I don't understand you saying GEJ played politics with the confab! Is the confab itself not politics?? Gej did not make his administration solely a southern affair and it seems to be his failure but he did well for the Awusa man. The confab was done in 2014 and election took place in 2015 which he lost. So I don't see how he refused to implement it cos I'm sure that would have kick started if he won.

The Awusa man is not the president of the Awusa he is of Nigeria. It is clear that he and the APC do not even for second want to consider the confab report that was not just a request from the Niger Delta but a national agreement to the development of the country.

I really have to commend you for your analysis. I am from delta and I want you to note that the SE cry for secession and the Niger Delta cry for resource control are two different things.
Though I haven't been to the north, I have a picture of how it is over there from what my friends who have served there has said...
The truth is secession is almost close to impossible but fiscal federalism is not far fetched.

I support your saying that the north will collapse economically if it comes to fend for yourself and it seems unfair but its the reality, they haven't done so much for themselves and have been too relaxed in terms of being spoon fed and not really harnessing their own potentials, they could be more proactive and prepare for it cos its surely gonna happen and sooner than we all think. The only way out now is for leaders of those regions to look inwards and see how they can buy some time (fighting won't do much) and invest to become self sufficient when the time comes.
Most of those states do not need Airports but serious investments in agriculture and solid minerals which they have have but no the governors would prefer to commission an airport that won't generate revenue but instead suck the few in guise of maintenance

You can now see where the issue is bro. The SE and SS know that they can do more if allowed to control it's resources. The stress on the Niger delta is on a critical level if you follow statistics (2.2million barrels per day) for years. That's enough to turn the region into a Texas and the region is not even appreciated.

But the federal government is behind in its own budget looking at the predictions from crude sales that dropped from 2.2million barrels daily to about 900k and also lower income generated from tax.

I'm wondering where this money is going to come from except the government is planning not to implement more than 50% of what was budgeted for.

The problems of Niger delta is purely, poor internal leadership. Most of their leaders are interlopers, profligate, improvident, greedy and self centred. In five years of GEJ'S reign, about seven trillions has been expended on infrastructural development in the Niger delter, but hey, nothing on ground to commensurate the humongous investment.
To be honest, even if the fiscal federalism being agitated by some elements...is adopted, still, the so called Niger delter leaders will not use the oil proceeds judiciously for the benefit of impoverished Niger deltans.

A resource is the right of the people wherever found. Imagine The Governor of state crying that his state is broke and cannot pay salaries to his own state workers because another region has unrest over its own resource, this means that if the Niger delta region continues with their quest for resource control for the next year every other state will go broke and that's parasitism in its empirical form.

We cannot play blind to the fact the people of the delta are not just sympathetic to what the NDA are about but are in support of what is to be achieved though the method is what everyone seems to condemn.

The real cry is not secession but control... Let everyone control his whatever and watch Nigeria blossom.
