nairalanda1: Because oil revenue has never been enough to fund the budget. And government revenue relies highly on oil revenue. At best we need oil to be above 75 dollars per barrel this year to fund the 2025 budget. It has been below 70 dollars for most of the year.
( Above is also why subsidy of dollar was also stopped. Not enough coming from oil, better get money from elsewhere)
That's why since the 1980s people have been screaming at Nigerian governments to diversify the economy what is the nigerian government doing with money that oil revenue has never been enough to fund the budget? the gentleman you responded to said that that since the "removal" of fuel subsidy, the government has saved N2.4t every month since 2023. that is N28t. what exactly is government doing that makes the money insignificant that it still has to go aborrowing?

As for governor Alia, he's also a big disappointment, he's not even fit to be governor
Too many deaths everyday and nobody is doing anything about it, no Hashtag & no protest anywhere.
My biggest concern is my senior brother that works for NGO in Benue, as director of his organization he drives from one part of Benue to another for different activities every week and I'm so concerned about his safety Why do you expect tinubu to declare state of emergency in Benue? Are the lives of the people there as important as pipeline? Has the deaths of these people threatened the power base of any of his cronies in Benue? Why can't you just align with the vision of tinubu for once? |

obailala: Oh wow! When I wrote that down, I must have misjudged the comprehension capacity of my audience. My sincere apologies please. Allow me to break it down.
When I said a woman of her status needs a man of good financial standing, I was responding to a guy who claimed she wasn't married because she was busy looking for a rich man.
While I was emphasizing the importance of someone in her position marrying a financially independent spouse, what I did not say or even imply was that finances should be the only factor she considers (not sure where you picked that interpretation from, try to read carefully please).
Obviously she has to consider compatibility, character, family background and history, religious alignment, life goals, shared values, physical and emotional attraction and a host of other things.
So @lexy2014, whether the men she has met previously were financially okay or not, while that's important, it certainly isn't the only factor that matters when selecting a spouse. Can you show me where you were asked to "break it down"? obailala: The question you asked seems somewhat irrelevant to the subject at hand are you saying that this your comment is irrelevant to the subject at hand? obailala: A woman of her status doesnt just need 'any' kind of man. obailala: The question you asked seems somewhat irrelevant to the subject at hand so I'm honestly at a loss on how to respond to you. Also, I'm sorry I don't do "yes or no" answers cos I find them too intellectually limiting to be meaningful.
Restating my earlier point for clarity - while financial status is very very important, it clearly isn't the only factor a wise person should be considering when choosing a spouse.
Except there's a deeper message behind your question which I'm missing, do you mind elaborating? are you saying that this your comment is irrelevant to the subject at hand? obailala: A woman of her status doesnt just need 'any' kind of man. The man has to be at a certain independent financial level, else there'd be an imbalance which could rock the foundation of the relationship. all the men she has been meeting, are they paupers? simple yes or no |

DeltaBachelor: I like how you called it allegation. But let me ask you. If this particular family was just an average/ordinary family and not the first family of Akwa-Ibom state, will this accusation/allegation gain as much weight as it does now ?
Will people not tag the said daughter mad or insane after accepting a political appointment despite these said "allegations" ?
Would you expect the father to sue his daughter to court for blackmail ?
Why didn't the daughter go to the police station or court of law to open a case file against her dad on this but rather chose to do a "video" about it. I am not disputing the claims as being true or not. Rather what I am saying is that " who wears the shoe, knows where it pinches him/her the most ". Let's tread with caution as outsiders so that this doesn't cause an irreparable damage to a family that just lost their beloved one.
Thank you that is not what I asked you. when did allegation of murder become a family matter? which individual is having the lasting impact? which politicising are you talking about? is it not the daughter that made the allegation? |
