Politics / Re: Kano Assembly Rejects Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bills by lawrenzooo: 10:21am On Dec 03
simpleseyi:
The State Assemblies under the grip of the evil State Governors rejected the Local Government Autonomy, but the god of Politics and Strategy showed them whom the boss is, he pulled the rug under their feet and set free the Local Governments. So the god of Politics and Strategy Emilokan Asiwaju Jagaban does not need their support to pass the Tax Bills. Whether you like it or not, he will sign the Bills into LAW. He sent it to the National Assembly just to give you something to discuss, he doesn’t need anybody’s approval.

He could sign a Presidential Order and make the Laws without the National Assembly
Could you enlighten us more on what this tax bill is really about.

Most boarding schools here are like that... Most parents wouldn't even know what they're feeding the kids

quite unfortunate. I remember me and my mum always having launch when she visits me in the dinning hall. When its 2pm she would always say oya lets go to the dinning. I would go to the hostel, get my plate and we go enter dinner hall and we eat together . She would always tease me saying with this type of food, she no suppose dey bring me provision for house because the food was quite ok.

Food / Re: Hardship: This Is Akara 200, Yam 200, Potatoes 200 And Buns 200 In Kaduna by lawrenzooo: 5:20pm On Nov 02
Ngasky:

How is the VAT generated now? It seems you know nothing about tax matters but you want to comment. All VAT generated from all the 774 local governments are always remitted through the headquarters of any company. Now most of the headquarters are located in Lagos alone. So in essence all taxes are from Lagos irrespective of transaction location.
Check your bank account tax remittance it is never from the branch you are operating it is always from The headquarters of your bank. So in essence the consumption/service is only Lagos.
If the government can break every company/ service sector into individual states the issue will not even arise. But realistically it is virtually impossible to do VAT remittance state by state as the resources the company will need will be very huge.
Many people only remember alcohol vice in their thinking. But funny enough the northern leaders are clamouring for the same thing let the remittance be at the location of the transaction or services. So alcohol will not be part of their revenue as they don't have any transaction on that so nil vat
Well Alcohol is actually still consumed in the North. Only not as it's done down south.

He could have done a cleaner better job, that's the point. Dragging Falz and Falana was unnecessary.

The way it stands now

Outcome 1: Future Nigerians might be reluctant to speak out against corruption in the future for fear of being shutdown.

Outcome 2: Future Nigerians might be too eager to speak against corruption to the point where they throw accusations without proper evidence, which would 'ironically' hurt lots of innocent and upright people in the country.

Outcome 3: Future Nigerians would learn how to speak out against corruption in a way that does long term good for the society.

Outcome 3, .is what people like you are trying so hard to fight.
Oga leave long English. are the allegations true? If yes Bobrisky should be punished and everyone involved should go in for it. If the allegations are false VDM should be punished.

Family / Re: What Is The Right Gift To Gift To My Intending In-laws? by lawrenzooo: 9:46am On Sep 06
Kickkick:
So I'm trying to take the bold step as a man who has come of age and want to do the needful.

First, I want to create familiarity with my fiancee's family especially the mother and father. I already know the sisters and some cousins.

So what little gift do you suggest I should buy and gift to them via my fiancee, pending when to unveil myself properly?

I'll appreciate your kind suggestions.
A gift pervert judgement. The best way is to familiarize yourself with them first. At least they should know you first. Not everyone would accept a gift from a stranger.

Any parastatal hausas and fulani dominate is gone for good. Check the army, customs, immigration, agric. It is same pattern. Whatever favours them personally is the right thing to do and that what becomes the law or norm. See how they use sharia today.
The banking and financial sector can still survive because they don't dominate that. Education and health are alive not because of govt funding but reasonable southerners bring a their token of commonsensical judgement and public work wthics to those sectors.
Are they also in charge of CBN?

Thanks for your advice… I can see the red flag as regards controlling me and also taking my stand at the same time am also trying to consider the condition of my Fiance… can you believe they want insist that they will the one to give us the wedding date when we went to for introduction? They got angry when my parent said they will get back to them.

See Parents would always be parent. They feel you are at their mercy because their daughter is pregnant already which is not the dream of any parent. Deep down they are pained she's pregnant out of wedlock. So in you dealings with them be considerate

If you are not comfortable with a court wedding tell them say you no dey do(I personally do not see anything wrong in that anyways). Its a beautiful thing to actually marry the one carrying your seed if you both see a future together also make your Fiance understand that there is no law compelling you to marry(don't be surprise that your Fiance is actually the one putting her people up to that act) her. If sacrifices can't be made and nobody is ready to see things from the other perspective just put a hold on the wedding plans and support her to have you child until when you both can resolve issues...

I feel like we owe it to ourselves to change the narrative that Nigerians are scammers because we are amongst the most intelligent people on earth, the first black tech billionaire in the world is Nigerian.

I know you're just catching cruise, but let's assume you are serious here. I would advice that the time you'll invest into sitting in front of your laptop or pressing your phone can be invested into getting a tech skill. In the long run, it's better to be expecting sure >= $2000 every month legitimately than an uncertain $10k made from illegitimate means. Whatever rocks your boat though.
Are you earning $2000 every month?
