Sudan - According to a rebel group, not fewer than 20 people have been killed in Sudan's war-torn Darfur region after a hill collapsed onto Khartoum's village following heavy rain.


Several people are still feared to be buried after rocks crashed down onto their houses in the mountainous Jebel Marra region of Darfur on September 7, the group said.



The remote area is under the control of the rebel Sudan Liberation Army-Abdul Wahid (SLA-AW) group, and getting independent information is difficult.



"On September 7 a part of a hill collapsed on a village in eastern Jebel Marra killing at least 20 people," said Mohamed El-Naier, spokesman of SLA-AW.



"Dozens more are still buried under the debris. The entire village has been destroyed," he said, adding that those who survived were now living in the open without any shelter.

The death toll was confirmed by the Shura Council of the Fur tribe, the biggest in Darfur.

"We urge the United Nations, NGOs and the government to help us find those still missing and to provide shelter to people living in the open," Amin Mahmud Osman, general secretary of the council, said this in a statement.



The region of Jebel Marra, a vast terrain of rocky mountains, has witnessed subsequent fightings in recent months between the SLA-AW and government forces, although overall levels of violence remain low across Darfur.



Khartoum restricts international media access to Darfur, an area about the size of France, which makes it difficult for independent media to verify details of fighting or disasters there.



An insurgency began in 2003, in Darfur, as ethnic rebels rose up against Sudan's government, accusing it of marginalization.



Khartoum responded by using militias to crack down on rebels and since then, insurgent groups have fragmented, with fighting punctuated by periods of relative calm.


Reports from The United Nations says that over the years the conflict has killed about 300,000 people and displaced more than 2.5 million, with many having set up home over the last decade and a half in sprawling semi-permanent camps.



With the overall fall in violence in Darfur, a joint peacekeeping mission between the UN and the African Union, known as UNAMID, has been minimizing its troops, which currently stand at about 8,700.



Their aim is to cut them to 4,050 by June 2019, with the mission itself terminated by the end of 2020.

Deployed in 2007, UNAMID once had 16,000 blue helmets on the ground tasked with protecting civilians in Darfur but the UN Security Council last year agreed to a major drawdown.

Woman kills own baby after Husband failed to provide Milk



Bangladesh's Police has arrested a woman who confessed to having killed her 2-month-old baby. The woman allegedly said that she killed her son as she didn't have any food to feed him.



The incident happened on Sunday after 21-year-old Sathi asked her husband Mohammed Bachchu to buy milk for the baby but the husband had no money or milk to give. Sathi tried to arrange money for the milk but all her efforts brought nothing and fed salt to the baby instead. The horrific incident took place in Dohar upazilla on the outskirts of Dhaka.



Baby's health deteriorated rapidly and he couldn't breathe after Sathi fed him salt. After realising what she had done, Sathi rushed to hospital with the baby but the baby didn't couldn't survive it.



Sathi and her husband have been in a marriage for 3 years and the husband hails from Uttar Jayapara Miyapara area of Dohar upazilla. The husband is known to be labourer as reports have it that they have a 2-year-old baby girl.



Sathi confessed her crime to police during interrogation. Bachchu, the husband then filed a case against his wife on Monday night.

Romelu Lukaku


Manchester United striker Romelu Lukaku scored twice and won a penalty that Eden Hazard converted as they defeated European counterpart Iceland goals to nil in their Uefa Nations League clash in Reykjavik on Tuesday.


Lukaku was being fouled by Sverrir Ingi Ingason in the 28th minute and the referee immediately pointed to the spot, with Chelsea talisman Eden Hazard calmly sent Hannes Halldorsson the wrong way.

Few minutes later, Romelu Lukaku made it 2-0 to Belgium after firing a close-range shot on the rebound that was judged to have crossed the line before Birkir Saevardsson managed to clear. The striker later scored his third goal with a wonderful goal in 81st minutes.


It was Belgium's first game in the UEFA Nations League as they ended Iceland's run of 13 competitive matches unbeaten at home, who were hammered 6-0 by Switzerland away in their opening Nations League game on Saturday.


Iceland's manager Erik Hamren has now conceded nine goals and lost two in two in the UEFA Nations League, after their wonderful display in the world cup though they were unable to proceed after the group stage.

At Least 45 people feared dead after state bus falls into a valley at Telangana, India
Reports has it that among the 45 passengers, 6 children were there and 30 were injured.





