hi, i'm new to this graphics thing, i av ideas but i'm not too good at using the software packages.
i'm interested in learning Flash, photoshop,corel draw, maya. is there anyone who can help me.

It is not an easy task but if you are dedicated like you said, you will get there. Juat visit some forums and learn the basic, and RTFM, lol it is called Read The F**** Manual. Asa beginner, do not concern yourself with so many apps since that will easily confuse you and slow your progress, for instance go for photosho and maya if you are going the 3d route istead of going for Lightwave,3D Max, Softimage XSI and Cinema 4D. Trim down on the apps and you will get there pretty soo, you're gonna need a lot of patience.

Go to Maya and Photoshop forums and do a search on turotials.

I'll try to provide you links to basicconcept tutorials.

You will definitely need hands-on experience via a seminar or class of some sort. Even if you RTFM (I hate this acronym, but I digress ), graphics isn't such that you can capture art in words. It has to be learned, it has to be experienced hands-on.

I know a guy who will be coming there for a seminar some time in the year. Perhaps you could attend the seminar and get to learn from him. I am sending him a link to this post so he is aware that you and perhaps others will need this type of training.

what are the specs of your system. are you sure there is enough space on the drive

its a P3, 256 of ram 40 gig HDD and 1 ghz of speed i should think (Its not here with me its at home in Lagos

This programmes use a lot of memory space (especially Maya) so you might want to get a computer with higher memory, say 80/100 gb. Also you need a good graphic card reader.

I will not advise you to attend any priv8 school/center to learn this program, its all waste of money, best bet is get your money, upgrade your system coz photoshop,maya on a pc needs loads of processing time=memory,then use rest money to buy material to learn it, buy generator and start learning all by your self, i say to you, best way to learn is by trial and error. within months, you wont believe how well you good in the program.

Factually, there are  lots of people out there looking for the best place to start their career in Animation and Motion Graphics, But you'll do better to make sure you get the very best start @ Image Sequence Centre. No deceiving or dull class. You are guaranteed the best of post production work of CG Art.

here are the tricks, try and search for tutorials online and you need to challenge yourself toward your goals, basically learning these programs require much commitment and no joke, seek professional too when you are having challenges.

Secondly, the ultimate is not about knowing how to use all these programs, though it helps you to be versitile but dont be susprise to find urself changing direction from your primary goal, understand the whole game and know/choose your path to stardom. there awesome stuffs you can do with all these programs, and luckly they all have relationship with one another but know your path.

Thirdly, i must advice, if your motive on these skills are for your leisure/fun then you can seek free tutorials and training, but if you intend to be a professional earning with these skills, then my bro, it's no big deal investing on yourself, but know the original

Get a teacher, go to animation schools, buy stuffs, dont rely on free stuffs, they will asist but may not get you there , there is no big deal investing in yourself.

so Bro, make a decision.

if you dont mind and you are serious/commited to become a professional using these programs, i wont mind offering you free fundamental training on all of these programs for 3 weeks. after that you are on your own.

well i can be of assistant, i will train you on autocad, autodesk Maya, ulead photo paint and others, but you must be a serious guy and ready to learn , most 3d graphic i see on this forum are not too ok , they lack details, attation are not paid to little things which are very important in graphic
