Yes o. Dividends and coupons. Very important now. To digress the thread a little, Still expecting money for a coupon payment (FGN bonds July 2023) date of 12th October. Used to be like clockwork. Y the delay? Though 12th was weekend but 2 working days ve passed. emmanuelewumi: |
Thank you Sir for yr inputs. I appreciate emmanuelewumi: |
Brainstorming n planning ahead of my interim UBA dividend. Profit off d table into FGN bonds or buy more shares(Zenith or UBA)? |
6M naira into Zenith shares or into FGN Bonds at 18.085% interest per annum for 3 yrs and reinvesting every coupon payment into Zenith Bank Shares? Or buying UBA shares? Which is the smartest move? Ogas in the house guide me. Especially Oga Emma. Final DD as always is mine and I won't come here one day to say anyone made me lose my money. |
jonnysessy:Lol. Just seeing this. You were with me in 'spirit'. Dividends is good. Especially in this present harsh Tinubu economy. Let's continue to buy dividends paying shares. And also take profits off the table every now and then. |
GTCO interim dividend received. Taking my usual few chilled Trophy bottles every time I received a dividend. Looking forward to Access dividend next. Den d big one UBA. |
No one has been paid 2023 FY FBNH dividend. Payment date was postponed twice. And now no specific date for payment. Fallout of the billionaire fight in FBNH. Sold after the qualification date, So hopeful I should get it when it is paid. RodgersAkpafu: |
Well done UBA. U ve justified my offloading all my 7 digits holding in FBNH @N31.90 to add more units of UBA @ N23.95/24 to tk my UBA holding to over 3M. It was a total swap. One kobo I didn't take out. Will even still chop that meagre 40k 2023 FY FBNH dividend (which I qualified for) whenever they are ready to pay it. Thank God for His grace. God is good. |
Suprised this back and forth is still going on. Where una get all these energy from? Please bury the hatchet and move on. Let's learn to accommodate one another. |
U carry better pepper(money) na. Don't mistake it they love you. Lol. megawealth01: |
Plus or minus 10% cap on prices. Prices can't change more than that during a single trading day on the NSE. designking: |
Contact your stockbrokers if you have the share certificates for those shares. Request for them to help you dematerialize the share certs. It will cost you a monetary charge(Not much. Depends on yr brokers), You fill the forms and summit the share certs(hard copy). When it's done, the shares will reflect in yr CSCS account. Used to take a while back then(2000s). That was the process then. May ve changed now. Consult your stockbrokers to guide you as what currently the process is Millibillion: |
Ginalex:Not really. I'm a long term investor. Have been in the market since 2005. Paid school fees on stocks (Intercontinental, DarComs, etc etc) Just recently factored in dividends as a must. So long term investor investing in shares that pay dividends. And reviewing my positions from time to time. |
U re right. After DangSugar last result, I sold all my DangSugar @ N37 and use all the proceeds to buy additional Zenith Bank @ N34. I even got more shares of Zenith than the shares of DangSugar I had. It was a smart move. Have received interim dividend on the added Zenith shares, Will still receive FY dividends on them. And presently, the shares are even worth more than the DangSugar I sold in market price. I had to make the move to avoid not receiving any dividend on my DangSugar shares for the 2nd year running as likely DangSugar may not pay dividend this year too. Did a similar thing recently by offloading my 7 digits holding in FBNH at N31.90 and bought additional UBA at N23.95/N24 with all the funds. Patiently waiting now for UBA interim dividend. And then UBA FY dividend later which will be better than FBNH FY dividend. My years of being faithfully loyal to any stock is gone. No more emotions. . ositadima1: |
Roarke:Trading online. You are live or realtime in the market. Your orders goes straight to the trading floor. And if filled fully or partially u can see so. Most of my orders are executed instantaneously. Though, I use CSL. You don't need to call or follow up any orders when you re trading online. |
Zenith dividend received. Expected more from Access. Will wait till their FY dividend b4 reviewing my investment. I exited some of my holdings(Oando,DangSugar, FBNH) recently cos of poor results/No dividends. I'm a long term investor but dividends is key now especially in this harsh economy. The streets in Naija is not smiling. Next up is UBA. Can they do at least 80k? Or match Zenith n GTCO's N1? |
I put in a sell order this morning using my trading portal. Checked the status and it says 'awaiting approval'. What does this mean? Do I have to do something as follow up or just wait? |
bovali:Na wao What is going on? We are all here to help each other and make money. Let's bury all these personal stuff. Any info yet about UBA interim dividend? |
Princkez:Really? So no date yet for paying the dividend? Where I come get the 4th Sept from? |
What's the update on fbnh dividend payment date? Was it shifted again? Have today as their PD on my calendar reminder. |
megawealth01:Trap ke? Not really. It's a long term investment. My holding is in 7 digits and it's my 2nd largest holding behind UBA. My average purchase price for FBNH is less than N4. The returns in terms of dividends has been below expectations but at least they are paying dividends. If it gets to those prices u mentioned (which is not likely). I may buy more. |
BabsO2:Ok. Explains it then. Missed your post. Well done Sir |
Raider76:Yes o. We need it to hold so we can get our dividend. I ve penciled it down to offset some of my children' sch fees expenses as schools resume early September. Monitoring it like a hawk. |
megawealth01:Interim ke? Knowing FBNH not likely. Dis is 2023 FY dividend o. Na im dey drag till now. And na just 40k per share dividend. |
Just reviewed an sms from Meristem inviting me to FBNH AGM holding on 3rd Sept. Like FBNH dividend will be slightly delayed. Was expecting it this Friday(24th Aug). |
emmanuelewumi:Na so. Time no dey! Flight of Capital. You must make your capital work for you. U can't lock it down. And keep hoping. |
emmanuelewumi:Thank you Oga Emma for your discussions lately. Hope it opens the eyes of many. I recently offloaded my Daar Comm at 47k after waiting for many years. I can't remember a single communication from them to me not to talk of dividends. Interesting your take on Oando. Sold of all my Oando at N4 plus when I got tired with them despite not buying any of my Oando shares less than N30. The price has appreciated much since then. But nothing much has changed. It is still a gamble. A gambler can hang around waiting for them but it will be a long wait. Recently also offloaded most of my Dang Sugar, after their recent results, and used the funds to buy more Zenith Bank at N34. Maybe I shd ve waited a little for the Sugar but I bought all my shares when the price was below N20. So that money will get me more Zenith Bank interim dividend and Full year dividend. Traders can make money from the likes of Oando n co but not true minority investors. Many in will still cash out at a point. Not easy tying down one's funds for years without returns. Dividends are important to me and I expect to get them from my investments. Just got Afriland dividend and also expecting Afriprudential today. So this is how I roll now as the CEO of my Holdings. I only buy and hold dividend paying shares now and once the results is bad. Sharply I reassess my interest in the company. Everyone shd do their DD and do what's best for them. |
