hahn:Another brilliant mind. But I was not positing the conventional definition of atheism. I was showing the thought process that leads me to the conclusion that one cannot be free-in-thought, and at the same time, hinged on a conclusion for which the only evidence, is poverty of evidence. By the by, am glad to see so many bright minds, spitting logic like it should be spat in response to the fluctuations of my own mind. |
DeSepiero:Indeed your mind is very logical. I (in my characteristic open-mindedness) chewed on every point, and am convinced that here 'Here is a thorough mind'. However, while I didnt find a section of your response that addresses this point squarely, I hope we can both agree that in the absence of evidence, research is just inconclusive. Anything other than that, is deviating from free thought, to cling to an idealogy. |
onetrack:Does it then mean that because you have not discovered a way to verify a thing, that thing does not exist? I am an agnostic. I am not convinced of the existence of these Gods either... But I realize that the situation is that I am not convinced... Not that they don't exist. Several phenomenon exist which even though will eventually get discovered, cannot be discovered now due to our limited observatory capacity. I think sincere atheists should shift from negative faith, to keeping an open mind to receive and ruminate on facts. There's a whole lot out there to learn! That's the beauty of fee thinking! |
Atheism, as I perceive it, is the first bustop for youngsters in philosophy, whom basking in their new found freedom from restricted thought, fall prey to the logical abomination of reaching conclusions before conducting research. The picture it paints is that of a man who says "God exists. How do I know? Faith". And after some time, he says "God doesnt exist. How do I know? Faith!" In what world does the absence of evidence to prove a thing constitute evidence to prove its absence? Why can't we be honest with ourselves and admit that our knowledge ends where it does and to know more, we have to resort to that old, slow, but reliable means of human advancement called research? And maintain a widely open mind while at it? I dont see how a person can be an atheist and a free thinker...The thought process of an atheist is already bent on proving the non-existence of a thing, as opposed to drifting in consonance with the random waves of facts, evidence, and logic, towards an unknown destination. Atheism is not free thinking. Its just negative faith. |
DanielTheGeek:Got it, Dan. Reading up on the whole mean stack thingy right away. |
mmm....has anyone here read the recently enacted cyber law act 2015? This shit can earn you 10million naira fine or years imprisonment if you are found guilty. Am saying this because this falls under the category of hacking a 'National Infrastructure' which the act addresses. Hacking a private organization can be overlooked...but since 2015, anything that has to do with the government is red zone!!! |
Dan! Ten Years? Wow! How old are you? (Okay... I will pm you. so you tell me in private). Thats a lot of experience right there!!! Wonderful write up!!! In my own sentiments about languages (off the back of my hand): php is like a donkey (gets you where you need to be; but nothing really sexy), java is like a lion (forceful, can be slow, always strong, damn sexy, often an overkill though) c# feels metallic, (too inflexible and always an overkill), and javascript is just sweet. So flexible and yet so effective. It feels beautiful. Now am just ranting... Excellent write up Dan! |
Reply Naa.... Have stuff to start tomorrow. |
I can. Now, state the specifics. What's in it for me? If ur talking business, pm me. If it's just a challenge, pls say so. |
DanielTheGeek:Cool. Ll keep my ears strained |
Nothing serious...just jonsing...but you guys know that wearing suit to advertise for programming related stuff is like wearing snickers and shorts to represent a client in court, right? That guy that is operating his laptop in suit, while looking at the camera looks like he has never being at a computer for more than 2 hours. Again. Am just jonsing. |
DanielTheGeek:Interesting, Dan. Whats your start up about? |
Wow! The site is so simple and free of clutter! I definitely like it! I suspect the fonts could be nicer and some texts could use justification, But at this stage, I think you did an excellent job! |
FrankLampard:Noted. Will inform you once an opportunity presents itself. Thanks for the confidence. |
VenantCode:LOL! I didn't go very far at all so my advice is probably impotent in that regard. I couldn't get past a matrix problem that seemed simple at first glance but it felt awesome participating. |
dhtml18:Lol! See baba ooo. Eke aro sir! (I dont know the evening version) |
VenantCode:Yeah. I did last year. Dont know if its been held this year. As to my methods, I mainly rely on AI to try to guess urls, guess encryption methods (selects the right algorithm from a list of algorithms using factory design pattern) grab and grill data which programmers thought unreachable because they encrypted it with simple ceaser cipher (you wouldnt believe how often thats used!). There are also ways to break android apps, and obtain data which many of us know here, like the regular change android extension, which hundreds of nigerian developers fall victim to, or the dex file decompilation which even I myself take for granted sometimes. When a site/app is done by a senior developer, there is little you can do to it because they use the right frameworks to lock you out (try hacking c# mvc ), but with all the cheap, junior programmers, whom are getting all the jobs these days, the Nigerian internet landscape is practically begging anyone who is interested to hack it for fun, succeed, and land a job in the victim company. lol By the by, am just giving my opinion now...enjoying the developer community like I always do. |

