denkyw: came accross this thread a year ago when i was still learning newly to playing guitar, i thought the thread was dead then, but am glad am seeing a revival. i now know most of the basic chords like the GCDEm, A &Am chords and can play preferably any song of any progression on this. problem is, am stock on this as i don't know what else or what stage to move next to, cause i dont have a tutor to guide me. initially when i first picked up the guitar, my goal and passion was to be able to play my favourite songs on the guitar. now that have archieved that i feel like its mission accomplished, but it has now become boring and i want to learn something new.(i play mostly strumming) i will appreciate any suggestions on what next i should learn how to do with the guitar. sorry for the long post. jayriginal: That said, do you know your Root 6 and Root 5 chords (for major, minor and dominant 7). If you dont, try and learn them, then also try and familiarize yourself with the caged system.
. I understand the bass part as the root well. But this root 6 and 5 I don't understand. And then what is caged system please? Thanks. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Do Not Lose Your Soul To Worldly Music by Lero15(m): 5:54pm On Oct 07, 2016 |
Jdazzle: Sir, that is actually the right thing to do! Just as the secular songs are bad for the soul I can bet you the movies are far much worse! They appeal to ur subconscious visuals n audio senses which is most dangerous!
It's best to choose what kinda movies u see... but really one can get corrupted without even knowing.... the scenes come back graphic even after hours of watching these movies.... we shouldn't underestimate the power of the mind and how we could be infiltrated with evil thru what we see and hear...
Between there are some good interesting christian movies to watch and learn from...
God help us!!! Nice post. Amen. |

Pidggin: Every spiritually enlightened believer can discern the wisdom in what I posted only someone whose mind satan has blocked cannot see it, smh LOL. Why bring Satan into this. Reason with what I posted rationally. I'm a believer too. Worldly songs not good, fine. But worldly movies are worse. You see them kissing, and portraying sex in movies. I have some secular music but I'm very choosy about them. I have friends who do not have any "worldly ' song on their phone but have all sorts of movies. My argument is if you don't listen to worldly song, then do not watch worldly films. Take care. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Do Not Lose Your Soul To Worldly Music by Lero15(m): 9:45pm On Oct 05, 2016 |
In order to balance the equation, then do not watch worldly films-I'm sure you must have watched game of thrones and the likes. Do not read worldly books, too. |
