FamilyWhen You Have a Child Who Steals by layi(op): 9:15am On Sep 07, 2005
Your Child; A kleptomaniac

You have a child who steals. You've talked to him/her several times about the consequences of pilfering. You try your best to provide his needs (and wants). But He keeps 'doing it'. He's become a kleptomaniac.
How do you help(stop) such a child?

RomanceThe One You Love or the One Who Loves You? by layi(op): 9:06am On Sep 07, 2005
Love Tangle: You need a long term relationship which could probably lead to marriage but you are faced with two choices:

* You love girl/guy A so much but she/he doesn't have same feelings for you.

* Girl/guy B loves u dearly but u don't have the same feelings for him/her.

Which will u go all out for, the one you love or the one who loves u ?
Why?

CrimeRe: Police Raid Oluwole, the Document Forgery Capital by layi(m): 12:32pm On Sep 06, 2005
Ehindero heard he was beign impersonated. He tracked it down to oluwole and decided to arrest them all. This is stupid! There is no sincerity of purpose. They made the arrests cos d nefarious activaties(in oluwole) touch their skin as well. If not, no one would have cared.

Methinks, they only succeded in "relocating" oluwole.

BusinessRe: 'Hot-Cake' Business Opportunities in Nigeria by layi(m): 11:41am On Sep 06, 2005
Some structures are needed before some IT-biz dreams could be acheived in nigeria. Poverty&Internet illiteracy reigns supreme.
b2c websites may not pay in the nearest future. But i see hope for b2b sites. Offer free stuffs, use viral marketing and get a large database/mailing list. Use your mailing list (backend) for Adverts and you could make millions.

I believe anywebmaster with about 500,000 emaillist or at least 5000 daily traffic (homebased nigerians) would make lots of money from the big companies (Adverts/endorsements from MTN, Cocacola etc).

Apart from IT biz. The power sector does not look redeemable at the moment. Capitalize on this shortfall and get people hook on your alternative. heres what i mean. Make Fans, pressing iron etc that run on batteries only and you could make millions.

Nairaland GeneralRe: New Nairaland Features to Attract Your Friends? by layi(m): 11:08am On Sep 06, 2005
@Emortal
I guess Seun bought the solution (not 100% sure though) but thats not the issue here.
Emortal:
.... so unorganized, bad color choices, everything just compressed into one page,......
The site is organized and the color choice is good(not shouting). As for compressing into 1 page. That sounds ridiculos but if you're talkin bout the hompage. Yahoo does same. Get to yahoo's home page and u have so many links representin all yahoo subsidiaries.

As long as it serves its purpose and we all keep coming back. None of us has got sight problems so far. The end justifies the means.
In Today's world of webdesignin, you design websites from the point of clients-need not from an aesthetic standpoint. Keep it simple. wink

What we need however are features to be added. Any Ideas?
Nairaland GeneralRe: Are Some Nairaland Rules Too Strict? by layi(m): 10:55am On Sep 06, 2005
I wish we could add some pidgin or local dialect in our posts.
I wish the punctuation rules are reviewed.
I wish we could use short forms of words e.g da , U
I wish we could use slangs e.g wazup

I said these because i wish Nairaland wont become a (strictly)business forum.
