Religion / The Meaning And Origin Of Falling Under The Anointing by Legacyforever18: 8:38am On Sep 27, 2022
Being slain in the Spirit is a Pentecostal practice whereby a person falls backward after a minister touches him or her on the forehead. In many Pentecostal churches, falling under the anointing is a session of the service that members eagerly await.
It usually comes after the minister’s sermon. People come forward to be delivered from their life problems. The minister or pastor would then touch them of the fore head and they would fall backward. They would stay in a cataleptic state on the ground for a time ranging from one minute to one hour and sometimes more.

Popular Pentecostal ministers are all involved into this practice. The minister’s power is measured by whether people fall backward and writhe on the ground at his touch.
It is noteworthy at this point to say that Maria woodworth-Etter might have been the first Holiness/Pentecostal minister to exhibit the slaying in the spirit phenomenon. Roberts Liardon in his book “God’s General” says on page 48-49, under the paragraph titled, “Angels came into my room,” that angels came into Maria’s room and took her West, over prairies, lakes, forests and rivers where she saw a long, wide field oh waving golden grain. As the view unfolded, she began to preach and saw the grains begin to fall like sheaves. Then Jesus told that, “Just as the grain fell, so people would fall” as she preached.
Later, Roberts recounted, as Maria stood in front of a crowd in her own community, not knowing what to say, she opened her mouth and the people began to weep and fall to the ground. It is my humble opinion that the practice of falling under the anointing or being slain in the spirit as it is popularly known began as a result of the vision Maria Woodworth-Etter had. The practice started with her as her ministry would later become known for people falling in trances that lasted for over two hours. She herself went into a trance while preaching and stood in a single spot for three days.
Ministers after her began experiencing the same manifestations in their ministries. And these have lasted .....

Religion / Ten Reasons Why You Should Not Pay Tithes by Legacyforever18: 12:43pm On Jan 02, 2022
MEANING OF TITHES

