A VOICE OF ONE CALLING IN THE DESERT ,”PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD ,MAKE STRAIGHT PATHS FOR HIM”       LUKE 3:4

 

The ‘voice ….calling in the desert” demanded a “way for the Lord ,a way prepared, and one specifically prepared in the desert . I must be attentive to my Master’s proclamation and allow Him a road into my heart ,one actually prepared by His gracious work through the desert of my nature . Our text today is a quote from Isaiah 40:3,and the four directives from Isaiah 40:4 must be given my serious attention.

 

“Every valley shall be raised up” . Low shallow thoughts of God must be given up ,doubting and despairing must be removed, and self –seeking and sinful delights must be forsaken . Across these deep valleys a glorious causeway of grace must be raised.

 

“Every mountain and hill shall be made low” Proud self-sufficiency and boastful self righteousness must be leveled to make a highway for “the King of kings” (1 timothy 6:15). God’s divine fellowship is never granted to haughty ,high-minded sinners .”The Lord ….looks upon the lowly (psalm 138:6) and dwells “with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit” (Isaiah 57:15) ,but He “detests all the proud of heart “ (proverb 16:5) . My soul ,petition the Holy Spirit to set your heart right on this.

 

“The crooked shall be made straight” A wavering heart must have a straight path of decision for God ,one for holiness “marked out” . (Hebrew 12:1) for it . “A double –minded man is unstable in all he does (James 1: and is a stranger to “the God of truth” .My soul ,take heed that in all things you are honest and true “for the Lord searches every heart “ (I chronicle 28: 9).

 

“The rugged places shall be a plain” . stumbling blocks of sins must be removed and “thorns and thistles “ (Hebrew 6: of rebellion must be uprooted .Our great Visitor must not find muddy paths and rock –covered roads when He comes to honor His favored ones with His presence.

 

Oh,may the Lord find in my heart today a highway made ready by His grace ,one upon which He may make triumphal progress to the very limits of my soul from the beginning of this year to its last days !

Because according to DK,nothing good can come from PDP . I've told Dayo in this thread that what it takes PDP to beat ACN is just for them to give us credible candidate because certainly lagosians are tired of Tinubu's ACN .

People who believe the PDP can't win Lagos are just being overtly emotional

As long as Bode "Tewonde" george and his kind have a firm grip on the killer party in that state, am sorry to say that nothing good can ever come out.

That's one of the five things I stated when I started this thread,that is ,reducing to the bearest minimium the influence of Bode George . Jimi Agbaje is a tough and radical guy and he can do it if given the chance .

He also said it publicly to Afam and andre uweh on one thread . Well,that one don pass ,hoping many of ibo posters who left in annoyance will be back as one of them is now a MOD

There is no good party or politician . It's just a question of comparative badness . I wonder why some people are saying they cannot vote for PDP again. .

If PDP can present great guys like Fashola with proven records of performance, I'm sure lagosians whose votes really count will vote for such candidate .

LET THE NATION RENEW THEIR STRENGTH ISAIAH 41: 1

Everything on earth needs renewal from time to time,for no created things continues forever by itself . The Psalmist said of the Lord "You renew the face of the earth " (Psalm 104 : 30) .Even trees,which never have to worry about daily care nor shorten their lives through difficult work,must drink in the rain of heaven and absorb the hidden treasures of the soil . "The cedars of lebanon that (God) planted " live only because they are full of sap freshly drawn day by day from the earth .

Neither can human life be sustained without renewal from God . Just as it is necessary to restore the body’s energy with frequent meals ,we must reenergize the soul by feeding on God’s Book ,by listening to the word being preached and by observing the soul-strengthening sacraments . How weak our spiritual gifts become when we neglect these means of renewal. What poor starving saints some believers are who neglect the diligent use of the Word of God and time of prayer. If our spirituality can survive without God ,it is not of divine creation –it is nothing but a dream .If it has been born of God ,it will look to Him as flowers look to the dew of heaven .

 

Without constant renewal and restoration, we are not ready for the perpetual assaults of hell, the afflictions of heaven, or even the stresses and strains within us . When the whirlwind is unleashed, woe to the tree that has not absorbed fresh sap from the earth and grasped the rock below with many intertwined roots . When fierce storms arise ,woe to mariners who have not strengthened their mast ,dropped anchor or sought a safe haven .

 

If we allow the good among us to grow weaker, the evil ones will surely gather strength and will struggle to gain control over us ,and perhaps then a time of painful desolation or a disgraceful sin may follow .Instead ,may we draw near to the footstool of divine mercy in humble prayer, for only then will we realize the fulfillment of the promise . “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength “ Isaiah 40:31 .

