A professional advice on logo design, must of the logo poster are not standard, avoid the use of Shadow as base because the Shadow will interact with the base color making your logo not have a unique color, even a company like ETISALAT is a victim of this, the arc on the logo is transparent, which in turn lead to printing problem in matching there color

it is ok but just try and use colours that are attractive and image that are not too big, to prevent it from loading fast, it is nice

ulead photo impact seem to have the best editing and retouching tools but it is not commom, photoshop is also OK but you have to buy various plug-in before you can make the best out of it