The word tithes comes from the Hebrew word MA’ASER which means a tenth of the whole. That means if you have ten sticks, one would be the tithe. If you have a hundred sticks, ten would be the tithes.
The majority of Christians today practice the tithe which they rightly equate as being ten percent of their gross income. But a careful look into the scriptures reveals that the Israelites whom Christians today are striving to emulate did not practice tithing the way it is done today.
Tithing for the Israelites was 23.3% of their gross income. You may wonder how it came to be that percentage when payment of ten percent only is what is emphasized by today’s church.
THREE TYPES OF TITHES
The Jews in scriptures practice three types of tithes. Yes, you heard me right. There were three types of tithes that the Jews practiced. When you added all the three together, it amounted to a total of 23.3%.
Levitical Tithes: Numbers 18:21-24, Malachi 3. The Levitical tithes was meant or the Levites. It was their portion since God had not assigned them any portions in the distribution of the land. They were given the work of the tabernacle. They were to be ministers on behalf of God to the people. They were to teach the people God’s law. In short, they were the ministers of God’s constitution to Israel which is His Torah. They were civil servants running the government of Israel. Hence, the ten percent of the Levitical tithe served as their salaries.
The Festival Tithes: Deut 14:26-27. This tithe which was also ten percent was meant to fund Israel national festivals of national days as instructed by God. There were three festivals in Israel during which all males were required to appear before the Lord in Jerusalem. This tithe was used to fund the celebrations. The individual Israelite will take this tithe to Jerusalem and use it to buy food and drink and celebrate with others before the Lord.
The Poor or Welfare Tithes: Deut 14:28. This type of tithes was used to take care of the orphans, the widows, the strangers and the downtrodden. The welfare tithe was paid once every three years. Calculations would show that if it were to be paid yearly, it would amount to approximately 3.33%.
If we add all the tithes above, we would see that under the dispensation of Israel, the worshipper ended up paying 23.33% of his gross income as tithes to the Lord, which was no mean feat. Worship wasn’t cheap. It was expensive to worship under the law of Moses.
A lot of people talk about tithing. But very few are those who know what they are talking about. A lot of ministers in the country have come out to curse believers who don’t pay tithes. A particular minister has actually said that those who don’t tithe won’t go to heaven. I couldn’t understand where he got that from.
Having defined tithes and given the three types of tithes, let me go ahead and give you the ten reasons why I feel nobody should ever tithe. These reasons aren’t exhaustive in anyway.
#1. ONLY THE LEVITES CAN RECEIVE THE TITHES
Only Levites were authorized by God in scriptures to receive tithes. Not even all Jews could receive the tithes. Only the appointed Levites had the power to receive the tithes. Our Lord Jesus himself couldn’t receive the tithes as he wasn’t a Levite. Even Old Testament prophets like Isaiah, Elijah, Elisha, Daniel and many others weren’t qualified to receive the tithes of the people. Even the powerful Pharisees couldn’t receive tithes. They had to humble themselves and bring their tithes to their fiercest enemies, the Sadducees, who belonged to the priestly tribe of Levy which qualified them to collect tithes.
As far as we know, the tribe of Levy was lost after General Titus sacked Jerusalem and scattered the Jews in A.D. 70. Till today they haven’t been found. When the State of Israel was founded in 1948 upon the return of the supposed Jews, the genealogy of the Levites couldn’t be found. So, there was no way for them to identify the Levites among them if there were any. Hence, the Jews themselves who still live under the laws of Moses don’t practice tithing anymore. For if they wanted, there would be no Levites to receive the tithe from them as mandated in the law.
This means that if you are to pay your tithes, you must first find a Levite who will receive it from you. People say that their pastor is the Levite. We know it isn’t true. Levy is not your pastor’s ancestor. If another Jew cannot assume a Levite’s identity, why should your pastor who isn’t even a Jew? Payment of tithes to someone who isn’t a Levite is an act of disobedience to the Lord as He clearly mandated in his word that only the Levites could receive the tithes.
#2. TITHE WAS TAXATION TO THE JEWS:
If you are paying taxes to the government, you are tithing already. Tithe was taxation to the Jews. The Levites ran the government and they were supported financially by the tithes the people brought. Today we pay taxes on salaries and all the purchases we make (VAT). All these monies go into supporting the government whose duty it to run the country. The Levitical tithes took care of the civil servants Levites, the festival tithes took care of national holidays and the poor tithes took care of welfare needs.
#3. TITHING IS NOT TEN PERCENT:
Tithing over a period of one year amounted to 23.33% of the worshiper’s gross income or revenue. If you are paying ten percent, you are robbing God of the remaining 13.33%. You are not practicing Biblical tithing. The real Biblical tithing is 20% every year and 3.33% every three years.
#4. THE TITHE WAS KEPT IN STOREHOUSES:
There are no storehouses available today as in ancient Israel. God ordained special storehouses where his tithes would be stored. That’s why the prophet said,
“Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:10
Storehouses were special stores that were built in towns throughout Israel. They were special stores attached to the temple of God. God ordered them built for the purposes of storing tithe that was meant majorly for the poor
Now, your church building is not the Biblical storehouse. We do not have storehouses today. Hence, where would the tithe be kept since there is not temple? Muslims took over Jerusalem and built a mosque where the temple stood.
#5. THERE IS NO PHYSICAL HIGH PRIEST:
When the Levites received the tithe, they would take 10% of it and pay it to the high priest. The Bible calls it tithe of tithes. Numbers 18:26, Nehemiah 10:38. There is no high priest today to receive the tithe of tithes from the priest. No pastor alive today is qualified to receive whether the tithe or the tithe of tithes. The high priest had to be a descendant of Aaron. If you can show me a descendant of Aaron, then he would be qualified as high priest. Your pastor is neither a priest nor a Levite. The practice today is that; the members tithe to the pastor and the pastor tithe to the general overseer. Your general overseer is not a high priest of God after the order of Aaron. Your church is not the temple. The tithe of tithes was taken to and presented to the high priest in the temple in Jerusalem. And the temple isn’t the headquarters of your church. And as such, you have no business given them tithes.