At least 45 passengers have died after a Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus fell off a ghat road in Telangana, India.


The accident took place in Jagitial district today, the bus carrying the passengers from well known Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy Temple slipped into a gorge near Shanivarapet village under the district at around noon.



The residents and the police reportedly rushed to the scene and have started rescuing the victims. Jagitial District Collector A. Sharat, who is supervising the relief and rescue work, told PTI that the accident happened around 11:45 am and the injured have been shifted to different hospitals.



Telangana

The Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao made an announcement that ex-gratia of 5 lakh to the kin of the victims.



Transport Minister Mahendra Reddy, Finance Minister Etala Rajendra and Nizamabad MP K Kavita also visited the injured in hospital and inquired about the accident.



According to a HT report, police suspects that the accident took place due to the failure of brakes.

Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Dele Alli has withdrawn from England's squad for tomorrow's friendly against Switzerland with a minor muscle strain.


The Tottenham midfielder played England's UEFA Nations League match against Spain at Wembley on Saturday night, in which Spain won 2-1. But Alli has picked up a knock and returned to his club side. He was unlikely to play in the Switzerland anyway, with Gareth Southgate set to make nine changes to the starting XI.


Chelsea Midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Fabian Delph would likely step into the central midfield positions previously occupied by Alli and Jesse Lingard, with Eric Dier replacing Jordan Henderson at the base of the three.


Date for Alli's full fitness is unknown, but Tottenham's coach Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping he makes a fast recovery, as they prepare to host Liverpool on Saturday.

Former Chelsea midfielder and Legend Claude Makelele believes it will be difficult for Maurizio Sarri to win the Premier League in his first season, although he has backed the Italian to make history at Stamford Bridge.



Sarri arrived from Napoli this summer after replacing Conte and he has been exceptional since the start to the Premier League campaign with Chelsea.



Chelsea have kept 100 per cent record to be one of only three teams boasting of the record after four matches.



Makelele – a two-time Premier League winner with the Blues – is expecting big things from Sarri. In his words, Makelele said: "I think Chelsea changed a lot," Makelele told reporters. "Before now you have a lot of teams in the Premier League, it's competitive.



"Manchester City, Manchester United, and also the smaller teams have good players. So it's going to be difficult for them to win the Premier League. I'm confident.



"He [Sarri] still has good players, [Eden] Hazard is there, [N'Golo] Kante is there. These kinds of players give a different story about Chelsea than the way we knew Chelsea before.



"I think he has the capacity to make history for Chelsea again."



Chelsea will welcome Cardiff City on Saturday at Stamford Bridge when the Premier League resumes after the international break.

Manchester United's left back, Luke Shaw who suffered a concussion in England's friendly game against Spain on Saturday will return to Manchester United on today, Monday the English Football Association have announced.



Shaw, 23 collided with Real Madrid's Dani Carvajal in the second half of the match at Wembley Stadium and he required lengthy treatment before being stretched off the pitch with a stretcher wearing an oxygen mask and neck brace. Shaw issued a tweet to say that he is doing fine although he will have to be monitored ahead of going back to his club.



The English Football Association in a tweet on Sunday said, “Luke Shaw remained at St. George’s Park on Sunday for further rest and monitoring having sustained a concussion against Spain yesterday. He will return to Manchester United on Monday".



England will be in action again on Tuesday against Switzerland at Leicester's King Power Stadium and Gareth Southgate, England boss, has called up Leicester duo Ben Chilwell and Demarai Gray.This is their first call up for the Three Lions Senior team who have both been part of the English U21 setup in recent seasons. It remains to be seen whether they will get a game under Southgate but they are two top quality players who would brighten up England's game.

Chelsea continued their perfect Premier League start to four games after second-half goals from substitute Pedro and Eden Hazard gave them a 2-0 home win over Bournemouth.


The result left Chelsea joint top with Liverpool on a maximum 12 points who defeated Leicester City 2 goals to 1, with either Watford or Tottenham Hotspur able to move level with the early pace-setters when they meet at Vicarage Road today.

Kylian Mbappe scored a brilliant late goal and got sent off right at the end of Paris Saint-Germain's pulsating 4-2 win at Nimes in the French league on Saturday.

Two weeks after coming off the bench to score twice against Guingamp, he bailed out PSG with an wonderful 77th-minute strike to make it 3-2 after Nimes clawed back from 2-0 down and then hit the crossbar.


