Family / Re: Olubunmi Kama: My Husband’s Siblings Seized Our Properties After His Death by LebenNG: 7:00pm On Jul 12, 2021
Adakintroy:
I use to pity some of all this widows until I figure what some families figure. That is they are in it for money them self.

If you struggle with any man, the family know and you earn respect. But not when in a communual Africa, the mother sell her gold and wrapper and the brothers borrow him money to pay rent at some point and a distant uncle paid his 200level school fees. Then you the woman emerge half way to claim everything. No way!

communual it came communual it will return. If she has a child she will be Cartered for and seizable portion given to her. But to say the family should not get anything is unAfrican like.
what we are facing now... my uncle married this woman in her advanced age of 40,she claiming born again and all that, now they have a thirteen year old girl as an only child... she kept claiming our family is a witch eating her unborn children.

In any vigil, she is always mic-happy to say all sort of degrading things about her husband's family of which the family keeps mute and not disturb her.

While my Uncle was growing up, all his siblings including my own mum really contributed to his life positively...even helped pay his fees, feeding and secured him a good job. He married this woman when he was almost level 14 in Government job. But this same woman goes around telling people how she and her busband suffer to feed and go around begging for crumbs. meanwhile this same man had houses around town. Fast forward to recently. He got terribly sick and the wife kept hiding him from relatives and refused picking calls... he died and she never informed anybody till one of my cousins noticed and told family, the day he died, this woman assembled all her people and turned the house upside down in search of documents and even hired a big van to pack some household stiff away, who prays for such daughter in law? .

My uncle died recently no mourning at all from her she is now fighting for properties... For you to know how brutal the woman can be? the day my uncle died he sneakingly gave a family member all the documents even the wedding certificate everything, the woman has no access to anything as she is, she does not have the slightest idea of anything....a man shud draw up a will no matter age or anything meanwhile he is yoruba and married to south south.

Politics / Re: Lauretta Onochie: I’m Being Attacked Because I Follow Due Process by LebenNG: 3:19pm On Jul 10, 2021
rlcanon:

Health Minister, Kwaku Agyemang Manu has told Parliament that a total of 3.1 million Ghanaians, representing 10% of the country’s 31 million population have mental disorders.

According to him, it is established that 41% of Ghanaians have psychological distress, which is either mild, moderate, or severe, and this costs the nation about 7% GDP loss.

Responding to a question on the floor of Parliament filed by MP for Sege, Christian Corletey Otuteye on plans by the Health Ministry to address the plight of persons with mental health problems, the Minister said “the Mental Health Authority did a rapid assessment, a mini census, of persons with severe mental illness on the streets a few years ago and they got 16,000 people on the streets in our cities, towns, and villages all over the country”.

“Mr. Speaker, persons with mental health problems in the country are in four (4) categories: Those on the street, those at the treatment facilities, which include psychiatric hospitals and general health facilities; those in the traditional and faith healing centers; and those in their houses and organizations who do not recognize their mental illness or who recognize but are not doing anything about it.”

“World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 10% of the population of Ghana have one form of mental disorder or the other. Thus, with our estimated 31 million population in Ghana, we have an estimated 3.1 million with mental disorders.

Giving more details, the Minister said, the Ministry and various institutions, including the Mental Health Authority, the Ghana Health Service, and others, have the human resources to deal with the problem.

“What we are doing now is to spread mental health service nationwide, integrate it into general health care such that wherever we treat malaria, mental illness can be treated. This will help with access to care,” Mr. Agyeman Manu said.

The MP for Dormaa Central told Parliament that as part of efforts to address the plight of mentally ill persons, the government through its Agenda 111, will build two new psychiatric hospitals in the northern and middle belts.

According to him, the locations of these hospitals have been identified and drawings made. He explained that government is in the pipeline to get contractors for the project.

“Until recently, psychiatric medication was not readily available. These medications are now available through budgetary allocations and donor support. We have trained more psychiatrists, from 10 psychiatrists not long ago to 45 at the moment” the Health Minister added.

Concluding his remarks, Mr. Agyeman Manu appealed for more funds so the project can be speedily implemented.

“What is left now, is with your support to find more money. The Ministry is working on how to establish a Mental Health Levy, which will hopefully solve most of the financial challenges. An increase in budgetary allocation will enable patients on the streets to be taken in small numbers at a time for treatment and sent back to their communities”.