#6. GENTILES DIDN’T TITHE, ONLY THE JEWS DID:
God has never mandated gentiles to tithe. It was the Jewish people God commanded tithing to. As a gentile man, I have no business with tithing. And neither do you if you are also a gentile. Non-Jewish people have no business with tithing. Even the Jews themselves don’t tithe today because of a combination of circumstances which I have mentioned above. And if the people to whom the command was given cannot practice it, how can we who were never asked to do such in the first place?
#7. TITHE WAS FARM PRODUCE:
Tithe was farm produce and not money. Some people think that they paid tithes using farm products because money didn’t exist. Disabuse yourselves. Money existed a long time before the Israelites were even enslaved in Egypt. Abraham bought the plot where he buried Sarah using money. Genesis 23 That means if you were a carpenter, a teacher, a scholar or anything other than a farmer who grew animals and crops, you were not expected to tithes. Check the Pharisees. They didn’t tithe money. They tithed leaves from their gardens.
All those who tithe today, do so using money. That too is a violation of God’s law. If you’d practice Biblical tithing you would bring farm products. That is if you’re a farmer. But if you aren’t a farmer, you wouldn’t be required to bring a thing. But people today are only skin deep. They do not study to show themselves approved. Hence they swallow anything thrown at them, line, hook and sinker.
#8. OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST HIMSELF DIDN’T TITHE:
Jesus is our example, role model and all. Our calling is to be filled with the knowledge of him so that we become like him is every way. But is the area of tithing, many Christians including church leaders are not interested in being like him. As a priest in the order of Melchisedek, he was expected to collect tithes, but he didn’t. He didn’t ask his disciples to tithe either. The only time he spoke about tithing was when he rebuked the Pharisees for their hypocrisy. They would tithe all the leaves in their gardens but neglect more important virtues like mercy, faith and Justice. Luke 11:42, Matthew 23:23.
Our Lord Jesus did not pay tithes, he didn’t receive tithes and he didn’t teach tithing. Do you know why? He wasn’t expected to pay tithe as a carpenter. He wasn’t qualified to collect tithe since he was not a descendant of Aaron. And finally he didn’t teach it because his church would be in all nations. All the believers in the commonwealth of Israel lived within a single nation or were members of that nation. Hence their tithes went into the building and running of that nation. The tithes they paid like taxes went into the building and running of the nation of Israel. Now, the church exists in all nations are its members are subjects to these sovereign nations. Citizens of the nation already had taxation as a means whereby they contributed to the building and running of their country. Adding tithes to an already existing system of taxation would be what economists call double taxation.
If the Lord whom you claim to follow didn’t tithe, why should you?
#9. THE APOSTLES DIDN’T TITHE:
Just like their master, the apostles including Paul ad Barnabas did not practice tithing. They didn’t pay tithes. They didn’t receive tithes. If they had collected tithes that would have been a queue for others after them they didn’t teach tithing. Most of the apostles were not...

It is highly possible he was sick. Since when do 40 years old die in their sleep. The dying in his sleep is just an attempt to make his dead look spiritual and acceptable to their cronies. Many Pentecostal pastors usually lie about their state of health because it goes against their faith and healing beliefs and practices to acknowledge that they have health issues.
Religion / If Eternal Security Is True, Why Are There Scriptures Passages That Warn Believe by Legacyforever18: 5:00pm On Oct 22, 2020
The question presumes that the Bible should
be void of commands for the believers to live lives of holiness and obedience to the Lord. It also assumes that since warnings for the believers to depart from iniquity abound in scriptures, the consequence for falling into sin should be a loss of one’s salvation.
But nothing could be further from the truth. All these warnings are not there to so that if we don’t heed to them we would lose our salvation. Salvation is not ours to gain or lose in the first place. Salvation belongs to God. (Revelation 7:10) It is his to give and to take as the case may be. It is a gift of God. (Ephesians 2:cool It is not a salary. You work for a pay. You don’t work for a gift. If salvation is a gift, then it can’t be dependent on what we do. If it depended on what we do, it wouldn’t be a gift.

