Hello mommas
I've been following this thread for a while and I marvel at the love shared amongst people here despite being a faceless forum. I salute una grin

I have one observation though, the #teamJuly are not very regular on the thread. Na so so June, August, September I dey see.
I rep #teamJuly o but i don't know who to pay my dues to therefore I shall pocket my dollar tongue

Is anybody due late July or early August and experiencing Pelvic pains? Infact turning over in bed is difficult for me.
What could be responsible for this and how can I manage it? Anybody?

Hola!
So Atlanta mommas that have used Northside hospital, please what was the experience like, did you get free strollers too. I personally would prefer a free car seat. cheesy
Did you get private wards? Hope your final bills didn't differ too much from the estimates given. What's it like.
If you paid upfront for CS delivery and birthed naturally, did you get a refund on the difference?
How was Dr. Valisia? Did she eventually accept tests from Naija?
Being in Atlanta, I'd expect baby documentations to be sorted out quicker. Was this the case?
Please share your experiences, it would really be a great learning.
Gracias

Hellooooo! I hope we do o, it would be really nice.

So these were the steps I took:
1. I preregistered online as advised by Iphie26 and ify4charm
2. A week after preregistering, I called their pre-registration dept: as Passionantchica adivised you to. I followed the voice prompt till i was connected to an agent. I told her i preregistred online and was calling to ask for my account number. She asked for my names and date of birth and afterwards gave me my account number.
3. After I got my number, I called Lisa I gave her my account number and asked for wire information which she forwarded via email to me.

I hope this helps.

Thanks
The issue is that my calls have always on the queue and I just get tired and end it. I'll keep trying though, hopefully I'll get through soon.
Thanks a bunch!

Hi cutie333,

I am yet to get an appointment letter from the doctor. Am following up with with the doctor's office for that.
I will visit sterling bank on Monday with the price estimate and see if that will be accepted so that I can process through them. Did you also submit your doctor's appointment letter?
I will be travelling in June, am a July mom and I will be staying with Family.

Thanks.
Hiya! Travelling in June as well and due in July. We should jam in Atlanta. By the way, how did you get account details of the hospital?
I've preregistered online and as advised by Ify4charm but just got an auto reply mail, nothing else since then. I've also called the preregistration and financial counselling departments severally but no one ever picks.
What else can I do please?

Well, seems no one has ever thought in that direction but you could try it and who knows, you could just be opening our eyes to another reason to give to the popular question.
Actually, people have. A friend told me about a lady's POE encounter at Houston that went somewhat like this;

CBP: why did you choose the US to have your baby? And don't give me the usual "better health care" line
Lady: I want to give my kids the opportunity that comes with being American and since I can afford it, why not!
CBP: (laughing and nodding)...now, who taught you to say that? (Still laughing )
Lady: Well, you wanted to hear the truth.

Can't remember how the rest of the conversation went but the lady definitely wasn't deported and I think that was her second time in the US for child birth.

Are there any mamas that didn't use epidural for their first? How was it like? I'm still very undecided if I want to take the Hebrew woman route. I dey fear sha.
My dear, even if you decide not to use it now, when labour sets in, you'll be begging for it and you may or may not get it at that point.
During my first pregnancy, I decided I wasn't gonna use it. But when I got into active labour I begged for it and they said NO. Their reason? I didn't indicate interest in it during my antenatals and they didn't have an anaesthesiologist on ground at that moment. I was just 4cm dilated when it started. I was in pains for over 12 hours! This was one of the so called top 3 hospitals in Lagos!
My doctor actually passed a comment that my pain endurance level was quite high wink
But guess what? I was happy with myself that I didn't use it eventually and I'm not gonna use it for my second hoping my hubby will be by my side to help soothe the pain and that my labour will progress faster than the first wink
But I hear epidural it's bae and isn't a bad idea grin

Hi Larrytoks.
What's the feedback with Northside? Did you go through with the pre registration, and did you get their account deets?
Not yet o. When I started the pre-registration, I got to a point where they asked for my address, so I want to sort out my accommodation before I finalise it.

@ Larrytoks

If you use a wheel chair you may be able to carry your toddler on your lap but limit your hand luggage to essentials and check in every other thing.

I hope this helps.
Thanks @happytbaby. Guess it's not as bad as it seems.

Hello people. I'm about booking my flight to Atlanta via Airfrance for my June trip. It's about 4 hours stop over in France on the outgoing leg and 3 hrs on the return leg.I'm still contemplating whether or not to book my toddler with me or with his dad who will join me 4 weeks later.
I have a few questions that might help me make a decision.
1. Are you entitled to book a wheelchair service while pregnant and travelling with a toddler? How will your child and carry on luggage be managed?
2. Will a stroller end up being a life saver or a nightmare considering the fact that you have a carry on bags?
3. For mommas that have tried it, I know the overall experience would be stressful but how stressful was it? Would you do it again?

I really want to go with my son because I will definitely need his company before my husband arrives, so please I need your advice.

Thanks.

Call their pre-registration dept: +1 (404) 459-1280. And follow the voice prompt. You'd be asked your personal details. After pre-reg, ask for your account number, and the wire details. Follow the directions given you.
Ok, will do that. Thanks a bunch.

TravelRe: U.S. Non-immigrant Visas: We’re Listening by larrytoks: 6:52pm On Mar 08, 2016
Hello Nigeria NIV Team,

I completed my DS-160 form and printed the confirmation and the application for my reference. While I was filling another form for my son, and making reference to my printed application, I realized I had skipped my Education information on my own form. I guess I just selected "does not apply" unknowingly and moved past it.
My question is; do I need to fill another DS-160 form due to this error or can this omission be overlooked without jeopardizing my chances of getting the visa?

Please advise.
Thanks

TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by larrytoks: 4:32pm On Feb 06, 2015
Pls I need advice on how to resolve this problem. My hubby, son and myself intend to travel to the UK for our next vacation and we already created an application but we didn't realize we had to have 3 separate applications for the 3 of us and we only found out when we got to teleperformance today for the appointment we booked in my husband's name. Now we have to go back and create 2 more applications for my self and my son but the problem is getting a new appointment date for my husband so that we can all go together for the biometrics, there's no provision for updating the appointment on his application because we already made payment. If we create a new application for him as well, what happens to the payment we already made? Any ideas on how we can resolve this?

Christianity EtcRe: Christian Student Disrupts Jumuat Service At UI by larrytoks: 8:17am On Aug 17, 2010
When it's a Muslim dat does sth as bad as this, u hear things like,
"maybe she was carrying a bomb under her clothes to kill the christians, ", "Muslims are terrorists", "their religion is evil", and all the unprintable, biased and unfair things u can ever think of.
But now that the culprit is a christian, disrupting a jumat service, all u can hear is that she's a lunatic, she's insane, dat's all, so that if the case eventually gets to court, her case would be argued out on the grounds that an insane person is unconscious and can not be held responsible for her actions! Imagine the bias!
So who are the fanatics here, who are the fundamentalists?
Well said Okija_juju,
If the VC is a just leader and he really wants peace on the campus, he should do what is right by expelling the girl from the school, so that some overzealous Muslim students would not take laws into their hands and try to attack the girl which would lead to a violent religious crisis on the campus.
The christian community in U.I should also apologize to the Muslim community to put an end to this issue.