Respect other tribes and they will also embrace you voluntarily. Igbos cannot smell the presidential seat unless they build allegiance with other tribes... Education / Re: Malta: A Choice Destination For Cheaper Studies. by LebenNG: 8:04am On Jul 08, 2021
EduChoice:
Study in Malta

An island nation in the Mediterranean Sea, Malta has a long history dating back to around 5900 BC. In the past, Malta has been an important naval base, due to its location. The majority of the colleges and universities are located around Valletta. Institutions offer a wide variety of courses, so any international student will find something of interest!

Why Study in Malta?

Malta is one of the sunniest nations in the world, and benefits from over 300 days of sunshine a year. Partner this with the fact that you can explore all of the three islands of malta due to their size, and you have a perfect environment for a wonderful higher education experience. A member of the European Union since 2004, the country enjoys close ties with other European countries.

There are both public and private institutions in Malta, some offer traditional courses, and others are specialist and offer courses such as tourism. Some of the most prestigious universities are the University of Malta, Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST). The university system is similar to that of other European countries, as is the academic year.

About Malta

Officially the Republic of Malta, Malta is a Southern European archipelago, consisting of three islands. Malta is one of the worlds smallest and most densely populated countries, home to over 475,000 people. Human inhabitation of Malta began with settlers from the island of Sicily. In 1798, the French took over the Maltese islands, but were removed by the British two years later. Soon after this, the Maltese requested to become a British colony in 1814, with conditions laid out in a Declaration of Rights. Malta then became independent in 1964, and initially retained Queen Elizabeth II as their ruler, before electing a President in 1974. Malta declared themselves a neutral and non-aligned state in 1979. Malta has many tourist attractions and historical monuments, including nine UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Cost of Studying and Living in Malta-
Malta uses the Euro (€) as its currency.

Your tuition fees will depend on where you are from, what course you choose to study and what institution you choose. If you are a student from within the EU/EEA, you will not pay tuition fees for full-time bachelor degree courses. If you are an EU/EEA student and wish to study a postgraduate degree, you will pay the same tuition fee as maltese students. If you are from any other country, you will be required to pay tuition fees. On average, you should expect your fees to be between €1,000 and €6,000 per year.

Living expenses in Malta are similar to other European countries. If you choose to live in a bigger city then you will have higher costs than smaller cities and towns. On average, you should budget for between €500 and €1,000 per month. This accounts for accommodation, groceries and travel.

Another cost that you will need to consider is health insurance. If you are an EHIC card holder, you will be able to access the same healthcare as Maltese citizens, at the same price. If you are not an EHIC card holder, you will need health insurance. If you already have an insurance policy, you need to ensure that it will be valid in Malta. If you do not have insurance, you will need to purchase a policy that is valid for the duration of your studies.

Visas
Depending on where you are from, you might need a visa to study in Malta. If you are from an EU/EEA country, you will need to obtain a visa if your studies are longer than three months. After you have arrived and registered at your institution, you will need to also apply for a residence document. If you are from any other country, you will need to obtain a visa no matter the duration of your stay, as well as an e-residence document. The application for a visa can be done at the Maltese embassy or consulate in your home country.

Language
Malta has three official languages; Maltese, Maltese Sign Language and English. Another common language you will hear is Italian, which is spoken and understood by 66% of the population.

Courses in Malta are offered in either Maltese or English, but institutions such as the University of Malta offer courses only in English. If you choose to study in a non-native language, you may have to provide evidence of your language proficiency. If you do not meet the required standards, it common for your university to offer language courses to help you improve.

Even if you study in English, you should still make an effort to learn as much Maltese or Italian as possible. Communicating with the locals and other students is a perfect way to practice. Not only will this make your everyday life more enjoyable, it is also a skill that looks great on your CV/resume!

If you see a mannequin and immoral thoughts run through your mind, the solution isn't to put the mannequins away but to subject the individual to a mental evaluation.

If you understand how family unit is run In Anambra state then you will know that man just wrote something on his own.

You don't come to another man's family to disown him.

If the news has said his kinsmen or community men then there might be some validity.

But one man claiming Igbokwe's family is just a nuisance like joe himself.

He has no power to disown joe. Such doesn't exist..
