Laple0541: Now that the NANS had backed out of the strike, seems it’s only the brewery fraudster and his zombie supporters will remain for the strike.
Anyway, they have the right to strike, but I will advise they do it in the East this time around since the last one (#Endsars) was in the West. if they witness one-quarter of the level of destruction experienced in Lagos the last time, they will know what’s up! When it eventually dawn's on you that Lagos is the melting point of Nigeria, you will stop this silly talk. |

Either through restructuring, rigging, the six year single term we are hearing about. Except things turn around to be good and better in Nigeria Nothing good can happen under BAT because he actually wants to strangle the country to death and kill most Nigerians through hunger. |

Faber: Dangote don see shege... and that's very good... Let all man feel the heat from the Emi Lokan misrule The good aspect of it is that BAT is gathering powerful enemies and at this rate, the chances that he will return in 2027 keep reducing as powerful and wealthly forces coalesce with the masses to work against him. That bodes well for the common man because BAT is the worst thing to befall this country since independence. |

Tealcrestmedia: All of these increments here and there will further drive up inflation.
Why not focus on tackling the key things affecting the larger percentage of the population, things like cost of power, availability of electricity, refine your crude so you drive down cost of fuels, run an efficient government, build up institutions to global standards so as to reduce pressure on our FX, etc. All of these things will normalize cost of living and doing business which will ultimately reduce the need for all these palliatives and incentives which are largely unsustainable.
Smh Oga, believe me, these things are a pittance and a drop in the ocean compared to what is siphoned off corruptly so dont worry, it will cause no inflation beyond what we are witnessing already. Dont be like them who only remember inflation when it comes to benefits for the poor. |
Politics › Re: Four Reasons You Should Not Join The Nationwide Protest by LDaVinci: 7:39pm On Jul 25, 2024 |
Wisdomkosi: OPINION : Four Reasons You Should Think Before Joining The Nationwide Protest
By Wisdom Nwedene
Ahead of the planned nationwide protest scheduled to kick off on August 1st, 2024, I strongly believe that Nigerian Youth should think twice before joining the protest.
Though, there are genuine reasons for the protest but I have four strong reasons which made me to believe that this protest is not in the best interest of the country at the moment.
Below are my reasons
1. The organisers Of The Protest Are Faceless Individuals : It's crystal clear that those organising this protest are not known till now. I recommend that this type of protest should have leaders that should be calling the shots in case things go wrong. In a protest where everyone is a leader, many things can happen. The organisers should be at the forefront, leading the protesters and controlling the crowd so that things won't go wrong.
2. Thugs Can Hijack The Protest: It's very difficult to organise a peaceful protest in a country battling with bandits, criminals, hoodlums and expect things to go fine.
3. It's Still Early To Judge Tinubu’s Government : I still believe that it's too early to judge Tinubu’s Administration by leading this type of heavy protest against him. Despite that his policies are too harsh, Tinubu still needs time to address issues and bad policies of previous administrations.
4 All of us can still remember what happened during the EndSARS protest. Many lives were lost and property worth billions of Naira destroyed. How sure are we that this Nationwide won't degenerate to what happened during EndSARS protest? I think we should think twice. We can't afford to lose more lives and our national assets destroyed again just like what is happening in Kenya.

mohims: We already know some of their sponsors. Please kindly go to your state and protest against your state government. Why travel to Lagos to cause problem? Nigeria no be Kenya. You mofos will learn the hard way if you try to unleash mayhem or cause trouble in Lagos. The government will use every force available at it's disposal. RIP in advance to the idiots that will embark on this protest. Una go collect wotowoto. Fuel subsidy was not removed by any state govt. Naira was not floated by any state govt. CyrusVI: Time to decongest Lagos and a stronger reason for those time travellers to head down south
No need to travel 10,000 miles to develop other people's Empire while saying "No functional port is close to us" as an excuse
Calabar has a strong potential too...A former capital with a functional port
Under Tinubu, it can only get better generally for us all. This port should be used as frequently as the one in Lagos The notion that Calabar was once the capital of Nigeria is a myth. |

Beautifulday: Those who think twice about life have never mattered. Life one deadly opportunity. If you miss it. You are done.
Tinubu would have been nothing without NADECO protest.
People talk about dying as if it is a big deal. Anybody can die anytime. People commit suicide everyday.
The big question is.
What did you do with your life before you die?
Living 10000 year begging and being oppressed is not living.
It is better to die for something than to live for nothing. Word! |

Oro is used in warding off evil away from the land. We all saw the evil destruction that came with endsars.
The protest (now revolt) has been hijacked and named Days of rage, meaning days of violence and uncontrollable anger. We do not want that on our lands. Oh gawd. Nigeria and counter protests in favor of the government. Nowhere else in the world. |

For the record though, I am not living in Nigeria. Does this count for anything? Of course it counts for everything. That settles it. If you were living here, and paying your bills here, you will understand. To summarize it though, the prices of virtually every single commodity has jumped by more than 100 per cent since last year - in many cases, by 200 - 300 per cent. |

Return the price of petrol and electricity to where you found them when you resumed. And peg the naira. Return School fees to where you met them.

Gerrard59: Well, I don't live in Lagos and I don't frequent clubs. But I have had Nairalanders write that our men can spend close to 10 million naira while clubbing. Our young women take beautiful and slutty pictures in upscale restaurants. In other states notably Edo, in the capital Benin, people write that clubs are still filled. What about Abuja and Kano? Extravagant weddings and parties are held every weekend. In Imo, hotels are still constructed. No be ghosts dey patronise them na.
Nigerians are not suffering. I am yet to be convinced. My dear brother, take it from one addicted to fine dining and touring the finest bars and clubs regularly. I cannot speak for elsewhere, but Lagos, particularly the Island, has become a ghost town compared to last year. |