God doesn’t want the believers to live a careless or carefree life. He doesn’t want them to be conformed to the present age. He wants them to flee the corruption that exists in the world through lust. He desires that we watch over ourselves lest we fall. God warns, exhorts and admonishes the believers not because we would loose our salvation if we fall into sin. His admonitions are so that we don’t fall into sin. God doesn’t want his people to live like the people of the world. God made the believers a kingdom of priests and kings so that we could show forth his praise. God wants his light to shine so that the world would see our good works and glorify our father in heaven.

The believers obey Gods commands, warnings and admonitions because they are his sons. They have been given the Holy Spirit that convinces them of sin, righteousness and judgment. The Spirit leads them on the paths of righteousness for his name sake. The believers are dead to sin and can no longer live in it. The believers obey God’s commands because they are afraid of losing their salvation. They obey because they are his holiness. We take heed to God’s word not because God will take our salvation if we don’t. Christians don’t condone the works of darkness. They oppose and expose them. The sin nature has been taken away from them so that they do not delight in evil.

One becomes a believer by faith and not by works. Hence to suggest that being saved rests on one being able to behave in a certain way and not the other simply means that salvation in the end is not dependent on the work of Christ but on our own deeds. Such a theory means that Christ is the beginner of the faith with the believer as the finisher. But we know that this is not what scriptures teach. The scriptures tell us that Jesus is the author and the finisher of our faith. He doesn’t begin and leaves it for us to complete.

A lot of people assume that salvation is like someone drowning and you throw him a life buoy and he does the rest. Salvation is not man drowning and God throws him a life vest and leaves the rest to him. No way! Salvation is resurrection from the dead. We were dead in trespasses and sin. God, in Christ, raises us up and sits us in him in heavenly places.

Religion / Prayers That God Doesn't Answer by Legacyforever18: 11:20pm On Jul 21, 2020
This topic is certain to raise eye brows. Prayers that God doesn’t answer!? This goes against everything that is being taught today, at least in the majority of church meetings. Everyone is taught that God always answers prayers. In some circles, He answers by fire and even by thunder. It doesn’t really matter how outrageous the request may be, God will answer it. But the question is; does God answer all prayers?
The answer is a capital NO.
If God answered all prayers, the world will be a different place certainly. Some people take Luke 11:9 out context and use it to teach that God will give you anything you ask.
“Ask and it will be given to you . . .” (Luke 11:9, N.I.V)
It’s tempting (and lucrative, for some preachers) to treat this nugget of Scripture as an ironclad promise.
Whatever you ask for — promotion, wealth, the spouse of your dreams — God will give it to you. Unless, of course, Luke 11:9 is part of a larger narrative in which Jesus has already told us what to ask for. After a brief episode in which he defends Mary over her sister Martha for choosing what matters most — being a disciple, a citizen of his kingdom — Jesus’ followers ask him how to pray. Jesus tells them to ask for things like daily bread, the advent of his kingdom, forgiveness for sin. Only then does he say, “Ask and it will be given to you.”
It’s not, “Ask for anything you want.” It’s more like, “Ask for my kingdom, and you will have it.” 1 John 5:14 says that if we ask anything according to his will, we know that he hears. And if we know that he hears us, we know that he would answer us. This means that the will of God must always be at the center of our asking. Luke 11:9 and other similarly taken out of context passages may seem to suggest that God gives believers the freedom to ask anything. But in reality, it isn’t so. Just as a good father wouldn’t give his child anything he wants, God would also not give the believer whatsoever he demands. He only gives what agrees with his will.
When God appeared to Solomon and told him to ask whatever he wanted and it would be given to him, it looked like a blank cheque. But really, it wasn’t one. Had Solomon asked for anything selfish, he would have been rebuked by God. But Solomon was wise. He made his request according to the will of God. And for that, he was recommended. The wise child of God today would understand that it is only what God has already decided to give him that he can request in his prayers. Because if we agree on something here on earth that God hasn’t agreed on in heaven, we would not be answered. With this, let us look at some prayers that God doesn’t answer.