We,the called ,the faithful,and the chosen should be determined to drive our grief away and to set up our banners of confidence in the name of our God . Let others lament over their troubles,but we who have the 'piece of sweet wood' (Exodus 15:25) to throw into marah's bitter pool will joyfully glorify the Lord . Psalm 34 : 3

"We rejoice and delight in you " We are resolved to do so .Jesus must be the crown of our heart's delight ,for we will not dishonor our Bridegroom by mourning in His presence .We who have been ordained ultimately to be the chorus of the skies ,let us rehearse our everlasting anthem here before we sing it in the halls of "the Jerusalem" (Rev 21 :2 ).

"We rejoice and delight in you" .These two words ,rejoice and delight ,have one sense: double joy and blessedness upon blessedness .Thus,does there need to be any limit to our rejoicing in the Lord now ? Don't people of grace find their Lord to be "henna and nard...calamus and cinnamon" (song 4:13,14) even now ? What better fragrance will they have in heaven itself ?

"We rejoice and delight in you " The last word,you is like the meat of the dish ,the kernel of the nut,the soul of the text . What heavens are found in Jesus ! What rivers of infinite bliss have their source,their end,and every drop of their fullness in Him !

O sweet Lord Jesus,since You are the present portion of your people,favor us this year with such a sense of your preciousness that from its first day to its last ,"we may rejoice and delight in you "

May January open with joy in the Lord ,and may the year close in December with gladness in Jesus

Are we gonna be stuck forever with Tinubu and his ACN then ? Havinh a vibrant opposition party to beat is the beauty of democracy .

When others are deeply thinking of how to get a purposeful and masses friendly government in Lagos, the Op is proposing a failed federal tested and master rogue party. PDP just like the ACN is surrounded with charlatans, mediocres and corrupt individuals so Why should we move from frying pan to fire and Why sell a bad product to purchase the worst?

What makes you think the candidate our Emperor ,Tinubu will choose is gonna perform ?

There is no doubt that lagosians especially the middle class and lower class are fed of Fashola and his anti -mass policies and programmes which has rendered many people penniless to the delight of his godfather ,Bola Tinubu .

From aggrieved medical doctors,to many displaced traders and okada riders to LASU students who could no longer afford to pay their school fees,the list is endless of aggrieved lagosians who will not want to see another Fashola returns to Alausa come 2015 .

Now,to be sincere with ourselves,ACN cannot be compared to PDP when it comes to performances especially in southwest . Most of the governors PDP has given us has performed so woefully and this has given ACN some confidence that they now has SW in their pockets .

These are what I think PDP can do to win Lagos come 2015 :

1. Present Jimi Agbaje as their candidate.

2.Mobilize support for him with likes of Obanikuro,Femi Pedro,Mamora and also woo some aggrieved ACN candidates to their side .

3. Make consultations with okada riders associations,medical unions and other trade unions who has felt negative impacts of ACN led administration.

4. Draw up a blueprint for higher institutions in Lagos and make promise towards reducing LASU school fee.

5.Reduce to bearest minimium the influence of like of Bode George and his old brigade .

These are more or less a fairy tale especially in Naija politics . It is something like asking Buhari and Tinubu to forget their presidential ambitions to more acceptable,younger guys like Fashola,Oshiomole,SLS ,El Rufai etc when they finally conclude their merger talks .

I'm not really surprised at this man's response . That's the state of mind of an average northern muslim .in islam ,it is counted as a spiritual worship when you kill an 'infidel' .

And the Jesus has prophesied in Matthew that a time will come when those who kill you will think they are offering service to God ....

How about this : Should state of origin be substituted for state of residence in or constitution ? I think I saw something like that on AIT .

@The first bolded, i have urged that you PointB be allowed to carry on as Electoral Commission just as you have been doing in the pass elections reason for the urge was given in the same post.Electoral Commissioner should be allowed to appoint those who him deem fit to work with.

2 The second bolded, Yes i adopted some part of the former nomination guidelines except non igbos and allies to be eligible to nominate or vote, and few other changes was made.This is Eze Ndigbo election not Nigeria presidency election.Anyone who is not igbo is ineligible to nominate or vote.Though we allowed them in the pass to nominate their choice candidates due to our tolerance nature but few elements among them took our generosity for weakness and cause many havoc in the previous election.For this reasons i decided that we make them ineligible to nominate or vote.

Concerning forgiveness: I made it clear that it is not a law but personal appeal to igbos it can be uphold it may not.

I made mention on my first post that whomever that publicly denigrate igbos or our leaders or what majority igbos hold in high esteen,or sister state.Anyone who was find committing any of these acts written above is automatically disqualified from participate in any election as a voter neither as contestant in any leadership position.

Why shd pointB continue as the electotal commissioner ? Is he the only credible igbo guy on NL who can get the 'work' done ? What about Afam ?

Make money through business .
Go into politics when independent candidancy is constitutionally allow.
If not,create the awareness for independent candidancy until NASS amend the constitution to that effect.
Go for lecturing primarily to impact values to the next generations .

I support fully this regional integration only if Tinubu will not control more than 50 percents if the projects and programmes under the scheme .

Read and see how North and East with different agenda scrample for the collapse of the West for the selfish political pains .
