talktimi: very good o, work has tied me down in the SS of naija for over a month nowEeya, weldone. I hope you made enough money though. |
9jacrip: You have any contrary opinion, then please share with facts and analysis, thank you.I am not a statistician but I need someone to derive the percentage of yoruba in kwara from these 16 local govts. Asa, Baruten Edu, Ekiti,==>yoruba Ifelodun,==>yoruba Ilorin East. } Ilorin South}==>mixed wth both yorba n fulani Ilorin West } Irepodun,==>yoruba Isin,==> yoruba Kaiama Moro, Offa,==>yoruba Oke Ero==>yoruba Oyun==>yoruba Pategi |
papparatzzi2013: 80% of ilorin people are Yorubas and 80% of kwarans are Yorubas. You can as well guess where their votes will go to.80% of kwara are yoruba? Lol |
django1: The main yoruba groups of SW hardly reckon with other yoruba people outside the south west zone.Isn't it obvious with some posts here, the south western yorubas do not reckon with other yorubas. They claim kwara or ilorin is a yorubaland and yet they can't have the fulanis, nupes borgus and so on in ilorin as part of them even though these people are already yoruba by interaction. |
OAM4J: That majority of Ilorin people embraced Islam has not turned them to Fulani. Emirship has a lot more to do with Islam than with Fulanis. This closes the chapter..everyone has to decide where they wish to stay. |
Olugbenger: Lertee pls stop stalking this thread and posting ur falsehood. Your replies here are the ones least backed up with facts. With the likes of you, there can never be a cool or calm debate..good you didn't make any contribution. You need not get vulgar or insulting to establish a fact..others that countered my point did with dignity. ![]() |
Katsumoto: where did you get this history that the ilorins are descendants of fulanis? is it the afonja or the yorubas from oke Suna that are fulani? and there were has a in ilorin than fulani. I wonder why you are so desperate to establish this fulani ancestry. You may enlighten me more on the yoruba history of ilorin that makes them more “yoruba” You may also wish to enlighten me on afonja, alimi and nda salaty as well. The history of ilorin cannot be written without these three. Lemme see your view on them. |
ninnyanny: This is another LIB exclusive. According to my sources in South Africa, Beverly Osu’s man in the BBA house, South African dancer Angelo Collins is kinda back with his South African girlfriend, Candice Arends. Well, it’s more like he’s trying to woo her back and they’ve been spotted meeting up at different spots in South Africa. It remains to be seen if their reconciliation will be a permanent one. They were not intimate? ![]() |
shymexx: Why should they follow Ilorin? Most of them don't even get along with Ilorin.Lol,you seem to have a problem with the ilorins why? Is it their fault that they r descendants of fulanis or is it kwara's fault that she is one of the banza bakwai? In kwara as a whole,it is only the yoruba speaking parts of kwara south that will be integrated to the west and I tell you they will be the minutest in the west cos the west won't recognise them. Even in kwara, they are minority. |
shymexx: Are you Fulani or Yoruba? Then the disintegrtion will have to be in pieces. Ilorin alone cannot be moved out of kwara cos it is the largest in the state so anywhere ilorin goes, other prts of kwara follows unless they will be separated one by one and this will cause confusion. The yorubas in kogi (aiyetoro, isanlu, iyara, and co will not have it easy as well going to the west, will they migrate to the west with their lands or how would they join the west? The kogi (igala, igbira, ogorimagongo) will never accept west. So there is a confusion already on who moves to where or who stays at where. |
greatdonmikel: Have you ever seen the political map of Nigeria? NO kwara shares boundry with three southwestern states namely: oyo, osun, ekiti,Thanks. No I don't have to see the map ,I have passed through the three out of kwara before.Ilorin was intended for example not kwara. |
seunmsg: Very wrong. Kwara also shares border with Ekiti state.I was meant to use “ilorin” close to oyo as the only western state. I know erin ile is close to osun and ekan meje which is the last town to kwara west shares boundry with ekiti |
ikekings1: Hello sugar! How's the evening going?going very well,and yours? |
ikekings1: Holla derailers!!Hey cutey |
larride: Lertee.....what's upCool and you? |
ladon: I am a Kwaran! This is a issue that I find very disturbing.Where do I belong? My dear it is not only core North that reject Kwara Yorubas in social foras but the core SW Yoruba-We are percieve as people of the frontier. For those agitating for Nigerian breakdown I have strong fear for we the Minority in the North. Hope the big three shall not tear the zone into pieces[http://naijalite..com/2013/10/10-reasons-why-nigeria-should-not-break.ht]WEll,this is the problem. If kwara goes to the north or the west, she will still be a minority but she is better in the north than west. The north still relates with kwara in some ways, the west does not. Moreso Oyo is the only western state close to kwara, she is surrounded by the rest as north. |
Thanks for sharing this. |

Sloan: Worry not about us, why not worry about your people and how they will survive in Nigeria or a new country? What is this nonsense about emirate eating deep? Is that what is going to feed them and give them the basics of human life? I have said before when the time for referendum comes, they will choose where they want to go or be! The Yorubas are already larger than almost every other groups in Nigeria maybe except one. Our lands are one of the largest and most prosperous! In a referendum, they will decide where they want to belong and in the worst case scenario, some parts may go to the emirates while the Yoruba parts become part of a Yoruba country as majority! Today if any Western European country or the North Americas had the opportunity for another country to merge with them, the other country will surely take the opportunity? Why? The opportunities ALONE is enough reason for some of you people to queue up at the embassies in Nigeria to get a visiting visa to America! Now imagine a US/UK opportunity in the greater Yoruba State!? Well the people will decide anyway so save your breath! ![]() |
9jacrip: And when I replied you earlier with this post:It is alright, you got my arguement. So what do you have to saya to that? |
RedBenson: Ok! But let's hear ur own version of special talent(s). Or dont you have it/them?I can cook anything in quote “anything” |
RedBenson: Sincerely hope it does! Btw, do you wish so?If they find it worthy of FP they will put it. |

0monnakoda: Emirs do not rule anyone let us stop this misinformation.Sure, the federal govt or state govt has power over a traditional ruler. The law that binds every citizen binds the traditional ruler too. Afterall the ollofa of offa was dragged to court and he is facing dethronement. We are only talking of history on monarchs and the system since inception before laws started binding them either for or against. |
Goodmorning,happy sunday. ![]() |
tomakint: Katz, you may be right to an extent on your last sentence, but when I was in Ilorin, I got to know that the Emirate thing has gone too deep in politics that it will take a revolution to have an Oba in Ilorin, Lawal tried it but died mysteriously! This is my only arguement, the emirate rule hs eaten deep and it will be too difficult to have an oba(yoruba form of ruling). There r only two ruling houses in ilorin, the abdulqadirs and the gambaris, these are people with fulani descendants. The only house that could claim obaship are the Lawal's family “idi ape”,they have tried it severally and nothing happened. Majority of the emirate indigenes do not support obaship due to islam that has eaten into them and they cannot afford to go through oro and isedale of the yorubas. |
