In February 2015, Yoruba movie actress Eniola Badmus acquired a white Honda Jeep, adding it to her other cars which are all from the Honda brand which she says she loves.

Shortly after she bought the cars, there were rumors that the car was bought for her as a gift from a man friend.

The actress while speaking to Encomium debunked the rumours that the SUV was bought for her by a man. Talking about her jeep, Eniola confirmed that she bought a car saying, “Yes, it’s true. I just acquired a new Honda Pilot jeep, 2014 model. I thank God for that. I just love Honda Pilot and I prefer white. It’s my favourite colour. I always feel comfortable when cruising around with Honda Pilot. It has everything that makes me comfortable.”

When asked if the vehicle is a gift from a lover, she retorted, “Gift? That’s rubbish. No man bought my jeep for me. You’re aware I have another Honda Pilot, 2012 model. I just decided to acquire a new one. That’s why I bought it. No man can ask me for the key. It’s acquired out of my hard work. I do both English and Yoruba movies. Today Asaba, tomorrow Enugu. I think people should know that my hard work must be blessed. I am above the level of living on the mercies of men. I can beat my chest that all I had achieved so far, including my latest ride, are fruits of my labour. I bless God for being on my side all day and night.”

P. Diddy is reported to have beaten up Drake so badly that the latter had to check himself into hospital after their fight last night outside a Miami club.

You'll agree with me that it hasn't been a good week for Drake. First he was called out by much younger friend, Chris Brown, 23, for dating ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran while Chris was in prison, read here. And now he is beaten up by a man more than 10 years older than him. Drake is 28 while P. Diddy is 40.

The two had both been at the club for DJ Khaled's birthday party, the scuffle began when P. Diddy claimed Drake had been using music without the proper rights.

After the altercation, Diddy was said to have reentered the club, while Drake left.

According to a report by Daily News the fight occurred around 4 a.m., and stemmed from nasty comments Drake had made to the mogul's girlfriend, singer Cassie.

Mailonline reports that Ray LeMoine, Editor of Bullet Magazine had been at the event earlier and received multiple text messages following the altercation.

'Drake definitely got the s**t kicked out of him. I heard they were taking him to the hospital.'

In the last 6 months, musical Taliban, Oritsefemi and D’banj seem to have become best of friends. Oritsefemi featured D’banj on the remix for his hit single — Doubla Wahala; and D’banj was even spotted with Oritsefemi when he was awarded a new Range Rover by Avatar.

Their new found friendship has begun to start rumours that the ‘Double Wahala’ crooner might possibly be preparing to join D’banj-led DB records.

Oritsefemi who recently survived a robbery attack in Lagos, disclosed that if D’banj gives him an offer, he will join DB records.

Oritsefemi said: –

‘You know D’banj is close to a lot of agencies and corporate bodies and he’s been the one introducing me to them, even though most of them know my songs but I’m not really close to them and from next year, I’ll be signing a couple of deals and D’banj has told me a lot about them. So my relationship with D’banj is an achievement for me, and trust me something big is coming which I won’t disclose now,’ he said.

When asked if he’s signing a record deal with D’banj’s DB records, he replied: ‘If possible. When I say if possible, it means we’ve been working together without even signing a contract, so that’s what’s up.’
With his remarkable success in 2014, Oritsefemi floated his own record label, MSN (Money Stops Nonsense) Gang and just recently signed a management deal with Avatar Entertainment.

In an interview with Encomium magazine this week, singer Emma Nyra explained why she likes to show off her cleavage.

Excerpt below:

“It’s not that I flaunt them but part of your selling point as a female artist is your body, your voice, your look, your hair, everything. Chidinma’s lack of hair is her selling point, you understand. Each part of you is your selling point”

Asked why she flashes the boobs even though they are not big, Emma responded;

“Its confidence, you understand. Somebody like Toolz for example, her selling point is her body. Before her voice, it’s her body. As a woman, her own packaging is always different. I have grown up to be comfortable with the way the skin is because I have accepted the fact that I can’t change it, I have to accept the way I am. Men don’t look at me, the women look at women. If I go out with or without makeup, a man will not notice. But if I go out and I see a woman, she will say Emma Nyra you are looking different from how I see you on TV. She would comment on everything to my eyebrow but a man won’t look that deep unless he is into fashion and everything. I have learnt to accept myself. If you are not confident about yourself, people won’t buy your brand” she said

