My view of Declan rice had been consistent right from west ham, to when he was linked with Chelsea and even now. He is on the same level as Gallagher in terms of ability with just more English Hype. He's a basic midfielder.

This is how Kante does it

“For midfielders wanting to enhance their performance, Ngolo Kante should be a primary source of education. (This is also a reference point I use personally as a midfielder). Kante demonstrates himself as one of the greatest anticipators in football in a pivotal moment; he’s caught ahead of the ball. He teaches that you shouldn’t chase the ball, but protect the central space. Protecting the space allows;

1) to maintain your momentum against the opponent which can help you get goalside
2) maintain a line of travel that is parrel to the direction of the ball/opponent, always keeping eye on the ball

both points mean that when the attackers tries to cut towards goal (shift their momentum) you can directly intervene with the momentum you’ve already established, you don’t need to be changing direction — or because you’ve filled the central space, even if you can’t regain/retain the ball, your prescence will push the direction of play away from goal

Where most midfielders follow the ball, Kante prioritises the space, because he can recognise/predict what & where the opponent will go in reaction to the environment + their own act tendencies. The best footballers in the world are the greatest anticipators.”

I was asking you to post it because I thought the critism i saw was different to the one you saw and since you were quick to post Carra's comments I thought you would post Neville's too. I saw him say Sesko is off it compared to Cunha and Mbeumo. He needs to see more from him. If that is the criticism that you also saw then this our definition of harsh criticism is very different. So maybe post the harsh words from Neville so we can see how unfairly critical he has been.

Just to add that Amorim was asked about the criticism and he admitted that Sesko has struggled and that is a fact. He will adjust and will be a success.
He mentioned his price tag, and was even wrong about the figure.

My point is that that criticism was unnecessary from a United legend given that Sesko just recorded 3 goal contributions in the last 5 games.

It was 1 bad performance, cut him some slacks. And It wasn’t as if he was the only one who played badly against Forrest.

That said, Sesko should be playing better. He needs to sit up if he wants to succeed here. There are too many wolves out there waiting to tear him apart, and some of them, like Neville, always come in sheep’s clothing.

Carragher literally singled out Wirtz as Liverpool's problem in that post. Check again.

Below is another post about Wirtz...this time from a fellow German..an ex Liverpool player.

Let’s be honest with ourselves - the internal criticisms are not peculiar to our lads. In big 2025, any player who isnt mentally tough enough to accommodate these things, isnt ready.
Imagine Man Utd bought Mbeumo for 125 million. Even when he scores and United draws and or losses, he’s going to get some stick. These pundits will expect him to drag the team up all by himself. When Pogba gave 4 assists in a game, that Sounness said it’s nothing special, that that’s what he should be doing given his price tag.

How many times has Carragher mentioned Wirtz’s price tag and put pressure on him to perform? How many times did he say “he was bought for xyz, he should be scoring every other game?”

Yet that’s exactly along the lines of what Gary said about Sesko, even though he had 3 g/a in the last 5.

The internal criticism is worse for Man Utd players. This doesn’t mean me saying they should have a weak mentality. I’m just sick of it coming when it’s unnecessary.

It's just annoying. Just like how fans admired Sancho till he came. That's how United fans have been admiring Sesko. Omo. That bundesliga no dey favour us.

I think Amorim wanted Watkins. We should just keep buying EPL proven.
EPL players are more likely to understand the intense pressure they’ll be under when they come to United. Hojlund wasn’t prepared. Looks like Sesko might be going the same way.

The same Carragher that also disappeared after they lost game number 3 and 4 on the bounce?

Is this how you slam someone or call for someone to be dropped? Even during the “slamming” he was still romancing Slot. And that was very very lenient on Wirtz.

Halaand has also scored in situations where you least expect him.

Sesko was given two clear cut chances on goal today no shot on or off target came out of them.
He had one clear chance- the one Van de Vert blocked. The other one, he still had some job to do. But that doesn’t make it less of a chance.

In essence, he didn’t look sharp and he seriously needs to get a grip of himself. But that’s not my focus. I’m just sick of ex United players piling on.

Remember when he went last during the PK shootout against Grimsby? He got stick for that. It was later we found out that he played injured. All the noise was unnecessary.

I don’t mind United players getting stick, but it’s disgusting when it comes from people who should be more lenient towards them.

I just pray that these players get it right. So that they can blank those yeye “legends” later on. Immature lots.

I don't like Neville though. He talks too much. All he sees are negativity.

But Sesko? He should be doing better. I know he joined the club newly and needs to find his feet, but this EPL. Nobody will give you any chance.
100%. I agree Sesko should be doing better. I’m just disgusted at so-called club legends heaping pressure on their own players unnecessarily.

Ian Wright will never go in on Sesko if he was in the same position. That Gary has turned anti Man U in his bid to remain non partial.

Shows you've not been listening. Carra was critisizing Liverpool when they were winning at the start of the season sounding alarm bells that they're not playing well and the last minute winners was not sustainable. He also critisized their summer transfer window that even Liverpool fans were on his neck. It’s part and parcel of being at a big club. If you can't deal with it let them go and play at Fulham.
You should probably listen better. Carragher doesn’t go hard on Liverpool. When they went on their bad run, he sounded more like he was complaining.

They bought Wirtz and Isak for over 200m, how many times have you heard him go hard on them?

Just one bad game, and Gary came out unprovoked to talk sheet about Sesko. The eedeot even misquoted his transfer value, saying he was bought for 80m pounds when we got him for less than 74m, add ons included.

Given that Sesko had 3 G/A in the previous 5 games, that criticism was unnecessary.

Can you imagine Haaland with that chance?
Haaland has lost several chances this season. That doesn’t make him a terrible striker.

Sesko should’ve scored today, 100%. That he didn’t doesn’t mean people should start ganging up on him.

Exactly my thought. Gary Neville has been a critic. It's his job. As a striker, you prove him wrong by scoring.

Na wa oh.
Carragher is also a pundit. He is NOT a critic of Liverpool. Ian Wright is an Arsenal legend. He never sheets unnecessarily on his club. It is only your guys that go out of their way to talk bad about the players at their club. Even Rooney has more sense than him and minds what he says.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by Leyqute(m): 8:19pm On Nov 08, 2025

If his confidence is shot because Neville or some United legends critisized him. He should probably leave the club in January. He'll never make it here. Even under Ferguson our players were highly critisized. Its part of the game at big clubs.
Was it club legends criticizing them at that time? Was it someone that should be on their side?

All these Neville and Scholes had it easier in that they met a culture on ground and joined a team that’s already thriving. They shouldn’t be the ones talking all these unnecessary trash.

And it’s not as if Sesko is as bad as Neville said. He needs to build his mentality. The sooner he (and everyone else in that squad) realize that these legends are not on their side, the better for them.