1. OH GOD! KILL MY ENEMIES.
In almost all churches today, Christians believe that God can be a hired killer for them. They teach that God is ever ready to put a bullet in the head of whoever they have identified as their enemy. Well, God doesn’t use a machine gun to blow the heads of the targets assigned to him. He uses the Holy Ghost fire. I am not the one bringing this up. The practice can be seen during prayer sessions in churches. Songs such as; ‘Holy fire consumed them’ and chants of ‘Die! Die! Die!’, are common feature. Books and songs have been written; conferences are organized and entire ministries have been built around the idea that God will kill anyone you spotlight as your enemy.
But does the scripture teach that God would kill our enemies today?
There is no indication in the Bible that God will kill anyone on our behalf. What about David who prayed to God to kill his enemies? You may ask. Or what of the Israelites who had God’s assistance in killing their enemies? The answer to both questions is pretty simple. The fact that God apparently killed their enemies doesn’t mean that he will kill ours today.
The thing is; we are neither David nor the children of Israel. We live in different times and dispensations. David was a king. He was a politician in today’s term. And he had a lot of enemies. He inherited the throne after Saul’s death. And Saul’s family members still resented him. As God’s chosen King he could ask that the Lord who chose him to be King should deal with the enemy on his behalf. It wasn’t a selfish prayer as we see in many quarters today. Opposing David’s leadership was equivalent to opposing God himself. It was opposing the historical purpose of God who planned to bring the Christ through David and subsequently install him on the throne of Israel and use him to bring salvation to the world. The throne of David was not negotiable. God would deal with anyone who tried to thwart his purpose by attacking David. Hence he prayed that God would take care of his enemies. That’s not the case with us today. Besides, his life and prophecies foreshadowed the life of Christ. So it is not everything in the imprecatory psalms that was a direct reference to David’s personal life. Most of the imprecatory psalms were prophecies of the life and ministry of Christ. They cast those who will oppose him and highlighted their punishment. David was a type of the Messiah. Those who oppose Christ both during his earthly ministry leading to his resurrection would be punished by God at the end of days. As we can see, David played a very important role in salvation history. His whole life became intertwined and almost indistinguishable with God’s plan of salvation.
The same thing can be said of Israel as a nation. They were a theocracy. A theocracy is a government under God. They were God’s own country. God used Israel as a platform to develop his salvation plan which culminated with the coming of Christ. As such God personally fought their enemies or lent them a helping hand as they case was in Bible days.
The believers living today cannot lay claim to the experiences of David and Israel. Salvation history was being developed through the lives of such people. Anyone God killed in the Bible represented an obstacle to the development of his plan of salvation. God is not going to kill anyone as an answer to someone else’s prayer today. His salvation plan has been completed. The mission of God’s people on the earth is to share the good news of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ. When John and James wanted to call fire from heaven on a town’s people for refusing to have Jesus come into their town, the Lord rebuked them and said they didn’t know what they were doing.
I don’t think there would be a more appropriate way of describing people who actually expect God to kill someone because they asked. They don’t know what they are doing.