On her opinion on bleaching, Emma said;

“I grew up with white people and I noticed that white people tan. They wanted to look like me whereas I wanted to look like them while growing up because I wanted to belong. This bleaching thing, Indians do it too, even Americans do it too. Its been so bad lately because the society’s perception of beauty has to do with it. The lighter the better, whereas, in Europe, the darker the better. Dark hair, dark skin, its a kind of class. That’s how they do their own class system. Our own is just, we have grown up watching aunties bleach. When I fist came to Nigeria, I went to a store and I couldn’t find a regular cream, all I saw was whitening. I went to Dubai, the same thing. Indians and Arabs, they bleach. I am more concerned with clear skin, not light or dark or whatever because I grew up seeing girls wanting to be dark. So it didn’t affect me that way. I don’t support bleaching, I don’t think it’s right. Some people wear padded bra, some where padded bum. As a woman, you can choose whatever you want. You can change your nose, your breast, anything. But as for bleaching, because of the long term effect, I don’t think it’s good for you”

There’s only one Ebola patient left in Nigeria. This was announced earlier today by the Minister of Health, Dr. Onyebuchi Chukwu at press conference.

The virus was first brought to Nigeria by a Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, almost 6 weeks ago. Since that time, a total of fourteen other people were infected, five people have died, including Sawyer, while seven have recovered fully. According to the Minister, two of the nurses who had primary contact with Mr. Sawyer were discharged from the isolation centre in Lagos yesterday, 25 August, 2014.

During the period as well, a total of 129 people were placed under surveillance, and all of them have finished the 21 day gestation period of the virus, without any incident. Of that number, only one showed any symptoms of the disease, and is still under observation.

“As of today, Nigeria has 13 cases of Ebola virus disease. That is including the index case- the late Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer,” Chukwu said. “Five did not survive, however two more Nigerian patients have been discharged. Both of them health workers, were discharged yesterday. This brings the number of those discharged now to seven. As I speak to you Nigeria has only one case of Ebola virus. This is thus far an indication that Nigeria has contained the virus.”

The minister however warned that though the virus has been effectively contained, that Ebola has not yet been eliminated.

Charting the spread

The first Ebola case in Nigeria was an imported case of a Liberian-American, Patrick Sawyer, who travelled by air from Liberia and became violently ill upon arriving in Lagos. Sawyer died five days later, on 25 July.

In a rare show of cooperation among the different tiers of government, Lagos and the Federal government placed all the people who had primary contact with Sawyer under observation for signs of infection, and at the same time increased surveillance at all entry points to the country; health officials were placed at entry points to conduct tests on people arriving in the country.

On 6 August, Justina Ejelonu, a nurse who had treated Sawyer, then campaigned to have an experimental drug, died of the disease. On 9 August, the Nigerian National Health Research Ethics Committee, the organization regulating research ethics in the country, issued a statement waiving the regular administrative requirements that limit the international shipment of any biological samples out of Nigeria. The statement also supported the use of non-validated treatments without prior review and approval by a health research ethics committee.

On 19 August, Dr. Jide Idris, the Lagos state commissioner of health announced that Nigeria had seen twelve confirmed cases. By that time, four were dead (including Sawyer) while another five, including two doctors and a nurse, had been declared disease-free and discharged from hospital. On on the same day as Dr. Idris’s announcement, the doctor who treated Sawyer, Ameyo Adadevoh, and who had prevented him from leaving the hospital at the time of diagnosis, thereby playing a key role in curbing the spread of the virus in Nigeria also died of Ebola disease.

For those who may not know, carrying fake designer bags is illegal in the Eurpoean countries hosting designers like Chanel, Hermes, LV and other high end bag makers.

In Spain and France, it is actually constitutional to confiscate bags suspected to be fake or counterfeit on the streets. However, most bags are taken from users at airports when passing through customs.

A BellaNaija reader who has asked to be referred to as ‘FOB’ went through the following at the Geneva Airport. I think the treatment she received was unfair, if not racist. Read on....

I arrived Geneva from London at about 11:00am on British Airways Flight No. 726 on August 9th to pick my kids who had been in camp in Switzerland for 3 weeks from the airport.

