Goodyfixed:Hello, in order for it not to be "DEAD", kindly answer the question about the interview questions someone asked you. I think every one can benefit from it. Thanks Try tracking your application with this link: https://formulario-mre.serpro.gov.br/sci/pages/web/ui/#/servicos-estrangeiros Click on check status.... it will show you if it's still under review, that is if you still need it If not and you have received a response, how long did the whole process take from when you sent your original documents? Thanks in advance

We are suffering in this country oo. Passport privilege is REAL. My 2 year old son is a Canadian passport holder. He didn't have to apply for a UK visa with me, my wife and daughter and be queuing for biometrics at VFS. But I found out we still needed for apply for ETA for him, it says it takes 3 working days on their website and could sometimes take longer. I applied today which is a Sunday and i was hoping by end of the week at least we should get a response, only for me to apply and get approved in literally 10 seconds, before i could finish reading the payment successful message and close the tab, the approval email dropped. The worst part is, the approval was automated, nobody had to check the information i even provided. lekefew: |
Apologies, I have a 10 year canada visa, I didn't know know it was the one doing the magic for me. We learn everyday. Thank you giselle237: |
Why do they need a visa to transit through france though? I have had layovers severally in france without it. Also, i know that you will only need a visa if you are transiting through 2 EU countries. E.g Lagos to Amsterdam to paris to london, since both Amsterdam and paris are inside EU coutries, that is when you will need a visa. But as long as you are only crossing 1 EU country, you do not need a visa as far as i know (Also as long as you will not be leaving the airport obviously) Anny4tt: |
VISA GRANTED Just received from GiG, 6 months visa issued for a family of 3, first time applicant Firebox123: |
Please who has contact information for vfs to get a tracking information for passport delivery. All numbers on their website aren't reachable. I haven't heard from GiG since receiving an email from vfs that my passport is now with the courier service 3 days ago. Firebox123: |
Check your spam folder for the one from UKVI, I found mine in spam. Only the vfs one goes to my inbox Davinton: |
Thankful I got a notification from vfs that a decision has been made. No rejection email so I'm hoping the visa has been issued. Biometrics was April 29. Application for a family of 3, myself, wife and daughter, purpose is tourism, no invitation letter, I'm the sponsor. Documents submitted => CAC certificate for my business, status report to show the business is active, operating license because my industry is heavily regulated (telecoms), Mermat from CAC to show I'm a director and majority shareholder, recent invoices from other telecoms companies we work with to show the business is very active, flight booking, hotel reservation, 5 months personal bank statement with a balance of 26M, 150M turnover in those 5 months, landed property document, cover letter explaining the large credits and debits in my statement (I told them the large credits are owner's withdrawal from my business and can come at anytime based on my discretion as the owner of the business). I wrote in my cover letter that I obviously have established myself well in Nigeria as evident in my business which I have provided proof for, and my financial situation, and based on this, it will be against my own interest to go and be living an an illegal immigrant in the UK. My wife also submitted her own bank statement even though I am the one sponsoring the trip, letter from her work place and her pay slip. We also have recent travel history to Canada and UAE and we included the scanned copies of the visa and airport stamps. lekefew: |
@onile1975 The original poster is the one that got their visa approved. I was only asking for other people that had their biometrics on 29th if they have received feedback, because I did mine on 29th. The original poster did theirs on 28th and got a feedback on May 16th, so I was expecting to receive my feedback the following day but I did not. onile1975: |
Is there anybody for April 29 biometrics that has received a feedback yet ? Aurallure: |
Apologies, I read that in a refusal letter in a post just above yours. The circumstances are identical. The gist is still the same Knowlegeseeking: |
You're 100% correct. I've actually seen some refusal letters that just don't make sense. But I still try to see reasons with the ones that make sense and try to understand. About the rental income, yes she mentioned that. I forgot to include that in my post. The ECO stated that there was no evidence to proof that the income came to her. They only submitted receipts from what I read (I'm guessing receipts issued to the tenants), the ECO will try to match that with a proof that shows the money actually came to her, like a bank statement, because otherwise, that money for rent could have gone to any other person or the money was put into another use. I'm not defending the ECO, God knows I've had my own fair share or immigration wahala. Dependants does prove family ties, especially when you're not travelling with your dependants. They see that has, you will definitely come back to them and you're only going away briefly. The fact that you got your visa without dependants does not matter. You got yours based on other merits I'm sure. With visas I find that you don't have to check all their boxes, you only have to check enough boxes to convince them. So for me, I see it like... Landed property check, Rental income unhecked because there's no proof (receipt don't proof she got the money as the ECO said, professional tie unchecked, family ties unchecked due to no dependant, that's a score of 1/4. You don't need 4/4, a 3/4 or maybe even a 2 would have been fine crackcrack: |
