Politics / Suicide Bombers Are Being Forced Into The Act: Revelation By Abu Qaqa by latogng: 9:03am On Feb 09, 2012
From Abu Qaqa, spokesman of the dreaded Boko Haram, came a stunning revelation that suicide bombers have no choice than to accept an assignment. He said no member of the Islamist sect volunteered to take part in suicide bombing.

According to the sect’s mouthpiece, it is like the worst of dilemma for any member to be picked for the job of suicide bombing.
Qaqa, whom other members of the group insist is not the real Abu Qaqa, was arrested by the State Security Service (SSS) in Kaduna last week. He is still in the SSS custody from where he is saying all he knew about Boko Haram.

“It is a game of utmost loyalty by compulsion where a member handpicked by the group must comply because either way, being picked means being marked for death. You accept the offer and end in death, or refuse it to still end that way.”
According to Qaqa, “no suicide bomber of the group volunteers or ever volunteered to die that way. They are usually handpicked. Once you are handpicked, it is death either way: If you refuse, you would be killed on the orders of the leadership. So, while faced with such two options of death, most selected members grudgingly or willingly preferred the suicide bomb option far away from their wives and children.

“At a point, some of us thought suicide bombing was ‘cowardice’, but confronting the leadership with such a position would have come with a price: death.“What was bad about those handpicked for the suicide mission was that all of them were non-Kanuris. They were always Chadians, Nigeriens, Cameroonians, Hausa, Fulani and others. No Kanuri was ever selected. That was why some of us had divided opinion on it,” the arrested hitman revealed.

The terror suspect had revealed earlier in the week that members who showed signs of attack weary are in the presence of family members and because of this, those selected for the job prefer the honour of killing others as heroes than being brutally killed in the presence of family members. He said also that picking of members for suicide mission is the exclusive preserve of the Boko Haram leader, Imam Shekau, who himself is Kanuri, and possibly the reason he never selected any of his ethnic group for the journey of no return.

Today, it is beyond doubt that Qaqa, who himself and the group had disowned as the notorious spokesman, whom all the declarations of the group were attributed to, is actually the right person, thereby making him the biggest catch of the security system so far. He made the last revelation yesterday to the SSS in continuation of his interrogation.
Meanwhile, the Kano State Joint Security Task Force confirmed yesterday that four Boko Haram members were killed in the enforcement of security operations in Mariri Area, Warara Local Government Area.

Briefing reporters, the task force’s spokesman, Lt. Ikedichi Iweche, said that on January 6, 2012 at 5pm, the sect’s members opened fire on his men even without provocation. He noted that the officers exercised the needed restraint, but were forced to respond within minutes, especially when it became clear that the suspects had Improvised Explosives Devices (IEDs) on them and were freely throwing the explosives at the joint security team.
“The Joint Services Assault Team had to effectively cordone off the area and engage the men in a sustained gunfire which lasted till about 3.40am.

“It was observed that the occupants of the compound had substantial firepower and continued firing and throwing IEDs indiscriminately”, adding that eventually, the reinforcement was able to subdue the gunmen. He said that at the end of the stand-off, four casualties were recorded on the side of the suspected terrorists while no member of his team was killed. Lt. Iweche stressed that thereafter, a search conducted on the premises revealed that the suspects’ facility, which was attacked, was actually a bomb manufacturing facility as well as an operational warehouse.

He noted that they recovered several IEDs (unexploded), 10 AK 47 riffles with 27 loaded magazines of ammunition, one pump-action gun , 223 live ammunition in packets, several mobile police uniforms and assorted identity cards to facilitate their operations. Besides, several bags of Urea fertilizers as well as assorted connection cables for detonating IEDs were seized.

“The success of the operation was hinged upon the fact that these materials would have been unleashed not only on the Joint Security Forces, but on innocent members of the public as was witnessed sadly on January 20, 2012,” he declared. He thanked the people of the state for their overwhelming support, adding that they have been providing them valuable information.

hen miss Isiwatu Ajayi received a text message, allegedly sent to her by Bisi, the wife of a welder, Kabiru Ogunlana, warning her to stop her love affairs with her husband, she took it as one of the empty threats. But she was proved wrong penultimate Thursday. Bisi and her husband were said to have stormed Ajayi’s residence at Mafoluku, Oshodi, Lagos State, that fateful day and at the end of the invasion, Ajayi ended up in a morgue, stone dead.

Initially, the victim did not see anything wrong in a couple visiting her but she was forced to change her thought, when Bisi watched, as her husband stabbed her severally. Though Ajayi, whose body was deposited at the General Hospital, Isolo, did not live to tell the story, members of her family say all they want is justice.