Chasing down a high ball on a PSG counterattack, Mbappe scored it expertly on the inside of his right foot without breaking strike, directing the ball into his path so he could then lash a shot into the roof of the net.

Striker Edinson Cavani added a fourth in injury time after being set up by winger Angel Di Maria, who earlier scored direct from a corner.


With seconds remaining, Mbappe reacted to a late challenge from midfielder Teji Savanier and shoved the player forcefully to the ground.

Referee Jerome Brisard, who showed Mbappe a yellow card for petulantly kicking the ball away in the first half, instantly brandished a red. Mbappe stomped off, looking unhappy. But the 19-year-old star of France's World Cup-winning campaign was berated by his own goalkeeper Alphonse Areola for his wild reaction. Savanier was also sent off.

The rapper's 10th studio album, Kamikaze, landed just after midnight 31st August 2018 and looks set to cause controversy as he fires back at criticism of his previous release Revival, taking shots at Charlamagne Tha God, Machine Gun Kelly, Joe Budden, and Lil Yachty, among others.

On Friday, the 45-year Stan rapper tweeted a link to his music, featuring the cover art, a painting of the rear end of a fighter plane with the tail marker FU-2, an homage to the Beastie Boys iconic 1986 cover for Licensed to Ill, and wrote: "Tried not 2 overthink this 1... enjoy," adding a middle finger emoji.



Kamikaze includes tracks pairing the Detroit rapper with Joyner Lucas, Royce da 5'9", Jessie Reyez, and his music manager Paul Rosenberg, who features on a minute-long track, a voicemail in which he asks Eminem: “Are you really going just to deride everybody who, you don’t like what they have to say about you or the stuff you’re working on? I don’t know if that’s really a great idea.”

Ignoring him, Eminem guns for President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence, the Grammy Awards and the press, calling it out for its critical panning of his 2017 release Revival.

Cristiano Ronaldo can look forward to a return to Old Trafford in the Champions League this season after his new team Juventus came out in the same group as Manchester United in Thursday's draw in Monaco.


Ronaldo, who was not in Monaco despite being nominated for an individual award, spent six years at United, winning the Champions League in 2008, before moving to Real Madrid in 2009.


He will come up against his compatriot Jose Mourinho, under whom he played during his time at Real, while United midfielder Paul Pogba can also look forward to facing his old team.

Liverpool right back Sheyi Ojo has joined French Ligue 1 side Stade de Reims on a season-long loan.

The 21-year-old signed a new contract at Anfield before joining Stade de Reims. Under-20 World Cup winner Sheyi Ojo spent last season on loan at Craven Cottage, helping Fulham gain promotion to Premier League.

Earlier today, The Polytechnic, Ibadan was left in confusion as students were forced to leave the school premises. Reports has it that a member of the Students’ Forum’s death was being revenged around Apete area of Ibadan.



The Students Forum is anti-cultism group comprising of students and former students of the school who was involved in the fight against cultism though his activities as a member of the forum. He was said to have been killed on Monday night by cultists who stormed his apartment in Apete Area of Ibadan and shot him at a close range.



Public Relations Officer of the forum, Adeyemi Ridwan, who was one of the last persons that saw the victim before his death, said the cultists had been threatening to strike for more than two weeks, blaming the school authority for not acting the information.



Ridwan said, “The school is aware of this. I left the school with Maku on Monday and when we got to Apete, I told him that we should go to a place but he said he wanted to go and rest so he alighted from the commercial motorcycle we took from school.

Five minutes later, a lady called me and that Maku had been killed by cultists who shot him in the neck in his apartment.

Another member of the forum, Bakare Ademuyiwa, said that on August 6, 2018, he received a message from a member from a member of the Aye Confraternity. He said he was told Maku had been disturbing them from carrying out their activities in the school.



Bakare replied the member of the Aye Contraternity that forum is an anti-cultism group that had existed for many years in the school. He also pleaded with them not to attack Maku.



He further said he was shocked on Monday night when he received a call while watching the Premier League match between Manchester United and Tottenham that Maku had been killed by two Aye Contraternity members who attacked him in his apartment at Apete.

Maku graduated from Urban and Regional Planning Department of the school, may his soul rest in peace.

A 24-year-old American man has been arrested after he urinated on another traveler amid a trans-Pacific flight.