After going through immigration with no issues, I was walking through the nothing to declare section when I was called aside by a gentleman for questioning. At this point, he didn’t introduce himself as a customs official.

He asked to search my bag which I handed over to him with my passport and at this point the first question he asked me was “where did you get your bag from? The streets?”

The question completely shocked me as I felt it was a very derogatory and personal question to be asked considering he didn’t find any drugs on me.

I responded by asking him why would I buy my bag from the streets and asked what the relevance of where I bought my bag from was. I also stated to him that I bought my bag from a Chanel shop in Dubai in December 2013 while on holiday and also informed him that my certificate was in the bag as proof of authenticity.

At this point, he asked me to empty out the content of my bag onto the table and he was taking the bag in. This was a very humiliating and demoralizing situation and experience for me. All my personal effects on the table like I was a criminal!

He took the bag in to the office and came back after 10minutes and told me categorically, that ” for them, as far as they are concerned my bag was a fake and they were seizing it”.

I asked him if he called Chanel to confirm the number on the certificate to them and he said he doesn’t have to because he knows the bag is a fake! At this point, I noticed another black lady was stopped and called aside on the same issue!

I then asked him why it was only 2 black women who were stopped out of all the 100s of travelers that arrived that morning and I told him he was been racist and why it was only our bags that were seized. To which he responded he can stop whoever he wants. For the whole 50minutes I was kept back with customs which delayed my pick up time for my children, not one single Caucasian was stopped and questioned! I stated to him again that this is exactly the case that happened to Oprah Winfrey when she came to Switzerland.

I asked him if it was because I am black that I wont be able to afford a Chanel bag. I further asked to speak with his supervisor. When the supervisor came out, I told him that I have my statement of account on my email which further proves my bag was bought from the shop. The supervisor was willing to consider this but the custom official who had been questioning me said “he doesn’t care about the invoice and he is not interested in seeing the invoice because as far as he is concerned, the bag is a fake”.

This last point further proved to me that he was definitely been racist towards as the statement of account would have been concrete proof to support my initial position.

Even when I kept telling him that my children were waiting for me at the airport and I was meant to pick them up at 11:30am, he didn’t show any sign of empathy! At this point, I was and I am completely traumatized as I have never experienced racism on such a blatant level.

When I realized that my children would be worried and concerned about not been picked up, I asked him for proof of documentation which would show that my bag was in their possession so I could pick my kids and not miss my flight back to London. It was only at that point that he mentioned that a form would be given to me and the bag would be sent to Chanel for authentication and then sent back to me.

I asked for a complaint form which he didn’t give me. I found it strange that what he gave me was a postal address to write a letter to.

I also asked for his name and again he refused to give his name. As a government official carrying out what should be due process, I was shocked that he refused to give his name.

By the time I was done with them and rushed off to pick my kids, I was in tears at been treated so shabbily just because I am black! My kids saw me in tears and when I told them what happened they were in tears and shock.

I intend to not only sue, but also share my experience via all available media options open as this is a very unjust and unfair treatment of black people.

I have been unable to have a restful night rest since Friday 8th as I keep replaying the event in my mind. I would not have expected such treatment from a country that I thought was enlightened in this century.

This situation is completely WRONG and I would be most grateful if this article could be shared to the millions of your fans all over the world as it is important that we call out this sort of situation.

At this point, I would like to remain anonymous but if this would give the article credibility, I would rather use my initials FOB as we are in discussions with a lawyer already.

New hit the internet that the parents of the school girls abducted in the Chibok area of Borno, as well as leaders of the community got a cash gift of N100 million from President Jonathan after their visit to the Villa.
Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the Nigerian President on Media and Publicity said that the allegation is completely untrue despite parents of the girls admitting to BBC that they received money.

“The meeting was held in the villa, a public place. After the meeting, the President left and the parents as well as the children went into their buses in the presence of the media.

There was no time after the meeting when envelopes were distributed or money was given.

This issue is not about money. We are talking about human lives here.

The allegation is completely wild. What they are claiming is unknown to the President. Whoever is claiming it should prove it because no such thing happened.

