I'm summary, one thing I've learnt is don't believe everything you see on social media. Pls don't believe everything people say. Some will tell you they have six digit paying job, some will say they are doctors but they want to forfeit that for the love of the military. Don't be swayed by this into joining. Follow your own mind, follow your own passion. |

Prospect048: and what do we stand to gain with this your post? Say the 11 soldiers and dead civilians get family. Mehn. They are people's children and fathers. I pray God heal this land. Why will some people delight in causing chaos and killing others. Anyway, I blame the illiteracy and high unemployment rate in the north as one of the factors strengthening the Boko Haram. Imagine if they are well educated like the south, good standard of living, good social life and good companies, who will decide to go and live in the desert and be killing themselves and others. |

I've always thought the DSSC are for professionals while the SSC are for voluntary infantries. Now with what people have been saying here, it seems there's no difference between the two again and the difference is just on paper. |

Sometimes when I read my own comments and other people's comments, I feel the unwillingness but the desire, it seems as if we don't wish to go into the force but there's a force within us pushing us to join. The truth is even during my NYSC days, I worked as red Cross member and as an OBS. I prefer to lecture and train, with that I dodged all strenuous activities and matchings. I've always wished to and knowledge and bring people up to limelight of the little I know but I don't see myself in Sambisa fighting. Que Sera Sera |

Putin007: Boko Haram get address, if u sabi tell me make I tell burutai. So army should wait until Boko Haram send in their address? The army send in their address to the private military contractor then? My brother if we should continue these hide and seek strategy of the super camps, scores of our gallant officers will continue to pay the supreme price, avoidably. |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Nigerian Army SSC And DSSC 2016/2017 Forum by LexyJay02: 10:04am On Oct 04, 2019 |
ugo4u: The new strategy of creating Super camps is responsible for the recent spike in Bokoharam attacks, the strategy though good on paper is not working in reality, the idea of the super camps is to concentrate forces in a camp so that they will bite harder and crush the enemies anytime they attempt to takeover army bases, this led to the withdrawal of troops from various out posts to form this camp because overtime it has being a strategy for Bokoharam to use what the military calls "High volume violence" which is simply attacking our troops with overwhelming force(a situation where over 500 terrorists will storm an outpost or Military base with not more than 50 to 100men with ammunitions that is not meant for humans( Geneva convention); anti-aircraft guns etc. This birthed the idea of Super camps that is highly mobile, but unfortunately the withdrawal of troops from small outposts gave BHT leeway to operate without restriction.
As for during GEJ he used Southafrican mercenaries (Private military contractors) led by Ebenlow and other specialized units such as 72mobile strike force to liberate many towns. President Buhari didn't like the idea of using PMCs so their contract was terminated. Wow. You are knowledgeable bro. You really deserve to be in the army. But a radical change is needed, even if nah Private Military contractor. As long as we can go after them and crush them |

I have one question, why do army wait for Boko Haram or Iswap attack on villages or their base before they return the fight or give a counter fight. Why not take the action to Boko haram in their own terrain. Goodluck Jonathan waited then too like this, and when it was time for election, he assembled all defense chiefs and asked them to take the fight to Boko Haram, and they were well decimated. |

Lukas47: You people should stop discouraging applicants with "You will go to war".
It is a well known fact that the Army has not even committed up to ten thousand men per time towards the course of this war and this administration does not consider Nigeria to be at war but to be faced with different kind of insurgency (including BH terrorist).
70% of us who will make it may not see NE immediately after training and all this notion of lead men into battle is just over emphasised here. In any Army in the world including US Army where our kind of ranking is used, it's a "Captain" that leads his team not a lieutenant or 2nd lieutenant that gives a DSSC five years to attain and an SSC seven years to attain only the absence(KIA) of a captain can change the narrative and bring in a lieutenant just as the absence(KIA) of a lieutenant (including 2nd lieutenant) can usher in a sergeant.
For those of us that will be successful, let's be willing to serve irrespective of where they post you.
And stay away from "godfathers" so to speak don't influence posting using them because a time will come when the Army may want to know if you are battle tested before giving you certain commands. Hmmm. Interesting. DSSC( Non-combatants). Here we come. |

KODACK: What else would you tell the board?? Lol, my G. At least some of us are on this educative thread to see what to expect. Imagine some applicants that would be called and they will face the reality of the situation only when they get to screening or training. God bless all the contributors of this thread. Gen. Ugo thanks a lot. You've opened my mind. I was to ignore my awaiting PhD. Scholarship at Auburn University, USA for this army before. But I now have a serious decision to make. |
