Happy birthday to oga Seun. Thanks for creating nairaland.
I've made more friends on nairaland than non-nairalanders within one year plus. And I've really benefited immensely from this section especially.
Happy birthday once again to Ferdybaba too. |

I couldn't help but laugh when I read Momodu's point of view on allowing more women in politics because their needs are not as big as that of men and hence that would reduce the level of corruption in government.
Quite an interesting theory although purely based on circular reasoning. I also advocate for women in politics but that should be solely based on merits and void of any sorta nepotism or favouritism.
Back to the matter, I don't think any past or present government has really provided a blue print per say for our Nation. I wouldn't consider the long term and short term agendas as such. These are temporary programs geared at getting us to where we should have been as a Nation.
The people of Nigeria would be ready for a blueprint when they learn to understand or rather get enlightened on the fact that there is a huge difference between a STATE and a NATION. Nigeria is a STATE made up several Nations.
Nation ~ A large body of people united by common descent, history, culture, or language, inhabiting in a particular STATE or Territory. (As defined by Oxford Dictionary)
It is therefore safe to say that certain tribes would automatically fit in this definition, which includes the Yoruba Nation, Hausa Nation and the Igbo Nation.
If as a people we still nurture the thought of going our separate ways then no government would be able to provide any sort of blue print for the Nation. We must all realise that as a people we would continually get the kind and type of leaders we deserve. Nigeria would only be built by Nigerians.
I stumbled on a quote recently can't really remember who said it, but goes thus, paraphrased;
"If people feel they have to engage in bloodshed before they can achieve unity then they have no business being together".
I am looking forward to the day we would fully embrace our diversity and have an Ethos similar to the American dream.
God Bless The Federal Republic Of Nigeria. [/b] MizMyColi, I think this is the best post of this thread |

san316: Some people want to get asset declaration knowing fully well that GEJ never declared his and even said he doesn't give a damn (I'm sure he was under the influence of goskolo then). Now PMB is just 42 days old in office which is not up to 2% of his term and they want to make Nigerians feel they've made a wrong choice. Rabble rousers!!!
The funny part of this is that even if the asset declaration is made public, same. People will scream "it is a lie"!!! "he has fronts!!!" And so on. Remember the 150 cow issue.
I like PMB, the things they say don't move him, he does what he feels is right and ignores their rants. God bless you, bro. |

MarvellousGod: No, their 2014 recruitment tests et al started in June too...
Really, job section has been boring. . Companies are trying to adjust to the current economic crisis.. The last thing on their mind now is additional work force when they're struggling to pay the existing ones. .. It's well..
How u dey? oops, sorry. And I did their test then o Yea, the current situation is not favourable. We all expected something like this to happen this year though... Election, new government, and the never-ending curse of crude oil. Anyways, I still expect some firms to recruit as usual before the year runs out. I'm fine. |

My opinion oh Most GT vacancies open around September till the next year. EY was even quicker this year. They usually start August. |