I'm no expert by any means but I think the the rejection is simply based on: 1. She has no professional ties to Nigeria or you have not provided evidence that she does. She's retired which is basically same as being unemployed, bottom line, they both mean you currently don't have an income from a job (which will keep you in the country, in other words "Tie" . Yes you submitted her previous payslips and letter of promotion, retirement letter and all that, but that only proves she had a job before, not currently. "Currently" is what they care about and proves professional ties.2. She has no family ties or you have not provided evidence that she does. In the question in the application where you were asked if she has dependants. You chose no, which means she has nobody depending on her presence in Nigeria. Yes she has other children living in Nigeria like you said, but they're no depending on her. So in that regard, she has no "tie" I know you said you uploaded land documents, I'm guessing the ECO just sees is like since she's missing family ties and professional ties, she could easily be moving abroad to stay with her sponsor. The fact that she has a land no longer holds much weight at that point, since it's not going anywhere. This is my own opinion though, I try to think from the ECO's perspective when I look at rejections before concluding that rejection was baseless. Knowlegeseeking: |
Convert it to jpeg, and then convert all the jpeg files back into 1 pdf file. This did the trick for me. https://www.ilovepdf.com/pdf_to_jpg https://www.ilovepdf.com/jpg_to_pdf solid3: |
Ysasa:Thank you |
wifey1:Can someone please share their recent interview experience for a tourist visa. My appointment is on January 15 and I just want to know what to expect |
kushercain:For this, you can try calling the consulate or the AVITS support line first. My own issue was that my passport expired and I had to fill a new DS160 form with a new passport number. |
Steph88:Well I'm no expert, I just gambled too and I got a response the following day. What I would advice is: 1. Download your appointment confirmation again from AVITS and see if the DS160 number has changed, they may have worked on it and probably they just didn't reply the ticket. 2. Try closing the ticket and create a new one, because I'm guessing they just started this, because previously all I've been hearing about DS160 update is to just go to the interview with the new one, even when I called the consulate, that was what I was told on the phone. So maybe they just started attending to update requests via tickets. |
Adejuwon26:Summary -> DS-160 Update Description -> Hello, I would like to update my DS-160 confirmation number on my appointment. Please see attached The important thing is to attach the new DS-160 form
|
sanyaolurilwan:Yes it's stated on the appointment confirmation document, in the instructions. It says if your DS160 and appointment don't match, you will not be allowed to interview, and to make corrections, you only have to create a ticket and upload the new DS160 form, I followed that exactly and I got my new DS160 confirmation number updated on the appointment. My appointment confirmation nows shows my new DS160 confirmation number |
Steph88:Login to AVITS dashboard and go to support on the menu, create a ticket, select Profile Inquires for the topic , fill the form and upload your new DS-160 form in the attachment section and submit. Wait for 24 hours and your confirmation number will be updated on the appointment, you'll get a response on the ticket letting you know it has been updated. I don't know if the weekend will affect the response time. I did mine yesterday and got a response today. I asked this question a week ago and nobody replied. I figured it out and I thought to help someone else |
Cashmadam:Hello, I have a few questions, i was hoping someone will help answer them My wife and daughter have an interview coming up in January. We booked the appointment since 2022 with the old system. At that time, my daughter was just 1 year old so i couldn't get a good passport photograph of her, so i submitted her DS-160 form without a passport photograph, now i'm reading that the form must have a passport photograph, else we will not be allowed to interview and will have to schedule another appointment. For that of my wife, she has a new international passport. The one i used in filling the DS-160 in 2022 has expired. With the old system, i know i could just fill a new form for both of them and update the DS-160 form number on their appointment, but this new system doesn't have a way to do that. I have called the consulate and USVISAAPPT, but i haven't been able to get a good answer. Please advice on what to do Secondly, we will travelling from ibadan to lagos for the interview, we have a 1 year son who isn't having an interview, and i was wondering if we will be allowed to take him into the interview with us. We have nobody to look after him so he has to come along. Has anyone experienced this, will they let us come with him? Sorry for the long post. |
angie88:Congratulations!!! |
Zirconia16:If you have your DS-160 filled and you have paid Go to ustraveldocs.com, select Nigeria and select non-immigrant visa, create an account if you don't have one and then answer the questions about your previous, it will automatically determine that you're for IW and you will get dates for 2023 once it's approved. New applications will get 2025 dates |
Makibarbie:Congratulations!! How many hours layover in Amsterdam ? I'm asking because I'm purposely looking for a layover of about 12 hours in Amsterdam, but I can't seem to find any. The max I've seen is 6 hours. I'm traveling to Canada and i have a Schengen visa, I'd like to get out the Airport for a few hours to see my friend in Amsterdam |
angie88:I sent a webform though. I sent it yesterday, though I didn't get a response but then I got PPR early this morning. Maybe you can try sending webform too. I just wrote in there that I had received my own PPR since, but that of my wife and child were still pending even though we applied together with me being the principal applicant. I guess it worked |
VFS lagos is not so slow via courier. My passport took exactly 9 days to get back to me in ibadan. Maybe I'm just lucky, I know people that have been waiting for weeks |
angie88:Received PPR for my wife and daughter!!! Hope you had the same luck? My daughter's portal initially changed back to "reviewing additional documents" I was so scared cos they had reviewed it before and the status had changed Fortunately, 2 hours later I received an email for both of them and it was PPR |
Biggyman11:This is false |
Got the same for my daughter after it was stuck on reviewing for a while. Are you able to create a tracker account for your kid? I've been unable to create one for my kid, the animation on the register button just spins for a few seconds and stops without displaying any reason for failure. I don't know if it's because the information is not in the system yet or maybe because I left the email address field in her application form blank, so there's no email to send the code to create the account to angie88: |