Arrested on what grounds? I believe the issue is not up for debate yet, if anyone takes it up, we ll discuss it then)(and please try to learn the position of the Nigerian law on that matter before u do) . In the meantime, the easiest way to get the attention of a cto is to show him the vulnerabilities in what he has built. and pen testing won't get u the attention. That's cheap. Am talking algorithms here, ppl. Try hacking Facebook. Succeed, send them the details of it exploit without abusing the data in anyway , tell me you ll be imprisoned. |
danidee10:No. It's called ethical hacking. Your helping them not stealing from them. Provided you : 1. Let them know you hacked it 2. Let them know the vulnerabilities in the site 3. Do not destroy their data 4. Do not use their data for personal use... |

Do you have a portfolio of at least 5 serious apps u ve worked on? (I don't mean index page Web templates) You should add it here. Some big boys are watching. Then connect with some gurus in Lagos like dhtml. Finally, try finding and hacking a site, then send the results of ur exploits to the sites owners. That works all the time. If all fails, consider joining a tech firm near you for free. If ur good, opportunities will assail u before 2 months elapse. Good luck bro. This field is heavily sought after. You ll get something soon. |
Spring mvc all the way |
thumbs up, bro. Its not easy to write code with that mindset that the public will read it The minor criticisms I have are: 1. Both your github readme file, and your post here fail to define the exact unsolved problem this library addresses. You seem to assume that we will be interested in reading your code just because you wrote it, but as you can see, I am probably the only person who had that much interest. Please do something about that. 'preventing polluting your window object... and managing your javascript files' is just too vague. 2. The github link you shared is not pointing to the repository. I had to search for it myself. I imagine very few 'reviewers' and potential contributors are that patient. 3. Your comments are a little scanty. I know these can be easily implemented since the main work is quite okay (atleast, the way I read it). Good job. |
finco apps...making sense since 1900BC |
dhtml18:lol! its been a while, sire! |
07030692244. if the job is really 24 hours , contact me and consider it done. |
sammyomal:] 35k can get a good laptop. I suggest you read this; http://larisoftng..com.ng/2016/07/buying-laptop-for-programming.html |
dhtml18:As in ehh!!! |
sammyomal:The answer is no. You will need to put in hours EVERY DAY. |
The guys here have answered you well. The only thing I know that can stop you from programming is 1. Lack of dedication. 2. Unavailability of a computer 3. Unavailability of power supply. If you could come to this forumn and post this question with this level of coherence, you can learn the basics. As to programming and mathematics, two different games, man. You would need calculus to write unreal engine. But fortunately for us, you likely wont be writing unreal engine for a looooong time. And you can make a lot of impact in programming without having to write unreal engine. |

How is it negative faith. Define the terms here. 'Freethinker' 'Atheist' and 'negative faith' let's see how they correlate and differ.