Religion / 5g, Corona Virus, God And The Devil. by Legacyforever18: 12:01pm On May 26, 2020
There's been a lot going on with the connection between the corona virus pandemic and 5G. 5G infrastructure have been vandalized the world over because people believed they were the cause of the virus afflicting them. The Christian world has not rested on its head either. It believes 5G is from the devil and is being used by the Antichrist to bring about the one world government.
What can I say about all these things?
May be it has bad effects on people and the environment. But is it the only thing man has made that has had negative effects on human beings?
Even governments meant to serve people always end up killing people. The medicine we take to make us well can also make us sick and even kill us.
There is virtually nothing in this that can't bring harm. Even love sends people to the grave.
So, if 5G kills, it is not the first time.
As for the connect between the Covid-19 and 5G, there isn't any apart from the fact that 5G is being used in advanced countries to fight the virus. But to think that it caused Covid-19 is preposterous.
The origin of the Covid-19 will be ascertained in due time by scientific expert.
God commanded man to till the earth and subjugate it. And man has been doing that since then, creating everything from houses to cities, clothing, different types of food, technology and amenities as he tries to make life for himself on the earth. And we are better than all peoples in history thanks to man obeying God's command to have dominion over the world. Some people think having dominion is about farming. Yeah, but farming is not just about getting food alone but all sorts of consumables from the earth, water and space. Having dominion and subjugating the earth has to do with man harnessing the power and resource God has put in the creation for the benefit of man as well take care of the creation.
5G is just the latest of man harnessing the earth as God commanded him to.
4G connected people together through their computers, phones and other devices. 5G which faster by far will not only connect people to people, it will connect things together. That means the computer, washing machines, security camera, air conditioner and the rest will be able to communicate with your phone, kitchen appliances, house and car to make life even easier. And Things would do all this without people's input. People won't even need a phone to connect to people and things in their lives. It is like the things in you life will know you and what you want and make sure you're satisfied without you having to talk or budge a muscle. Like Jarvis sensing Tony Stark might not survive the trip into the portal as he tried to divert the nuclear missile, offered to call Pepper Pots. In case you don't know who Jarvis is. Jarvis is presently the AI that runs Tony Stark's house and Ironman armour.
IOT is like your everything in your knows your routine, business, health and activities and coordinate together without your input on a daily basis to bring you satisfaction. And 5G is going to power that. Biblical, there's nothing wrong with it because it is just man trying to make life better on earth. For the negative effects, we must come to term that man must not plan to do something bad before things get bad. There is sin in the world. It contaminates people and the way they think and so things so that ever a drug meant to help ends up hurting instead. 5G has negatives just like every other thing that man touches in this world.
As for the devil being behind 5G and it being a tool that will bring the Antichrist and one world government, the devil didn't need 5G to take over the world system in the first place. He didn't 5G to tempt Adam, Jesus, Peter and doesn't need it to tempt people today. Satan has a connection through which he has access to people at anytime. It is not 5G. I call it the SIN connection. And the Antichrist is Satan's boy. Hence he won't need 5G.
Let's hope solutions are found to the negatives of 5G so that its effects on nature are reduced to the barest minimum.
Till then, let people learn to keep quiet and stop this devil complex of blaming Satan for things they don't understand well.

MOST MISINTERPRETED BIBLE VERSES #3
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

What happens when we treat the Bible as a random collection of freestanding verses? Well, for one thing, as Tyndale House Publishers editor Keith Williams told Christianity Today, “Philippians 4:13 is going to refer to an athletic performance rather than perseverance through need.” For some, “I can do all things” means scoring touchdowns and clearing the bases.
To a pastor I once sat under, it meant driving a car without any prior learning or instructions. He told us how he was asked whether he could drive. He replied, “I can do all things through Christ who gave me strength.” With that, he got on the wheel and drove the car.
Many students I have tutored over the years have told me that they can pass WAEC through Christ that gives them strength. Some have even gone a long way to tell me how God in fulfillment of Philippians 4:13 gave them answers to exam questions the day before or even right in the exam hall. I can tell you about a myriad of things that Christians profess to be able to do while invoking Philippians 4:13. They can get rich, get married, pass exams, succeed in business, raise children and get their women pregnant; all of that through Christ.
The question is: what was Apostle Paul really discussing before he arrived to the verse under consideration?

