There are options available for both AS couples to use and have normal kids. But these options are not cheap and involves a lot of emotional commitment and religious believes. 1. PGD - I will break it down - During IVF, the fertilized embryos will be Gene tested for Sickle Cell. The ones that passed will be implanted and if a pregnancy is achieved, the baby will be okay. Note that IVF/PGD success rate is less than 40%. This procedure will cost more than a million naira with a very low success rate. 2. CVS - This procedure is carried out during the 8th week of pregnancy to determine if the fetus has Sickle Cell gene. The test cost about N250k to N500K depending on where you do it. LUTH is about N300k. As christians, please note that termination is a mortal sin and I do not advise that. 3. Bone marrow transplant - It can be done after the baby has been born and reached a certain age. A donor is gotten most times from the siblings and the procedure is not done here in Nigeria. It cost about 30,000 Euro in Europe to do. 4. Get married and use a donor sperm of AA or Donor Egg of AA to get pregnant. In this way, you have eliminated having SS kids. But the child biologically wont be from one of you. The question is, can your wife agree to carry another person's egg? Or can you allow another person's sperm to be used? Most times, a donor egg is used so that both couples will have a sense of involvement. The sperm is from the you and your wife carried the baby to full term even though the egg is not hers, but carrying the pregnancy and giving birth to the baby will create a special bond between her and the baby. 5. Do not give birth to any child. Simply adopt. There are other procedures that a being developed abroad to achieve SS cure. I believe in a couple of years to come a breakthrough will be announced. It is not easy to end a relationship! |

koning:I hear you. Please tell me why he PMB quote section 145 subsection 1 of 1999 constitution as amended in the letter he transmitted to the N.A? Have you read that section of the constitution and fully understood its intent? If PMB is not on vacation as you stated then why did he write to the N.A? He could have just released a press statement announcing he is traveling to treat himself. |

15 - Adebayo Akinfenwa - Wycombe Wanderers They say it's never too late to achieve your dreams but in this case - at 34 years of age and having never represented either nation at any level youth or senior, Akinfenwa is unlikely to ever play at international level. However, he isn't nicknamed "The Beast" for no reason and if he "gets on the Whatsapp" to either Gareth Southgate or Daniel Amokachi, he can surely sort something out. http://www.squawka.com/news/tammy-abraham-accepts-he-might-have-to-leave-chelsea-to-fulfil-premier-league-dream/822868#!squawka-gallery-1/796712/1/47119951.jpg

14 - Sheyi Ojo - Liverpool Ojo is a player who at just the age of 19, has come on leaps and bounds in his career and is arguably one of the reasons why Ibe felt the need to move onto Bournemouth. The winger has played for England at a number of different youth levels and is likely to be highly-sought after by both nations as he approaches senior level.
13 - Tosin Adarabioyo - Manchester City Adarabioyo has been praised by Pep Guardiola as a player who has a 'big future' at the club and after an excellnet period captaining the under-18s, was thrown into the thick of things last season in a FA Cup game against Chelsea. The teenager has represented England at a number of youth levels but is of Nigerian descent.
12 - Ovie Ejaria - Liverpool The 18-year-old midfielder has featured for the England under-20s but has previously trained and committed his future to Nigeria - so he is certainly yet to make his mind up and is a player in demand. Ejaria is considered a member of the first-team squad and was an unused substitute in Liverpool's 2-1 win over Chelsea in the Premier League, making his debut for the side in the EFL Cup.
11 - Sammy Ameobi - Newcastle United, on loan at Bolton The brother of Shola Ameobi, Sammy, has already opted to commit his future to playing for Nigeria but has yet to actually be selected for the senior national side. Having played for both Nigeria and England at youth level, he could yet switch again if selected by the Three Lions' FA.
10 - Dominic Solanke - Chelsea Chelsea's talented teenage forward is yet to make a single Premier League appearance for Chelsea but has featured for them in the UEFA Champions League and is a highly-rated player. Solanke has played at youth levels from under-16 to under-21 for England and has a Nigerian background
09 - Dominic Iorfa - Wolves At just 21, Iorfa has already made over 70 league appearances for Wolves and is one who both England and Nigeria will want to keep an eye on for the future. He has featured at a number of different levels for the British-based nation and as he reaches a senior age, will need to make a decision sooner or later regarding his future.