Giving a graphic account of how Ajayi, an orphan, was gruesomely murdered by her lover, Idowu, the deceased’s friend alleged how Ogunlana’s wife actually supervised her murder. She disclosed how Ajayi earlier complained that one of the wives of Ogunlana, warned her to discontinue her intimate relationship with her husband.

She recalled how the deceased and Ogunlana met and fell in love about two years ago. The relationship, according to her, was so strong that people even thought Ogunlana would marry her as his third wife.
According to her, when one of his wives knew about their relationship, she started threatening Ajayi, warning her to leave her husband alone. “But Ogunlana kept telling Ajayi not to quit, assuring her that the matter would soon be resolved amicably,” she said.

She revealed that Ogunlana was living up to expectations, by taking care of her and her three-year-old child.
She told Crimewatch that when the threat from the woman was becoming too much for her, Ajayi left where she was learning how to sew clothes and started hawking herbal mixture (agbo). She recalled: “Immediately the couple stormed Ajayi’s room, Bisi commanded her husband to deal with the victim. But Ogunlana was confused, he didn’t know what to do until his wife started booing him, calling him a coward. She challenged him to kill Ajayi, if he was a man. The man became confused and in the midst of that confusion, Ogunlana drew a knife and started stabbing her repeatedly.”

The victim was said to have fainted and when Bisi realized the weight and consequences of her husband’s action, she took to her heels, abandoning him at the crime scene. But when Ogunlana discovered that she was dead, he used the same knife to stab himself. “He started stabbing himself, and wanted to commit suicide, but he was rescued and rushed the hospital by some people. Idowu is, however of the view that Ogunlana’s wife might have used some 'spiritual powers’ to influence her husband to act the way he did. “I can’t explain what transpired that day. Ogunlana loved Ajayi too such that nothing but spiritual power would have made him kill her,” she said.

She said there is dilemma over who takes care of the child she left behind. She lamented: “Ajayi has no parents, no brothers and sisters, who is going to take care of the little child?”
She, however, appealed to the State commissioner of police, Mr. Yakubu Alkali, to bring the killers of her friend to justice. A police source disclosed that Ogunlana is lying critical at a General Hospital in Lagos , while his wife is still at large.

The source said the police were investigating the matter and would soon unravel the circumstances surrounding the murder.“We can’t say what really transpired. Ajayi is dead, the man who allegedly stabbed her dead is still unconscious at the hospital. The wife, who allegedly masterminded the killing is still at large. So, we are yet to know what transpired.” The command’s spokesman Jaiyoba Joseph, confirmed the incident but said the police were still investigating the tragedy

Religion / Angry Mob Razes Church Where Members Worship Founder’s Skeleton by latogng: 12:37pm On Jan 20, 2012
For the Millennium Gospel Mission, a self-acclaimed spiritual church located at Oremeji Street, Alekuwodo, Osogbo, Osun State, it was the end of a most controversial and mysterious era. Last week, the acts of the church that had been hidden in the past 30 years were brought to the open. Human skulls and other vital parts of the human body were allegedly discovered inside the church after it was set ablaze by an irate mob tired of the mysterious spiritual operations of members.

The development caused a pandemonium in Osogbo, as many youths and residents of the town trooped out to stage a violent protest against the activities of the church. According to many, the founder of the sect, Late Mr. Jacob Adebayo Oladele had died about 20 years ago. His followers kept worshipping his skeleton even after his demise.
Members of the controversial sect were said to regard to founder of the sect as their god and saviour who died for them. As a result, they made their supplications through him.

On Wednesday, January 11, many people were totally bamboozled when they discovered that the skeleton of the founder of the sect was still being worshipped over 20 years after his death. Various objects, including human blood, as well as other ritual objects were used to worship the corpse of the Late Oladele. Indeed, members of the sect visited the church daily to seek divine guidance and direction for the day from their deceased leader.
Trouble started for members of the sect when about 13 members, led by a three-year-old boy, allegedly came out in the night to perform rituals at a junction close to the church along WAEC Road, Osogbo.

The members were said to have marched in a procession while one of them was beating a drum. The situation forced residents of the area to move out and see what was happening, after which they challenged the peculiar worshippers. The sect members were subsequently arrested by residents of the area who gave them the beating of their lives before handing them over to the police. They then set the church building ablaze even as an angry mob that had converged on the area immediately the news broke out started a protest. One of the protesters raised the alarm that some members of the sect were camped in a building close to the church. He then led the mob to the building.

