Pls, I need your help. My phone's been misbehaving for some time now. It just keeps going back to the home screen regardless of whatever it is I'm doing. Then the google app keeps opening on it's own. What could be the problem?

Halliburton Co. has cut 9000 jobs -more than 10% percent of its workforce- in about six months and is considering more cost-cutting moves as falling oil prices sap demand for its drilling help.
Associated Press said on Tuesday that Halliburton executives disclosed the job cuts on Monday on a conference call with investors.
The Houston oilfield services company reported a loss of $643 million in the first quarter.
Oil prices plunged starting last summer, leading to a decline in drilling activity.
Spot prices for crude have risen slightly since early January, but remain about half their level of last July.
That has led to belt-tightening across the industry as oil companies move to curb production, with oil-field services and drilling companies especially hard hit.
Halliburton's oilfield rival Schlumberger Ltd. said last week that it would cut 11,000 jobs on top of 9000 planned job cuts that it announced in January.
Schlumberger and Halliburton help map underground oil and gas reservoirs and drill wells for energy companies.
Halliburton is a leader in hydraulic fracturing, or the process of breaking underground rock formations to allow oil and gas to escape.
Halliburton President Jeff Miller said he wasn't ready to say the worst has passed, but that such slumps usually last about three quarters.
"Once we see activity stabilise, the healing process can begin, but it takes time", he told analysts.
U.S. drilling activity has dropped by half since November, and energy companies are pressing Halliburton to reduce fees.
About two-thirds of Halliburton's revenue comes from North-America, and executives say they expect that revenue to decline from the first quarter to the second.
The oil-market decline caused Halliburton to take $1.2 billion in charges in the first quarter, including severance and write-offs, said the company's chief financial officer, Christian Garcia.

Thanks for re-opening the thread. I hope that's enough warning for those deviating from the topic of the thread.

Have you gone through the 2006 thread? There were lots of deviation going on there(even plenty religious stuff) on a regular basis, yet the thread was never closed. I think these are part of what keeps the thread alive, and foster relationships. In that thread they were like one big family but in this thread, everybody is a stranger.

Honestly, I don't see any reason why peeps should be grateful to someone for giving an info that is already ''in the public domain'' or worse still "vague info". Am I the only one here seeing this?
Well, having said that, I can only remove hairdress for one person here. The person that revealed the accurate number of peeps that passed the first test. The person even went further to break it down into different fields of study. Unfortunately, all these happened before NL was hacked, and noone seems to remember the person's moniker.

Dear, please take it easy with me. I don't brag. I actually had the info a while earlier but decided to let it out because the thread was too quiet. We all know peeps have been doing meds n getting offfers lately. Seems I'm going to join everybody else in this thread and keep every info to myself just like you suggested. At the risk of bursting the OP's bubble, these two questions are actually in GMAT. I can snap the questions and answers to clear all doubts but let me enjoy the spectacle a lil while longer.

nwajay: In addition to the aforementioned by lokodon, NLNG is prepared to accommodate those returning from UK after their study. However there will still be an AC in the UK as long as much as one person makes it to that stage for the following reasons;
1. Not every one will be returning to Nigeria after their study
2. The fact that some of them may possess dual citizenship makes some of them an asset
3. Because NLNG has already committed itself to recruiting from the UK
4. A no brainer, NLNG has the resources to recruit anywhere they feel like.

For those traveling to the UK and other countries for their study, NLNG is also aware some of its candidates will be resuming from the 1st week of September 2014 for the purpose of an advanced study. The things they don't know are;
1. Do the candidates wish to have their AC in the UK
2. Where is the student study domicile (USA, UK, ......) and can he/she make it to the AC in the addresses presented to them

Today is the 30th of September, 2014, for those who may or may not have started thinking of what to do, kindly make the following advances;
1. At this point you may have to inform NLNG of your change of address
2. Just in case, make a return flight ticket money available if you have to return to Nigeria for your AC.

Whatever step you take you can't go wrong, you will only get it wrong if you don't make a MOVE.

Going by the previous thread, during the last general recruitment, 464 people participated in the AC. They were told only 100 people were needed, out of which 10% must be Bonny indigenes. Now, going with the above statistics and also considering the fact that Nlng has dissolved their Lagos branch, I believe the logic proposed earlier that 200 will be chosen from 300, is inherently flawed. If anything, the number is likely going to reduce. 60 maybe?? . I stand to be corrected though.

Baroids psl was the first to call, followed by sperry drilling, drill bits and services, testing and subsea, completions, cementing e.t.c. Baroids took 2, sperry 7, dbs 2, subsea 2( 1 person declined though), completions ongoing e.t.c. Boots n Coots and prod enhanc haven't called. Snaaz, any news on wirelin n perf?

People bragging that they already have a job, that they just applied for applying sake yet they're always on nairaland job section from morning till night looking for job.

Please, you guys shouldn't crucify me yet. I was only concerned that no lady here admitted to getting offer after the widely held belief that Halli were more interested in females. Anyway, cc150615 has clarified that. @veevean1, my apologies. Well, at least I succeeded in bringing life to this thread.

I recall you said you did chat for completions psl. Heard you guys are resuming next month. How come you haven't said anything about it? Also, where are other completions peeps, diddynma, stariobran e.t.c? Or are you guys hoarding info?
