalition was midwifed by some opposition parties to rescue Oyo State, and its people, from the claws of oppression and injustice, and to restore their pride, progress and prosperity;

It is a statement of facts that Oyo state citizens in the past eight years have been subjected to untold hardship through the maladministration of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC); whose actions and inactions, has ensured dividends of democracy is alien to our people;

Having then submitted to that coalition arrangement, and agreed to decisions reached thereto, after series of meetings and consultations, I, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (SOLAN), Oyo State ADC governorship candidate, do hereby officially decline from contesting Saturday's governorship poll, and in equal measure, endorse Engr Seyi Makinde, governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP);

Though a tough decision, considering the human and material resources, as well as time, already expended in pursuance of my governorship bid, not minding the contacts and tours already made to the 33 local governments of the state, it is my firm belief, that no sacrifice is too much, in the total liberation of our state from the clutches of godfathers and capitalists headquartered outside Oyo State, and its subsequent return to the masses of our people;

This decision, without doubt, is in the interest of our state, our people, and the continued progress of our land;

It is to be noted however, that though I have willingly decided to forgo my governorship ambition in the interest of posterity and service, let me add, that all House of Assembly candidates on the platform of our party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), retain my total support, and are still contesting to win their various constituencies, as this alliance is totally for the purposes of securing the governorship;

Finally, therefore, I implore all my loyalists, supporters, friends, and well wishers, as well as members of the Oyo ADC to vote Engr Seyi Makinde of the PDP as Oyo State governor on Saturday, 9 March, 2019, and House of Assembly candidates for ADC in the 32 constituencies of Oyo State.

The gubernatorial candidate of the PDP in Oyo state, Engr Seyi Makinde has challenged his APC counterpart to name one thing he has done for the muslim community before he showed interest in the governorship race.

In a statement from his campaign organisation and signed by his spokesman, Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said that if Adelabu names one, he will name a dozen.

He regretted the unfounded and despicable lies being spread that he hates muslims and will stop the use of Hijab or return schools to Missionary when the reverse is the case.

He asked, "Where was Adelabu when I started organizing my popular Omituntun annual Ramadan Lecture six years ago to promote Islam and peaceful co-existence . Where was he when, for several years now, I have been sponsoring Muslim to Mecca.'?
Makinde said that while Adelabu did not make up his mind which religion he actually wanted to be identified with, " I have been adding value to the propagation of both religion without any fuss yet I am a christian with a devoted and renowned Muslim deputy, Alhaji Abdul Rauf Aderemi Olaniyan who has contributed to the growth of Muslims and Islam more than Adelabu has ever done.
Makinde asked rhetorically, " Bayo, we know ourselves, how many months ago did you actually decide to identify with Islam?"
While he admitted that the APC candidate reserves the rights to chose his path in life, corporate lies and mudslinging is a sin before God.

I have also attended several Islamic oriented meetings at instances of Aare Musulumi of Yoruba Land, Alhaji Daud Akinola, League of Imams and Alfa, Muslim Association of Nigeria, Nasfat to mention a few where i tabled before them my Blueprint and it received applause.

He reiterated that people should stop mixing religion with politics and look for merit on how to overcome grinding poverty which doesn't recognize religious divides" I believe I have the capacity to rescue the state from brink of collapse.

I have to be back here to say thank you to initiator of this thread. My 35gx infiniti car is now back on the road after the gear box was fixed and NOT replaced. Instead of the recommended maticj which is a dextron 3 atf, I opted for equivalent Oando dextron 3. Everything seems fine so far after one week.

Most likely it will be the valve body of the gear. Some good guys can service it well. You must have probably used the wrong oil hence it has destroyed the drive fibers. So two scenarios but repair is better than replacing. I once made the mistake of changing the gearbox on a G35 instead of fixing it. Till date, I have not been refunded my money and 3 years down the road. Let them check it out before you conclude.