Your experience in the entertainment industry so far?
It has been quite an adventure ,because everything I have done in the industry are things I never thought I could do. And it’s quite interesting and the adventure is real. I have been working hard, doing what I know how to do best. It’s not about you getting to a particular destination but it’s along the way, so I feel satisfied with everything I have done so far

How do you cope, working with different artistes?
Every field you want to get into actually has its challenges. It has issues only you can deal with. So I won t say there are issues, nothing is ever an issue. Winning a beauty pageant was not easy as well, so being in the entertainment industry has challenges and I will say it is not easy but it has been good

You have been silent for quite some time now, what actually happened?
It wasn’t too long, and nothing actually happened, I just decided to take a break. It’s not everytime you have to release songs, you have to take time out in between. If you continue doing songs all the time, before you know it, you will crash and it is happening to a lot of people right now without them even knowing it. So I had to take some time away to study people, the environment, and the music industry to know those that love and hate me. So that’s what I did. I took a step back and it wasn’t too long and I also used the time to work on my tracks and work on myself as well. So that is why I decided to keep quiet.

So now that you are back, what are you up to?
Yeah, I have been doing music; I am working on bringing out my new album, and I am shooting a lot of videos of my new track.

There has been controversies about artistes management and as one of the artistes who has been in the music industry for a while, what can you say about artistes management?
Your management has a lot of roles to play in recreating your career. If you are signed with a body that is not quite good for the image you are trying to portray, and they really don’t know who you are and how they can train you to fit in with the image they are creating of you, there may be problem. Another thing is, never make a decision when you are desperate because that is a mistake most of us make.

Because we want to make music so much, we want to be out there, we want to be known, and we want to be like 2face, Psquare and D’banj, you now go and sign fifteen years deal, ten years or five years, without really knowing if the management has what it takes to promote you or not. If you sign with a wrong management, you may end up ruining your career.

Why did you decide to go into rap ?

Rap is something I have always wanted to do but I kept asking myself how I could make it work. So, I have to work on myself and I was able to do it well. And its been fun and amazing .

Who are hard to work with in the industry?
To me everybody is cool to work with. It’s just that women are tough to work with. I don’t know why we are like that, working with the men is easier because they know what they want but with the females, it is different. It only works well when you are friends.

If an upcoming artiste who is not popular, at all, wants to feature you in his or her song, will you accept it?
I don’t have any problem being featured on anybody’s track at all. That is, if I see that you have a good track and you want a good job done, I will do it.

Why is your record called No Koncience ?
Because if you want to make it in life, you need no conscience and if you have conscience you won’t do anything. But I don’t mean you have to be bad, I mean you have to be able to live your life. If you are too afraid to grab life, it will be hard for you and you will be nowhere to be found. So if you know what is good for you, live life to the fullest because no one knows tomorrow

Renowned Nigerian comedian Bright Okpocha aka Basketmouth will grace the stage at a World famous comedy festival in Canada.

He will become the first Nigerian comedian to perform at the annual seven day ‘Just for Laughs’ comedy festival. The event is scheduled to kick off on Sunday, July 20 – Sunday, July 27, 2014 in Montreal.
Basketmouth, who will make his festival debut at various clubs during the week said: ‘I am extremely humbled by the opportunity and I intend to give it more than my best shot and the best of me; it is certainly a dream come true.’

In a statement, Channel Director, Comedy Central Africa Van der Veer said: ‘African comedy has the potential to be one of the African continent’s most powerful cultural exports and we are very proud to have John, Mpho and Basketmouth representing Comedy Central in Canada. We are delighted to facilitate their presence at ‘Just For Laughs’ one of the world’s most important international comedy events.’

Seyi Shay and Tiwa Savage have been making good music and thrilling Nigerians since each of them got back from U.S where they had a relatively successful career each.

Seyi and Tiwa used to be compared to each other for their similarities but its becoming more vivid that both are distinctly different from each other in music and style. Seyi Shay speaking with PunchNG said;

“I think people can see the difference between us now. The reason I don’t
see Tiwa as a rival is because I know who I am. I know that I’m very much a fun-loving person. I’m still the woman of the world that many people know. I really don’t care about the things that are not going to affect me in a positive way. If it’s not going to affect me in a positive way, I don’t focus on it or think about it.

“The difference is that I am deeper into the ragga stuff thanshe is. She portrays herself as somebody that is a cautious RnB artist, which she is. But I see myself as a commercial and carefree spirit. I don’t know her to that extent, so I can’t really speak about her. But I feel that Murda is my vibe and her vibe is her vibe.”