Eyewitnesses said the man became unconscious as soon as he entered the building and it took the intervention of some members of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC) before he could regain his consciousness. The OPC members later broke into the building where some members of the sect were staying. Some other persons who appeared to have been used for rituals were also discovered in a hypnotised state in the building. A resident of the area who also forced his way into the building told our reporter that a young girl was seen kneeling down with some bananas on her palm inside the building. According to him, in spite of the numerous stones thrown at her, the girl could not be brought down. She was eventually brought down by mobile policemen who used their weapons to push her down.

But for the prompt arrival of the police, the mob would have set fire on the members of the sect found in the building. The police eventually dispersed the mob with teargas. For long, several mysterious tales had been told of activities going on in the church. For instance, the main doors leading to the church were said to have remained unopened since it was built over 30 years ago, a development that had always confounded residents of the area. It was learnt that some residents of the area who noticed strange operations in the church at midnights had in 2010 reported their suspicions to the state police command, but nothing was heard from the law enforcement agents thereafter.

It was also gathered that the church, which had a membership of close to 80 people, often had some of its members walking naked in the evenings, especially on Fridays. Our reporter was told that, many people had vacated their apartments in the area and sought accommodation elsewhere. A resident of the area, Mr. Seun Ayotunde said: “The church has been there since I was a child, and I have never seen its doors opened either in the day or at night. We only noticed that some people came out of the church naked occasionally and that always worried us in this area. We were tired of the church even before the incident of that Wednesday. What happened shows that God has answered our prayers, and it shows that truth will always prevail over falsehood even if it takes time. We only pray that this case will not be like other ones that will soon be forgotten by the law enforcement agents.”

“It was the children that called the attention of some people to the development on that fateful Wednesday night. People of the area knew the activities of the members of the church but nobody dared to talk. Fortunately, the information got to the OPC members who led the protest and that was how an end came to their acts and their deeds of many years were exposed to the public. They were handed over to the police after their property had been vandalized and the buildings burnt by the protesters.”

He added: “The angry mob dared the police due to the fact that we were all tired of their unholy operations in the area. The protesters insisted that the policemen should kill them if they would not allow them to burn the church. When it became very obvious that there would be loss of lives if the policemen denied them, the police left the scene. Some members of the sect have now been arrested and very soon, we hope to hear from the police on further developments on the matter. “Nobody in this area can tell you when the members of the sect entered or came out of that church. The door was always locked. We would only hear their voices either in the day or at night. We are appealing to the police to ensure that they get to the root of the matter and punish the offenders appropriately. Because if these people should regain their freedom, we are no more free in this area.”

Members of the sect, it was learnt, included both young and old men and women, and they appeared inside the building thrice a week, including nights. Vigils were also said to be held by members of the sect on Fridays. The activities of the sect, according to competent sources, were always held inside the church even though the doors and windows of the building were always closed. But their loud noise always disturbed the residents of the area who had reportedly made frantic efforts to curtail them to no avail. A member of the sect who identified himself as Olusanmi Oladele claimed that members of the sect were worshiping the “universal god of Jacob Adebayo Oladele (JAO).” He said even though their ‘god’ had passed on, the deceased still answered their prayers. He said they would continue to worship Oladele until they all joined him in heaven.

Said he: “The name of our god is God Oladele. And the church was founded and owned by him. I am one of the children of our god. It is the god of Oladele that created the church and he is the one we are following and we will continue to follow him even after this trying time of ours, which we are bound to overcome. Although god Oladele is dead, but we believe so much in his powers and ability to do whatever we ask from him for us and that is why we are still following him even till today, years after he had died.”

It was also gathered that a branch of the mysterious church located at Capital area of Osogbo was also set ablaze by the protesters, just as a business café belonging to a member of the sect was razed during the violent protest.
The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Solomon Olusegun who confirmed the incident, said that the angry mob trooped to the church when they discovered that rituals were being carried out at the place to the detriment of human lives. “The angry mob stormed the church and set it on fire. They said the church is fetish and that the worshipers are using other human beings for rituals. The worshipers have been arrested and we are?investigating the matter. Further details will be made known as soon as police conclude investigations on the matter,” the police boss said.

Computers / Processor Speed Or Ram(random Access Memory): Which Determines Speed Of A Pc? by latogng: 11:25am On Dec 07, 2011
Good day to you all,I need a little education as regards certain system unit components and its significance in the operation of a system.
A good scenario is two systems listed below,Which should be faster among a system with;
(1). 2.3Ghz processor speed with 512mb Ram(Random access Memory) and
(2). 1.7Ghz processor speed with 1Gb Ram(Random access Memory)
Assuming they have the same Hard Disk installed and having used the same percentage of space, So my question is which of these CPU components actually determines the speed of a system,
Your Views and comment would be Highly appreciated,