CONTEXT
If we truly want to know what a Bible verse or passage means, we have to read it in context. We can’t strip away all the surrounding verses, remove it from its original intent, and still expect to understand it.
Just before Paul says, “I can do all things through Him who gives me strength,” he recounts some of the different circumstances he’s found himself in: he’s been hungry and well-fed, he’s been in need and he’s been well off, and he’s learned to be content, no matter what his circumstances are.
Paul isn’t juxtaposing these circumstances to suggest that one is better than the other. He’s using these extremes to highlight that he understands the range of human experience, and that he understands the challenges that come with each position. He isn’t a rich person telling a poor person to be happy with what they have (or vise versa), and he’s not sitting there on a full stomach telling hungry people to get over it.
He’s saying that no matter what your circumstances are, you can learn to be content. How does he know? Because he’s tested it, and he’s proved it. How does he do it? That’s where verse 13 comes in.
If you read the NIV translation of verse 13, you’ll notice an important distinction from most other translations: “I can do all this through Him who gives me strength” (emphasis added).

When we read “this” instead of “things,” it’s a lot more clear that the passage is referring to specific things—all the things Paul has been talking about—not “all things” in the sense that we can do anything.
In context, "I can do all things" is the ministry that God has sent Paul to do. He can persevere, share the gospel, and be content in any situation. Not on his own, but through Christ who strengthens him.
WHAT PAUL DOESN’T MEAN
This verse is so misused because many Christians interpret “all things” as “anything,” not “all the things Paul has talked about.” It’s not a blanket endorsement that God will support anything we set out to do and empower us to do whatever impossible things we can imagine. It’s an assurance that we can do whatever God calls us to do, not whatever we decide to do.
This isn’t a biblical exhortation you can stamp on whatever goals you have professionally, personally, or physically. It’s an encouragement that God can give you the strength to be content, no matter what.
Paul was sharing that he’d learned to be content no matter what his circumstances — rich or poor, hungry or well fed, in prison or out. What Paul was saying is not so much “I can achieve anything,” but “I can endure anything” — which, in his case, included prison.
CONCLUSION
It is ironical that people would take a verse that meant something else and use it for the exact opposite. A verse that teaches contentment is used to teach unbridled greed, arrogance, pride and unrestrained ambition. This is a classical example of Bible misinterpretation. Well it is not the first.
Remember, a text taken out of context is a pretext. And a person who misinterprets the scriptures is no different than the person who disbelieves it. In both cases, they have the same end conclusion. They both misuse and abuse the glorious word of God.

Jeremiah 29:11 is one of the most misused promises in the whole Bible!” a teacher of mine once proclaimed. I nodded in agreement when I first heard my teacher say that, but to be honest I couldn’t tell you what he meant.
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope” (Jeremiah 29:11, ESV). What’s wrong with applying that to our lives?

“My People perish for lack of Knowledge.” Hosea 4:6
I have sat in many a church services, conferences and meetings and heard speakers encourage the audience to seek knowledge because without it, they won’t get ahead in life and will definitely be destroyed. They used the above mentioned quote in their attempts to motivate the people to pursue education and knowledge. Is there anything wrong in using the above quote to spur people to seek knowledge? Of course not.

Religion / Worship Postponed Till Further Notice by Legacyforever18: 7:50am On May 01, 2020
This morning I saw a notice online. It had been placed on the door of a church notifying the people that, "There would be no adoration till further notice." I was like what? No adoration till further notice? Well, if you don't know what adoration means, it means worship. No more worship till further notice. It sounds like Worship is a product being sold in that church-shop. They were out of stock and has to place a sign to tell prospective customers that their cherished commodity wasn't available....

Religion / God, The Devil, Covid-19 And 5g by Legacyforever18: 6:34am On May 01, 2020
There's been a lot going on with the connection between the corona virus pandemic and 5G. 5G infrastructure have been vandalized the world over because people believed they were the cause of the virus afflicting them.
