Family / Re: What Is The Right Gift To Gift To My Intending In-laws? by lawrenzooo: 9:46am On Sep 06
Kickkick:
So I'm trying to take the bold step as a man who has come of age and want to do the needful.

First, I want to create familiarity with my fiancee's family especially the mother and father. I already know the sisters and some cousins.

So what little gift do you suggest I should buy and gift to them via my fiancee, pending when to unveil myself properly?

I'll appreciate your kind suggestions.
A gift pervert judgement. The best way is to familiarize yourself with them first. At least they should know you first. Not everyone would accept a gift from a stranger.

Any parastatal hausas and fulani dominate is gone for good. Check the army, customs, immigration, agric. It is same pattern. Whatever favours them personally is the right thing to do and that what becomes the law or norm. See how they use sharia today.
The banking and financial sector can still survive because they don't dominate that. Education and health are alive not because of govt funding but reasonable southerners bring a their token of commonsensical judgement and public work wthics to those sectors.
Are they also in charge of CBN?

Thanks for your advice… I can see the red flag as regards controlling me and also taking my stand at the same time am also trying to consider the condition of my Fiance… can you believe they want insist that they will the one to give us the wedding date when we went to for introduction? They got angry when my parent said they will get back to them.

See Parents would always be parent. They feel you are at their mercy because their daughter is pregnant already which is not the dream of any parent. Deep down they are pained she's pregnant out of wedlock. So in you dealings with them be considerate

If you are not comfortable with a court wedding tell them say you no dey do(I personally do not see anything wrong in that anyways). Its a beautiful thing to actually marry the one carrying your seed if you both see a future together also make your Fiance understand that there is no law compelling you to marry(don't be surprise that your Fiance is actually the one putting her people up to that act) her. If sacrifices can't be made and nobody is ready to see things from the other perspective just put a hold on the wedding plans and support her to have you child until when you both can resolve issues...

Family / Re: My Sister Has Been Finding It Difficult To Forgive Our Aunt. by lawrenzooo: 6:42am On Aug 18
Sonnobax15:
Good day Nairalanders.....Hope everyone of you here is fine and doing just great?

Well, there's a situation my siblings and I have found ourselves in presently.......It's been 19 years since we lost our mom and those years were really hectic years for us,due to the circumstances surrounding her death because she was murdered................But somehow, God came to our rescue and we've all grown now cheesy

Before my mom's death, she had a sister who was her only blood sister, tho they had other step siblings...... Honestly,as I kid,I remembered how many times my mom tried to resolve the dispute between she and her only blood sister but all were to no avail.....She(my aunt) was hell-bent on the fact that she'd rather die than to settle things up with my mom.......Even in her death bed,i remember how my elder sister went to inform my aunt about our mom's situation and everything that led to what happened to her,but she gave deaf ears and even chased my sister away.....

I was only a little boy then, but I remembered every single thing that transpired then ..

Now here's the problem.........My aunt has been on our necks, begging us to forgive her......There was a time we were invited to our maternal home for a family meeting, and my aunt happened to be around.....She knelt and was weeping and begging us to forgive her....... Personally, I'm a soft-hearted person and I've toured my heart to see if I could forgive her and I think I'm about to let bygones be bygones.......But my other siblings especially my elder sister has sworn never to forgive her grin. Tho I've tried to talk to my sister but she has vehemently refused never to forgive her .....My other uncles have summoned another meeting but my sister has vowed to ignore their calls.......

Should my sister be blamed for finding it hard to find a place in her heart to forgive my Aunt, considering the fact that she's a Christian?

Or make everybody just mind him business just like we've been doing over the years? grin

The matter just tire me I swear but it's all good tho..

You sister should let go. Someone needs to break the circle, lets assume you aunt dies without getting your sisters forgiveness, you sister would be repeating the same thing you aunt did 19 years ago.... Break that circle of unforgiveness.

Is lifelong marriage realistic or desirable, or should we rethink the concept of 'till death do us a part'?

Nobody is forcing anyone to stay in marriage. Abi you no hear say Yole Edoche and may no dey together again?

Has anybody been arrested for leaving there marriage? I don't think so.

We have a whole lot of married people who believe it's till death do them part, some happy some not so happy.

We also have a whole lot of people who are divorced as well, some happy and others not so happy.

Summarily there is more to life than marriage.

Instead of addressing local issues, they choose to align with outsiders. The irony is rich. When will these protesters learn that real change comes from within?

Their presence all over northern states is not much of a threat to the president. They're instead destroying their region. For the protest to succeed, they must lay siege on Abuja.
That's the problem we are not always concerned until it goes round. Boko haram started in a small village in Borno fast forward to 15 years later it's a different story.

You surely do not understand politics wait make e cast for the entire Northern states then You go understand why most presidents from other regions always want to be in the good books of the northerners

Romance / Re: What Is Wrong With Getting Married To A Nurse? by lawrenzooo: 1:06pm On Aug 04
Keziehenry:
I learnt that nurses are well respected in a place like US and other developed countries,in those countries many people always dream of becoming or getn married to a nurse one day especially due to d fact that they are well paid.

But here where i stay about 80% of men dislike settling down with a nurse. some say d are promiscuous others that they take all kinds of birth control pills because it is @ their disposal which may impair their chances of giving birth in future. I want to knw your view on this.
Their work environment provide a thriving space for infidelity and exposes them to a lot of temptations. Before you go fit get chance sleep with your fellow teacher for school e go hard but you see nurses on night duty.... God help me. But again it's an individual thing we still have nurses who are chaste.

I have never seen a region been spoonfed with government handouts like the Muslim North. That's why they start complaining and threatening to revolt against the government whenever stipends stop coming.

In other words, if these handouts continue for the next one week or a fortnight, none of them will bother protesting again 🙂🙂🙂

The said rice was given to all the 36 state. At least as far as new is concerned Borno is probably the first to share it own to the masses. news that filtered concerning Kogi was that of the rice been re bagged and sold.

In as much as this 10k per yam in the north sounds exaggerating, i have seen 6k own.

Before APC came into power when I was in Minna the Niger state capital, I do buy 5pcs (set) of yam for #300-#800 max.

When I was in Abuja 2017, my sister told me she bought a tuber for #700 and I said she wanted to do me 419. I never imagined a tuber of yam would get to 1k let alone above 5k. All thanks to APC.
It's not exaggeration. The last I bought here in Sokoto last month before I stopped buying was 7k.
